Christmas Countdown - 2013

Happy Christmas eve! We are getting back from Mass and it was very very moving. I am so tired these last 5 days just have been so much fun visiting with my brothers and sister. Tomorrow is the last full day. They all start leaving on the 26th. My baby sister Mia is going to stay until Jan 1st so she will ring in the new year with Brandi's family as they are flying in on the 27th from Boston. My gosh I have been eating way too much I have hearburn that may keep me up all night!! yeesh I will go now I just wanted to wish everyone A merry Christmas Eve and I hope everyone's is going great! I will talk to you all tomorrow!

I love time with the family, so special. We are hoping to have everyone here next year. Wonderful that you are having such a great time with everyone!

Good morning everyone and Merry Christmas from my family to yours! We are waiting for DH to stop by in the firetruck so we can open gifts, then once we do that, it's out to my parents for the day.

Once DH gets off work, we'll eat dinner and open gifts out there. I work tonight, but I'm hoping to get on call.

Friends, today has been even more magical than I imagined.

My grandfather met his great granddaughter for the first time. You would have to know how close we were growing up to understand just how important this was to both of us. He just kept patting me on the back and telling me he loved me.

One of the toughest men I have ever seen was brought to tears when he saw his great-granddaughter.

We laughed, we hugged, we exchanged stories, and we ate. There was plenty of pictures being taken, memories being made, and the magic of Christmas was oh so present.

In a few minutes, Santa will be making his first delivery to my daughter. I can't begin to tell you the happiness I feel right now.

I hope you are all having a great night....7 minutes on the east coast....one hour and seven minutes where I am...

But for us...it's Christmas year round....

Well it's after 7pm here and I'm winding down towards a bubble bath. Really haven't eaten much of all the great food but I expect that won't last...usually happens when I practically taste the recipe books for weeks in advance as I plan. Had a taste of bacon, choc bits and original pancakes made by my chef son for brekky with my own chocfudge, raspberry and salted caramel sauces. Lunch were tiger prawns and homemade tartare. Dinner was roasted minted honey lamb racks, rosemary garlic sweet potato, walnut and honey red onions and peas. I have made strawberry mousse for dessert but not happy with the presentation although I know everyone will eat it regardless.
I hope everyone is feeling as satiated as I am with both food and love. Thankyou all so much for increasing my Christmas enjoyments and I look forward to keeping in contact with ONLY 364... point something... days to plan for next Christmas. Oh, and Santa brought me the grass tree I have hinted at for maybe 25 years!!! I can't blame Santa really, I have a very long list with family high up in the priorities Cheers all

Oh, here is a picture of my tree snuggled in a safe corner near the kitchen because we needed the floor space in the lounge area. There's an angel on top and pine cones and a working train underneath. The tree is looking a little flat after 25 years but my daughter had it up before I could rejuvenate it. I will put it on the 2014 Christmas to do list.

beautiful tree! I have an Australian Santa on mine, my sister sent it to me when they lived in Perth for 8 years.

We made it.
Back again to the greatest single day of the year.

And Crown gets their yearly week off from countdowning!
Will pop in from time to time but it could be irregular as I enjoy a break -- and some of the Bowl games!

Thanks once again for a fantastic year of "counting" on each other.
And I can already sense that 2014 will be even better.

I'm having a cup of coffee, sitting by the Christmas tree with the cats and dogs. I'm waiting for the family to wake up, last night was a late one. We had a wonderful time with my in-laws. The kids love being with all of their cousins, they have so much fun together. There was a light snow falling as we drove home last night. We only got a dusting but it looks so pretty this morning. We will be at my brothers house later today with the rest of my family. I usually host Christmas day but my sister-in-law offered to do it for me because of the construction going on in my house. It will be nice to get a break. I will wake the girls up soon if they don't wake up on their own. I'm feeling a little anxious!

our day is different too with my daughter working. We were all up early so all the gifts are open now. Still have stockings to do but are going to leave that until she is home.
Turkey dinner with all the trimmings for supper, the rest of the day is just relaxing and watching movies while munching on goodies.

Well the kids were up early, excited to see what the jolly old man left them. I'm tired but you can't beat their laughter and smiles.

I know some of you lost loved ones this year, with two of you losing them very recently. I'm praying for you all on this Christmas. And I'm praying everyone has a blessed 2014. I can't wait to spend it with the ones I love, and all of you are included in that group.

quiet day here now, eldest at work the other two in basement enjoying gifts and watching TV. I am enjoying the quiet, talking to family on WhatsApp.
Already having problems staying on here, always happens with all the traffic on Christmas day!
So nice to hear from many of you already as you start off your Christmas day, and for some finish off your Christmas day.
Going to drop some goodies off at the hotel where my daughter is working later. Need to get the turkey in the oven in about an hour.
Until then I will just watch tv, hang out here or curl up with Penny and read.
