Well I'm sad its over but i will enjoy the rest of the holiday season. Ive learned about German christmas and some of the different traditions. seems like every year we also say next christmas season plan on doing this as think it's gonna be better but in reality the season is always great.!!!! Have a great day and in 364 days we'll be back at the great day again.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am happy to say that I do not have the post Christmas blues! Hopefully it will not creep up on me either!

Not here to knock anyone who suffers from it because I know all too well how it feels. Been there, done that! Just hang in there! We are all here to keep you happy and full of Christmas spirit year round!!!

Remember.... Only 364 days until Christmas!!! :???:

We had the best Christmas yesterday. My husband had to work, so Mom and I spent the afternoon at my sister's house. Boy did she have a good dinner! Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sauerkraut with sausage, cranberries, corn pudding, mac and cheese, hot rolls, and green beans. After that there were homemade streusels and cinnamon rolls. Then we goofed around for awhile until Mom got tired and I took her home. It was only 6:00 by then, so I took my dog and myself over to Mom's house, and we sat around eating turkey sandwiches and watching the dog play with his new toys. I went home around 8:00, and found out that A Christmas Carol was on. My favorite version too! Well, they kept playing it, and I lost track of time and finally went to bed at 2:00am.

I am so sleepy right now I don't know what my name is.

Maybe I'll just keep staring at this computer screen until 3, when I can go home and have a nap. The charts will just have to stack up today.

Well I still have Christmas with my parents today and then the big Official Christmas with my ILs won't be till the 29th or 30th. We had a small thing with them Christmas Eve because my husband's youngest sister had to send her kids with her ex on Christmas day, around 11am. She wouldn't have them back till much later in the evening and wanted her parents to get to have as many of us there as possible on Christmas Eve/Day.

My husband's other younger sister is driving in from New Orleans on the 28th to pick up her kids, who flew in on the 21st to spend Christmas with their dad/her ex. ILs held off on the big spread and family bonfire till she can get here with her DH and kids.

Even with those two more acknowledgements of Christmas coming up - I'm trying, but I still am feeling that pressing sense of loss. I think too because it is my son's last Christmas with us as - our "child." Does that make sense? He's leaving for college in St. Louis, MO in August. Half the nation away. I think he'll come home for Christmas, but who knows?

I was watching the new Christmas movie with Candice Cameron where she is a real estate developer checking out the lodge that focuses on Christmas celebration. In it, the lodge owner is talking to her and says, "A son is a son till he takes a wife, but a daughter is a daughter for the rest of your life." I burst into tears.

There is so much coming up this year that I'm not looking forward to, I think I invested so much into this Christmas season emotionally that the close of it is feeling overwhelming.

Anyone remember that scene with Kevin Bacon in She's Having A Baby where he is strapped into that jet cart careening into a crash wall? That's what I feel like. LOL

Ah well... thankfully MMC is here and I can play on it all year through. :-)

Merry Christmas everyone! I pray your Christmas is merry and bright. :-D

I is hard to say good bye to your kids and hope you prepared them well to face life on their own.
You feel sad and melancholy for a time and then slowly it is replaced with pride and joy as you see him mature into a wonderful man.

So nice to continue your Christmas festivities.
Enjoy your week!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a chilly day here with a high in the low 30's. That's better than the blizzard we had the day after Christmas last year. Not much on my agenda for today. Just lots of cleaning to do and trying to make room for all of these new gifts. Normally I would have got up this morning and went out looking for new decorations for next year but I really didn't see anything that caught my eye before Christmas. I'll still probably go out at some point because I need to get cards for the exchange next year and wrapping paper. No big bags of new ornaments though. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
we went out briefly to look too, not very busy in the stores and I also did not see anything that caught my eye, not even any cards.
We have nothing planned for today except a bit of cleaning and watching movies.

We need 1500 posts in under a week to hit 60,000. Chat it up folks

My post Christmas blues have been replaced with the dread of having to report for Jury duty on Monday. Yuck!!! Don't they know that I'm supposed to be home watching the last of the Christmas movies on Hallmark!!!!
I have only been called for jury duty once, I was not selected and was really glad since it was a rape trial.
Hopefully the trial you are at will not last to long.

No blues for me ... The season is just 11 months away. In a few weeks we can say under 300 days.... and of course CIJ.

Good morning!
My husband will be on vacation for the next week and school is out until January 6th. No big plans but it will be nice to have everyone around. My husband has plenty of work to do in the house and the girls will all be working at the outlets here and there.
I am not feeling sad today. I am determined to make next Christmas the best one yet. I let all of the construction in my house get me down this year. I was unorganized and frazzled most days. I am going to pull myself together. There is no better time than now to begin planning for Christmas 2014. I already updated my Christmas card list. I will be heading to Hallmark later to buy cards for next year and then Target to stock up on wrapping paper, tags and bows. I will also be working on Christmas gift lists!
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day :-D
sounds like you have a nice week ahead of you. Good to be organized for next year, I am going to wait until after new years to start mine, just want to be lazy now.

Christmas aholic. Weren't you here during the infamous qvc scene??

Good afternoon to all!

I hope that everyone's Christmas was MERRY and bright. ;]

I woke up on Tuesday morning feeling ill so I basically spent two days in bed eating smelly garlic and drinking lots of tea. I haven't had sore throat or running nose for years and now I got it on Holiday. Yuck. :/ Anyway, I managed to chat with my mum on Skype last night for 3 hours!!! (It probably was the longest chat we have ever had on Skype. ^^ )

I am now looking forward to going home for New Years. :]

Enjoy the rest of the holiday everyone! (I see that some of you have already started thinking about next year's Christmas or card exchange. Oh, I wish I could be that organized!)

Best wishes from cloudy and windy Scotland!
hope you feel better soon, family here has a touch of the cold bug too.
Have fun on your trip home!

Sorry to hear you were sick over Christmas. Maybe it was a blessing you weren't able to get a ticket to go home for Christmas....and now you have New Years at home to look fwd too & hopefully you will be feeling back to 100%!

Hope you're all having a great day so far! DH and I are just trying to clean up from the last two days and trying to find a place for all these new gifts. The kids are loving playing with their things!

I'll be back later to get caught up!
