Christmas Countdown - 2013

We're having a heatwave this week - today being 40°C (104°F). No walking in this heat! The plants are struggling because I like more tropical plants than the drought resistant ones recommended by our council. I have spread piping for my own watering system. The risers have sprays that ants love to build nests in so silly me sees one not working, unscrews it and automatically puts it into my mouth to suck out the blockage - needless to say the ants inside weren't happy and they bit my tongue.

104° in December?!? Bless your heart! And I was complaining about it being in the 70's this weekend. You're welcome to visit chilly southeast Georgia anytime!

Merry Morning! How is everyone? I hope everyone is well and in good spirit. I can't believe how long it has been since I have been on here. Things have been hectic as I am sure it has been for all of you to. I wish I could be here more especially this time of year . Anyway I am sure I will soon be back everyday like I used to.

I apologise , I have not read any posts as I can only pop in quickly. THANK YOU so very much for all the Christmas cards! Each of them have been so special to receive. They always make me smile and think of you all.

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

We had the Christmas party for Bernie's store employees last night. He grilled filet mignon (& a chicken breast for me), baked potatoes, salad, chocolate delight & sweet tea. Mmm, mmm, mmm! Jacob played guitar and Elizabeth sang, too.

I finished up the wiring for the lights on the Nativity scene at our train depot yesterday, too. It looks pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Good morning!
Just got back from walking the dogs. I almost turned around and came back at one point, the sidewalks are a sheet of ice. I could have worn a pair of ice skates and skated around the block!
The house is straightened up and vacuumed, laundry started, and bolognese sauce is cooking in the crock pot. I am heading out to Homegoods for a couple of things and then Kohls. My husbands company Christmas party is Friday night and I need something to wear.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!!! Today is starting out chilly but we are supposed to get up into the mid 40's later this afternoon. I've got a lot of stuff I want to get done today since I will be out running most of tomorrow. I don't have a lot of motivation though. So we will see how the day goes. Good morning, everyone!

The snow is gorgeous this morning! Unfortunately, we're supposed to get some higher temps and some rain between now and Christmas, so it will melt and degenerate into a slushy mess. I wish it could stay the way it looks today until Christmas.

Thought I was done shopping, but I ordered two more gifts for Mr. this week. He's so generous with his gifts that when I see something he'd like, I jump at it.

There just aren't enough days left for all the Christmas I want to do!

Good morning MMC!!

LOL. 30 pages of posts since Monday evening. I will do my best to catch up over the day.

I spent yesterday wrapping and shipping engraved items to make sure people had them by Christmas. Finished engraving everything around 3:30am Tuesday morning. Got up at 7 and started my day. Finished everything around 1am this morning. LOL. Three mored engraved items to go but they don't need to be finished till Christmas eve and they're super easy.

Today we will tackle lights on the house. No they're not done because the ladder pushed down a gutter on the front of the house so we had to fix that first. LOL And I will carve the cardinals for my mom. *gulp* Yeah I'm nervous about it.
