Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good morning all, it's the Day before the Night Before Christmas! (bonus points to anyone who can remember the song by that name!) Hubby and I went to Herr's last night, to see their Christmas display. For anyone interested, that's Herr's Snack Factory in Nottingham, PA. They have their premises all lit up for Christmas...I've never seen so many trees with lights in one place. Lovely! And the nicest part is it's free....you just show up and drive through. We went around about 5 times, then went and got sandwiches at Wawa. Victor the Wonder Dog went with us, and got his own sandwich. It was a great evening! So, tonight we're going to 34th street and a few other places. Then I can download all the pictures and show them off!

Ladies and Gents....it is almost here.....I have an overly hyped up 7 year old in the house.....we are all ready and exited for Christmas!!!! The Lord has come and we are ready to celebrate it!!!!

Ohhhhhh, I wish I could see that, one day in it's original form! I would take watching that one to heart; love that movie and I also love A Christmas carol (1938) with Reginald Owen as well~ I also love the Patrick Stewart version also...:wink:

Slammed at work today---just inhaled my lunch and have to get back to work. Listened to Kringle Radio while I ate. Awesome!

Back from shopping with my sister. Saw a car upside down in front of the mall so that just caused crazy traffic. Oh well, I'm home safely!!

Now time to crank kringle radio back up and get to cooking!!!

My brother has been without power since 8:45 am yesterday. He has a generator so at least they can keep the house warm. They also have a gas stove so can also still cook even with no power. They have a 8 week old baby so are really grateful they can keep things going.
They live about a 1/2 hour from us.

He just told me it will be at least noon tomorrow before hydro is restored at his place

Thoughts & prayers are with him & his family~

Good morning!
Prayers for Maggie please, I'm taking her to the vet again this morning. Her cough is flaring up. My husband is going to kill me, we just had a $400 bill last week for bringing Molly to the ER for an ear infection. When it rains it pours.
Anyway, I have a few errands to run afterwards and then back home for daily chores. The girls are all working today, the outlets have been a madhouse. If they want me to drive them in I will, the parking has been terrible.

Hello all...just sat down for a quick break. I spent 2.5 hours just grocery shopping for the next couple of days. Holy cow...it was a marathon. With my kids and grandkids, I was trying to think of everything we'd need for the next few days of celebrating. I'm pooped!
Tonight my daughter and I have a reunion with her high school buddies and their moms. I wish it weren't tonight, but with all the girls in town, I guess it makes sense. They are now 31 years old, but still such good friends. It's fun once I allow myself to relax and stop thinking of all the little details I need to finish.
Tomorrow is brunch with our kids and little ones. Christmas Day is the huge family gathering with my sibs and families...more food and festivity!
Merry Christmas dear friends! I hope all of you have a beautiful celebration wherever you are in the world!

I am out sitting at the world's longest traffic light finishing everything up as far as groceries, gift wrap, last 2 gifts.

So excited.... I'm getting my Christmas weather wish!! Cold front moving through tonight. Lasting till Friday!! Highs in the mid 60s and lows in the high 30s to low 40s. Yes for central Florida that's amazing for Christmas. I am so happy!!!! LOL

Yes, definitely ... I've been trying to ignore it and fight it off. I'm happy I was able to get off from work Thursday and Friday, so I can cushion my return to the non-Christmas world. It's always a struggle to find something to take the place of the warm, happy, busy excitement that comes with the Christmas season that can get me through the dark months until April or May. Frequent visits here help!

I actually get anxiety worrying that I'm responsible for others enjoyment of Christmas day. Silly really. My feelings are usually of release of the pressure as everyone is happy.
