Glad you're finally starting to feel better.

Yeah I just cannot believe how quickly it's going. So excited for Christmas day and yet sad knowing how soon it will all be over for the most part. I celebrate Epiphany so I do have some celebration still left, BUT no one else does so again everyone just thinks I'm odd.

I'm Catholic, so we'll be celebrating Christmas up until the Epiphany as well. You're not weird at all!

This is my front door this morning, everything covered in ice!
Power went out 10 min ago, glad it will soon get light.

Oh good morning my fellow Christmas friends! It seems like I just laid down on the pillow at 2 am after getting back from SLC airport. Anyhow there is just so much to do and so much excitement in the air I could not sleep! Our house is full of my siblings and their children and spouses. They will all be gone by Jan1st and on December 27th Brandi's brother and mom and dad are flying in until Jan2nd. I would love it if some of my family and her family overlap but I am not sure who is going and when....I just know we are all here now and on the 26th my brother and his wife are leaving. everyone is leaving at different times and all. But I love it...everyone being here!!! since mom died we have really drawn strength from each other and we knew we all had to cling together this holiday and keep busy busy busy!!! so we have no time to think of sad things! Well I am going to go cook a huge country breakfast for about 15 people. I will make country fried steak with gravy and hash browns...hotcakes and sausage and bacon...I know this is not the healthiest...but I also am serving yogurts(which I love BTW) and smoothies with plenty of vitamin b12 for energy!We will probably skip lunch because we are having a turkey fry tonight!!!

How could I forget the weather...well right now it's 30F and the snow is getting soft and yesterday we got up to 37F and we continue to lose about 2 inches at least in the back yard..I have about 12 inches of snow out there...I have kept records that show we have had snow on the ground since November 27th. I am surprised because I thought we would have snow melt in between storms at least until late Dec or early jan when the snow pack usually starts. Anyway I guess we will not see grass until spring or Easter? We will see huh..lol OKay everyone have a great day whether you are shopping or going to get loved ones at the airports,bus stations, and be careful on the roads besides snow and ice they are packed with cars and people trying to get to granny's house for some pumpkin pie...(as the song goes)! I will check in throughout the day! Take care!

Good morning!!! Sounds like we have some extreme weather around the US on this Dec. 22nd! Heat waves, flooding & ice storms! Crazy!

I just looked up my brothers flight & there is no update saying that it's not on time, so fingers crossed. Hopefully they have NO ISSUES!! So excited!!!

I need to make up some candy trays for the neighbors today & hopefully Jim will deliver them for me! I should get to the grocery store to get my goodies for Bruschetta on Christmas Eve! I'm sure we will do something as a family once my bro/sil get here - maybe just hang out at mom/dads. I'm not sure what time the Bengals play today? But I'm sure many family members will be tuned in, including my hubby!! It's nice to have no major plans so I can get some last minute things done - but yet I like to have something fun & Christmassy to do with other peeps! Lol!

Good Icy Sunday morning, Christmas family!

My goodness, it was very beautiful out this morning. Of course my camera wasn't charged so I wasn't able to take any pictures. Now there is a lot coating of snow on all of the ice - still pretty out, but not awe inspiring any more. I thought for sure that the local radio station would be full of news on the ice storm, but apparently a bit further north of me they got a lot of snow and thousands of people are without power. Driving is hazardous, although the county trucks are out in force (not by me, of course. They probably won't make it here until after Christmas!). All the Christmas plans I had made with family have been canceled due to the weather and there isn't going to be any rescheduling because of work schedules.

Well, I need to get this computer charged just in case there is a power outage.

We are getting a very pretty snow storm. We still had a few inches on the ground, and now have about three more! It's supposed to continue overnight, and then get down to -12.

The roads are slippery, hope they plow before morning.

I have had some crazy shifts recently, plus I have been taking on some OT. I haven't been around as much as I normally am, and I miss you all. But the extra money is nice! I closed last night, and opened this morning. I only got 2 hours of sleep. Have to be up again to open tomorrow. I have Christmas Eve & Christmas off, then go back the 26th. And then I have the weekend off- Thank God!!

What is new with you all?

What Christmassy things have you been up to?

We are having family over on Christmas Eve, and then going to a midnight mass. I always love those- such beautiful services.

Ugggghhhh! I know, it was in the 70's around here today with 100% humidity. I was even driving around today with the AC on.....crazy weather!

I'm finally starting to feel almost like my old self again, running about 85% there.... I swear, I feel like I had a touch of the flu, but how could that be, I had a Flu shot???? I had aches and pains all over my body, I was worn out, had no energy, thirsty all the time, one minute I was cold the next I was peeling clothes.... Maybe I'm having some king of a mid-life changing that's going on....

So I'm sitting here looking at the calander, "What the....Christmas is omly like 3 days away!!!!!". This is what I'm thinking to myself! Boy, it is really chugging along now; the time that is....

Well back to work tomorrow morning, I'm jealous if anyone has off... Have a great night all and I'll see you's tomorrow~:wink:

glad you are feeling better, you can still get the flu even with the shot, you just do not get it nearly as bad as those who do not get the shot.
I am back to work again tomorrow to, so we will both go and have a good one!

It IS possible to get the flu, even if you've had a flu shot. The shot in any given year only protects against the strains of flu that the experts feel will be most prevalent, so you could have gotten a different strain. But chances are your case will be milder if you've had the flu shot. So you probably DID have the flu. I hope it's well and truly over now.

Dinner at my sister's for mom's birthday was okay. The highlight of it, was her dropping the cake on the floor while trying to show everyone what it looked like before she cut it. We still had Birthday cake ice cream though so all was okay!!! LOL!!!
