Today is the anniversary of my dad's home going. It has been 17 years already, I miss him.
Mom and I are going to the cemetery to clean the headstone and plant some flowers.
This is dad with mom and my 2 girls in the spring of 1987 (LittleCS is the one without the hat)

He looks like a loving, happy dad. I know how you feel, but I believe both your dad and mine are looking down at us with pride. Still, it's hard not to be sad on these anniversaries. Bless your heart.

Good Morning, my Friends.

Back at last!
-- But not for long --

A last minute change of plans.
We are now leaving for the beach later this morning and will return late Monday.
So, alas, I must request another volunteer for tomorrow and Monday mornings.
Short notice, but.....well.....you know how that goes!

I nominate Star again!
:point:

Good Saturday morning, my Christmas friends!

I didn't even get a change to post yesterday. We had VP's in from corporate, and they all wanted the tour and to present our facility's award for the best safety record. Afterwards, we had smoked ribs & chicken, coleslaw, tater salad and banana (nanner around these parts) pudding. They let the guys go home early for the long Memorial Day weekend, too. Nice!

I took Jacob and a few of his buddies out to see Godzilla in Imax last night. It was great!

Now I'm off to the landfill to unload my trailer full of junk that came out of my shop last week. I have to get there early, because they close at noon on Saturday. How is a working man supposed to get anything done when the dump closes early on Saturday?!? LOL

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

I know I'm getting wordy this morning, but I had to tell y'all:

A couple days ago I told y'all I had to tell a few girls at lunchtime that they couldn't swim in our pool since we're never around. That afternoon, I came home from work and found a mess of duct tape scattered around my deck and in my yard. Also, the new swim goggles that Nancy bought for Elizabeth were gone.

My neighbor said that as soon as I left for work after lunch, she saw those girls climb my railing and jump in the pool. Then the girls found a roll of duct tape that I had left out and they tore it up into little pieces and threw it everywhere.

When I heard that, I looked across the street where the girls live and they were playing in their yard. I drove across the street, and they seemed so surprised when I stopped. They were still wet in their clothes. I said, "You girls went in my pool after I said you couldn't, didn't you?" They both had that deer-in-headlights look, and one of them nodded. I said, "And you made a mess in my yard with the roll of tape and took the new goggles, didn't you?" Same look, same girl nodded.

I told them that I wasn't going to their parents with it this time, but that they were not allowed in our yard again. I really hate doing that, but I can't abide retaliatory children who don't like being told no.

I heard later that day that another neighbor had to run them out of their pool after finding them in there uninvited. They had lied to the man who handles my neighbor's landscaping, saying they had permission.

It sounds like these children's parents need to start doing their job. I don't know them, they are recent renters, but they are never outside and the girls are just running around wild.

If I get many more complaints about these girls, the mayor might have to make a visit. :x

That was nice of your company!

Hope you can get some more things done before taking a trip to the landfill.

Have a great Saturday, Brad!

Oh my gosh! That is terrible!
I can see why you're worried & frustrated.

That was very easygoing of you not to go to their parents this time. I don't know if I could be that generous! Hope they appreciate it, and get the message this time. Bless your heart.

Good luck, I'll be thinking of you!

Good evening,

Just read through the posts pretty quickly, I am trying to get to sleep earlier than I have the last few nights.

We did it!!!! We bought a new car!!!! We agreed to a deal last night while we were at JP's baseball game, the payment is higher than we were anticipating but we still got a heck of a deal, and our interest rate is a lot lower than we were anticipating.
We are glad this whole ordeal is past us, and we picked it up earlier tonight.
It is a 2014 Chevy Spark, we went with new because of the lower interest rate and warranty, the used all had higher mileage, and we were leery of financing for a certain number of years and having it poop out on us before the term was over.
So after all the test drives we went for the little zippy car.
We test drove and looked at:
Chevy Sonic Hatchback
Chevy Cruze
Honda Civic
Saab 9-3 (I really liked that one, but the mileage was very high)
Nissan Xterra
a few more too, I just can't remember.
Here it is: (the black one)

Just so very happy this is done. It has been weighing on us since February.
Thank you all for the words of encouragement throughout the whole process, some days it really helped when things looked so bleak.

Today would have been my mother's 60th birthday, so it has been a little bittersweet in that regard. I miss her dearly.

Morning will be here too quickly.

Good night, everyone.

Congrats to you and your family on the new car! Very happy for you guys.

Happy Belated Birthday to your mother in heaven. (((Hugs))) to you Xmas.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be a beautiful day here with a high of 76 later this afternoon. I need to run to the grocery store but I'm trying to wait until the rest of the family figures out what I have to make for our cookout on Monday so I don't have to make two trips. It might be Monday before they decide though at the rate they are going. So for now, I'm just going to kick back and watch some Nascar coverage. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!

First, I have to commend you for your restraint....What did Mr. Frank Purdue used to say, "It takes a tough guy to make a tender chicken"???.
Well anyway, it takes a lot of strength/ restraint to handle things the way you did.

Yup, it sure sounds like there are no parenting going on over there at that house and when you open up your door and tell the kids to go without no supervision, that's what happens - kids running amuck~ I'm sure that all they need is just some parenting.... They are probably just used to doing whatever they want to do because they know there will be no ramifications to their actions. If that does not get taken care of while their young, look out when they become teenagers...

You know, maybe by setting up your camera or (wildlife camera) to catch them in the act and then if a government figure needs to become involved later on, a picture/ movie clip is worth a thousand words..... It will remove the your word against theirs scenario, because they already have disregarded your words once already~

Good Morning! It's a glorious, mild, sunny morning here. I'm sitting here enjoying a freshly brewed cup of Folgers classic roast coffee, just put some bacon in the cast iron skillet (I love the cast iron skillets) and waiting for my girl to get her noodle head out of bed. I'm going to do some electrical work, and some masonry point up work and cleaning and caulking today around the house.

I hope you all have a wonderful day today!
