Prayers for Mr's procedure tomorrow. Hoping everything works out for the game, but if not, as you said, as long as everything is okay with him, that's what is most important and you're a great wife for looking at it that way.

Thank you, it's kind of you to say that!

Mr. had the laser procedure today, and it seems to have gone well. They don't really make any guarantees that his vision will improve, but at least the tear in the retina is repaired. The doctor let us know that once this happens, it could happen again, or occur in the other eye, at any time---"because your other eye is the same age." Not so encouraging, but that's life as you get a bit older. I don't think of us as being so very old, but when you run into something like this, you start to feel old anyway.

At least we got to the ball game. But it was a dud. The Sox lost 6 to 4. It was 5 to 1 when we left during the 5th. They sure aren't the team they were last year. And the prices! Two sodas, chicken tenders with fries, and a burger with fries, $37.50! Five bucks for a 20-oz bottle of soda, $4.25 for a bag of popcorn! You gotta love Fenway Park to pay for all that plus your tickets and the train.

I think we are in for a storm today....

Wednesday 21 May 2014
Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:

  • London - Parkhill - Eastern Middlesex County
  • Strathroy - Komoka - Western Middlesex County
Severe thunderstorm conditions possible - afternoon to evening.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Stay indoors when a thunderstorm strikes. There isn't a place outside that is safe during a thunderstorm. In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

I hope the storms weren't bad for you today.

Thinking of you all. Have a restful night! Tomorrow's one day closer to a long weekend!

the grass is mowed, thanks to my son, the brownies baked, the kitchen clean.
Got a new toaster today (ours being over 10 years old, it was rather worn out) This is a Gordon Ramsay 2 slice motorized toaster, a lot more fun to use! Plus, it was $50 on sale for only $20 !
Now I have to think of something to make for supper.

Nice find on the toaster.

Have a good night's sleep!

Good very late evening to all! It's past 11 o'clock here but I am still trying to finish the chapter I've been working on today. As I was going through the posts, I've realized that many of you are experiencing stormy weather. That's insane and I do hope it will pass safely with no major incidents.

We also had thunder and lightening every evening in last three days. It is calm tonight though. Also, I saw some news about hurricanes in my home country yesterday and I found this picture http://i59.tinypic.com/ja7w55.jpg on 'facebook' today. It does look scary!

Mother Nature got wild.

That is quite a cloud formation. I hope all is well.

I am glad you and Mr were able to get to Fenway, but those prices are beyond ridiculous.
Mr. is still in my thoughts, I hope it continues to heal properly.

Good evening,

Another long day of work and running around. JP had another baseball game, but this one was nearly 30 miles away. I find it ridiculous that 9-11 year olds have to play a game that far away on a school night. We got home about 9:30, and I finally sat down for the first time today.

I am fighting a losing battle, my blinks seem to get longer every time I shut my eyes.

Good night, everyone.

Thinking of you and Mr., Merry Carey. Our eyes are so important to us. Take care of yourself so you stay energized, yet rested. Here's hoping that both of you have a restful and fun holiday weekend!

I am going to read awhile. I started a new (to me) book, Burn Factor by Kyle Mills ; and I will continue with the Jo Nesbo book. We have another dinner meeting tomorrow evening, and we will be heading to Madera to attend our nephew's high school graduation this weekend. TTYL

I'm glad that all went well with the procedure. Continued prayers for Mr.

It's great that you were able to see the game, even if it was a dud. I bet Fenway Park is quite an experience!

That is kind of silly, too bad they don't take that into consideration.

Hope you're getting a restful night of sleep.

Have a great day, friend~

I agree, everything is so darn expensive today. The last time I brought my daughter to a concert I paid $10 for two water bottles. I told her I could have bought two cases of water for that price. It's crazy. Hope you still had fun at the game!
Enjoy your day and have a wonderful three day weekend!!!
