Good morning!
We have a dense fog advisory this morning. The ice has melted with the warmer temperatures but it will get colder as the day goes on. We are bracing ourselves for record breaking cold temperatures for Tuesday and Wednesday. Boo!
I am getting back to my normal routine this morning. Typical day of errands and chores. I also need to pick up that salt, everything will be a sheet of ice by this evening.
I hope everyone is safe and warm and has a wonderful day!

Merry Morning!!! Anyone ever told you guys you all talk too much! LOL I am trying my best to catch up but it is HARD with Isaac.

How was the weekend? Ours was good, quiet. We watched the movie 'New Years Eve' for the first time on Saturday night. I thought it was quite appropriate for the transition out of the season.

Mr Festive is back to work today and Jacob is back to school. I know we are already on the 6th but it feels like my official start to the year now. The tree came down on Friday and I am in the middle of taking down everything else this morning.

It is such a bittersweet feeling. Obviously I feel sad that the season has past but every now and then I get a little surge of excitement thinking about Christmas 2014. The Christmas spirit reminding me of things to come.

I got a few decorations in the sale last week including some festive candy cane coloured tinsel!

Well I hope everyone has a good day at work or home. Hopefully I can find some time to pop back later!

Good morning, Sam!!

It is bittersweet taking down the decorations- sad, but also trying to make it fun by rearranging my winter decor. Kind of feels like new!

I love "New Years Eve"!! One of my favorites. Hope you guys enjoyed it!

Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Good Morning, First Monday Friends!

Yes, indeedy.
It is the first Monday of the new year and the begining of our first full week.

And we are greeted by the following interesting facts:
Days to the Season: 311
Days to Christmas Day: 353

And as the count numbers reveal, we will find ourselves down to SINGLE DIGITS to 2014 Milestone #1 the day after tomorrow, that marker being the 300-day Season Window.
<< How can we be so far along, Crown? >>
Well, little voice, I can only say it's the magic and the beauty of the Season count!

Well, nice and warm here where we stand just over 58 degrees at this hour.
A light rain is falling but that's the least of our worries.
The weather service says we will botton out tonight at about 10 degrees, an all-time record low for the date.
(I'm definitely NOT looking forward to that!)

But regardless of your weather, you try hard to have a Marvelous Monday, OK?

I am looking forward to starting the week with a day off! So glad that I don't have to leave the house today.

I have some decorating projects that I plan to work on, and some laundry calling my name. Other than that, I will be here with my Christmas family, chatting away, and staying warm =]

Hope you all stay safe & have a blessed day~

Good morning! I awoke here this morning at 4:45am to a temperature of 40 degrees and since I've been here at work, it's already down to 34 degrees and dropping. It looks like that cold blast is starting to make it's way or should I say, push it's way here...

I just don't know what it is about being where I moved to, but I had another ice event yesterday/ last night. I left the house in the van with my wife and daughter, when I got down our street to end, it's a hill. I started down the hill, slowly, and that was it, I completely lost control of the van. Lisa starts yapping at me about driving so close to the shoulder of the road, and I said it's not me but the momentum of the van. I was not driving it, it was driving us.....

We slid down and around a curve without hitting the guardrail or driving off the road; about 75 feet. I ended up at the bottom of the hill, in the other lane of traffic (with no other car in sight)... I had to pull over and recollect myself, and check my drawers just to make sure I didn't have an accident in them.....

There was this light mist falling at the time, it was foggy and the road was just cold enough where it started freezing up; black ice....it about scared the beagebees out of me~ I drove the rest of the way on pins and needles until I got back home.

Between that and the Packers losing, esh, what a crappy night! At least there was one good thing, by the grace of god, I didn't hit anything or anyone. I never want to go thru that again~

Hi Snow!I bet you are glad not to have to go out out into those freezing temperatures!! -22 that is jaw dropping!

Goodness!!! I am so glad you are ok! How scary that must have been! Hope you all are settling into the new house by the way!

I have just been watching the news about the severe weather in the US! That is some seriously cold temperatures! I will be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers! Please keep safe and warm!

We have not had any snow here in these parts and there doesn't seem to be any on the way either. It is cold but not freezing. It is raining a lot and we are having very strong gales, nothing that isn't tolerable though.

I tell myself they're recharging their Christmas magic for next year. .

I absolutely love this thought Merry!

Ok, onto my happy place!
Here's my Santa!!

I had fallen in love with him last month. He was too expensive, then he was purchased. Last night, he was returned! So, with clearance, and my discount, he was a steal!

A match made in Christmas Heaven :) It truly was meant to be!
He will look awesome this Christmas!

10 degrees here in north Texas. First full week of the year. Really dreading the nest few months as we try to close out our boring business without losing to much skin. The boys still have another week before they head back to college. They are only 3 hours away and one or both of them usually comes home every weekend but its not the same. For several weeks leading up to Christmas I mentally kick things down the road that aren't important now it's time to take care of those things. I'll be looking forward to the milestones a little more this year. Stay warm everyone.

Light bulb lit up...I opened up the garage door, found a receptacle outside and grabbed an extension cord and I threw the lights over a bush (1 bush only) and plugged them in... I never told the wife. Left them plugged in all night. I just got a text message from my wife just now, when she left for work this morning at 6am, she said she walked outside and just shook her head laughing at me. she thinks I'm a goober~cheesy

I new I would get some outside light up at some point this year......

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

What a busy weekend we had. I was up at 8AM with a local electrician and his bucket truck, taking down the city Christmas lights & banner from the power poles. After I had those stacked away properly (by myself), I took down the Nativity scene from our train depot, and stacked it away. Then I went home and took down our Christmas decorations. It took all day to get Christmas down, but the deed is done.

I'm still finding pine needles throughout the house, after rassling the tree outside, but that's usual.

It's supposed to get down in the teens today! It's so unusual this far south and this close to the coast, there'll be a little panic. I was in Bernie's store this morning, and it was the talk of the town. LOL

I have a city council meeting tonight. I better stop by City Hall this afternoon and pump up the heat before the meeting!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
