Christmas Countdown - 2013

Oh good morning my fellow Christmas friends! It seems like I just laid down on the pillow at 2 am after getting back from SLC airport. Anyhow there is just so much to do and so much excitement in the air I could not sleep! Our house is full of my siblings and their children and spouses. They will all be gone by Jan1st and on December 27th Brandi's brother and mom and dad are flying in until Jan2nd. I would love it if some of my family and her family overlap but I am not sure who is going and when....I just know we are all here now and on the 26th my brother and his wife are leaving. everyone is leaving at different times and all. But I love it...everyone being here!!! since mom died we have really drawn strength from each other and we knew we all had to cling together this holiday and keep busy busy busy!!! so we have no time to think of sad things! Well I am going to go cook a huge country breakfast for about 15 people. I will make country fried steak with gravy and hash browns...hotcakes and sausage and bacon...I know this is not the healthiest...but I also am serving yogurts(which I love BTW) and smoothies with plenty of vitamin b12 for energy!We will probably skip lunch because we are having a turkey fry tonight!!!

How could I forget the weather...well right now it's 30F and the snow is getting soft and yesterday we got up to 37F and we continue to lose about 2 inches at least in the back yard..I have about 12 inches of snow out there...I have kept records that show we have had snow on the ground since November 27th. I am surprised because I thought we would have snow melt in between storms at least until late Dec or early jan when the snow pack usually starts. Anyway I guess we will not see grass until spring or Easter? We will see huh..lol OKay everyone have a great day whether you are shopping or going to get loved ones at the airports,bus stations, and be careful on the roads besides snow and ice they are packed with cars and people trying to get to granny's house for some pumpkin pie...(as the song goes)! I will check in throughout the day! Take care!

Good Icy Sunday morning, Christmas family!

My goodness, it was very beautiful out this morning. Of course my camera wasn't charged so I wasn't able to take any pictures. Now there is a lot coating of snow on all of the ice - still pretty out, but not awe inspiring any more. I thought for sure that the local radio station would be full of news on the ice storm, but apparently a bit further north of me they got a lot of snow and thousands of people are without power. Driving is hazardous, although the county trucks are out in force (not by me, of course. They probably won't make it here until after Christmas!). All the Christmas plans I had made with family have been canceled due to the weather and there isn't going to be any rescheduling because of work schedules.

Well, I need to get this computer charged just in case there is a power outage.

Hey everybody!!! I don't know where the last several days have gone, but I have been thinking about all of you every day & wanting to get on here, but darn....I keep running out of time! (bosses being in the office doesn't help either!)



We just had a great night. We had NO PLANS at all, which just doesn't seem right, right before Christmas. SO I texted our neighbors & told them whoever doesn't have anything going on, come over for some Christmas cheer - drinks & snacks. We had a ball. Them last minute plans are the best!! 4 couples ended up coming over & 2 sons of the 1 couple + our friends stopped it. It turned into a great night. Lots of laughs!! Tomorrow my brother & SIL come in from Cape Cod - hopefully the flooding around here doesn't cause any issues!!!! Can't wait to see them again!!!



I'm worried about my Buster. His back end seems to get weaker every day. He seems confused. Not sure if he really even knows what is going on anymore...but he eats like a champ & doesn't seem to be in any pain...BUT I'm afraid the end is coming soon for my friend! Hate it!



So - I am sitting here covered up in my Christmas afghan, watching Christmas Magic, by tree light - something I haven't been able to do enough of this season & I am loving every minute of it. It's almost 2am so I should go to bed...but I don't want too!!!!



So I'm off to read some posts & feel even more Christmassy!!! Hope all is well with all of you!!!

Sorry to hear that Buster is having a tough time, friend. I will keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers

Thanks for all the prayers for Bus! Today he seems better. One day is pretty good, the next day - not so good! Can we make him about 7 years younger?? I wish..... On a great note - my brother/sil are in Ohio! Their flight has landed. My other bro & sil picked them up & they are going to BW3's to watch the Bengals game. Will be home around 4:30 & we're having pizza at my sisters at 6! FUN!!!

our temps have gone up above freezing and the ice is melting now. Wind is picking up so hopefully that does not cause any problems with all the ice still on the trees.
We are keeping all our stuff charged up too, just in case.

Icepocalypse 2013 is over for Oklahoma. My neighbor's tree is partly down on my yard, and some of my rain guttering is falling off of the house. Other than that there is no major damage. I hope you all have a great Sunday. I can't wait for the radio festivities to start on Kringle radio!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!!! The temperature is dropping and the wind has picked up but at least the rain has stopped!!! I'm thinking about everyone who is still in the path of the storm though. Not to much going on here today. I have a few things i want to get my eggs boiled for my macaroni salad and my celery and onions chopped. That way it doesn't take me to long to throw it together tomorrow. Then we will be going out to my sister's for Mom's birthday dinner and cake and ice cream. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

According to tvguide.com A Very Mery Mix Up is going to be on again Christmas night at 7:30 pm! Fir Crazy is on now, & again Dec 25th at 12am & 3 pm.

Thanks Holiday!! Fir crazy I still have on DVR. Very Merry wasn't showing when I looked because Christmas night was more than 7 days from when I looked. LOL. I'll set it now!

Well I am sitting down to a quick bite to eat because after I cooked breakfast this morning I went back to sleep, as usual I made too much so there is leftovers. It looks like the average member of my family will gain 20 to 30 pounds this Holiday!! I mean this is bordering on gluttonous I think!! We did not attend Mass this morning but we will go Christmas eve of course. All 20 of us and it is so special having the family there and hearing the music and lighting the candles, it's such a spiritual time it's hard to explain but I am sure most of yall know too! Well I need to take the dogs out for a stroll! Check back in later !

I watched a show on tv called Craziest Christmas Lights where 3 (or was it 4?) houses in Britain showed us how they stored their lights and decorations all year and then how they spent time organising their displays and what it all means to them which all boiled down to sharing with the people around them and doing their bit to raise money for worthy causes. Thankyou guys, I enjoyed it here in Australia too!!!

Good afternoon, everyone! How are you all today? I am doing well, just been spending the day with DH and the kiddos, watching Christmas specials all day. I am doing absolutely nothing, but that!

What is everyone's plans for the rest of the day? I hope what ever you all decide to do and have planned, is full of Christmassy things. This is my favorite time of the year. This is my last night of work off, I work one, then I am off Christmas Eve. I am looking forward to just relaxing tonight and doing nothing!

Well, I am going to keep watching Christmas in Connecticut. I think I'll make a bowl of popcorn too to enjoy with the movie! Hope you're all enjoying your day! God Bless and keep smiling!
