Christmas Countdown - 2014

Hey everyone! The day is coming to an end and it was a great day. Jordan's party was so much fun we are all full of cake and ice cream. We will clean the house in the morning!!! We are heading into the heart of winter now. Jan 10th through feb 10th is generally classified as the "dead of winter" seems like I read that on the weather channel blog..lol...I am looking around my house right now and honest to goodness I have not taken down one Christmas decoration. I have thought about it and on the 2nd I even got the boxes down..but I looked for an excuse to leave them up. I could care less what our company thinks about it. I have taken down the outside decorations but the inside are still up and will be up for the next few days at least.With 5 inches of snow on the ground and a Holiday season that seemed to last 3 days and came and went so fast I find it impossible to take them down and put them up for 10 months!!!
Did anyone notice that Hallmark Channel announced Christmas countdown 2014 will start on November 1st this year. So I guess it is official that the Holidays season will begin the day after Halloween which is fine by me!
Our weather is beginning to get more interesting! We have 50 to 80 percent chances o snow until sunday with the total amount measuring 3 inches which will be great to replenish the old brown snow that has been on the ground for the last 2 months...Lows will be in the mid teens to low 10's with highs in the mid 30's so it will be slushy wet snow but snow nonetheless! Well goodnight everyone we are halfway through the work week...talk to everyone tomorrow!!!

I'm in 2 pair of socks and have 5 blankets on the bed. LOL No heat in our bedroom. Woo it's nippy! LOL 28 here now and therm in the room is showing it's 40. I know... it's a heatwave for most of you. LOL

We do have a room unit space heater, but the receptacle it plugs into in our room doesn't like it. The house is a 100 yr old farm house and we're learning as we go not everything has been updated everywhere. ;-)

Good freezin afternoon!!! Hope everyone is safe & warm!!! I can't believe I haven't logged on here since Friday!!! 2014 is flying already!!!

Crazy weather we are having. Yesterday UPS closed so hubby was home. I stayed home. Temps well below zero... My hubby blew a path from our driveway to our neighbors back door so all the neighbors could get to their house to play cards! We played marbles, 7up & screw your neighbor. We had veggie soup & chili soup for supper. Was a lot of fun!!! Great day off work. I came into work today but I worked through my lunch so I can leave early & I didn't have to go outside anymore than necessary! Brrrrr!!

Ok - I'm off to read as many posts as I can inbetween getting caught up on work!!!

Well I started the morning reading and thanking the posts and then --- the world knocked on my door. LOL

Noah is teaching at a seminar on the 16th in Sarasota. I won't be here. We found out around 8:30am that the person who is hosting this four-day seminar has only lightly marketed it and didn't do any individual marketing for the speakers individually. Noah's classes weren't full so we had to drop everything and spend the morning and early afternoon doing manic marketing, blog posts and social media.

Was almost finished with that and suddenly there was a major snafu with Bud's Dropbox and YouTube channels and several hours of footage. Three hours later and I now have that under control. *phew*

Right now - I'm sick of looking at my laptop and I didn't have time to take down any decorations. I'm going to start that in just a few minutes. I need to have it all done and put away before I leave town on Friday.

Hope everyone is doing well, no more black ice incidents or slips and you're all keeping warm. I listened to my favorite Pandora channel with Christmas carols all day today. It calms me and helps me focus and stay in a good mood regardless of the task at hand or how complicated. Bud teases me that I'm the only person who plays Perry Como's Christmas Album to enter the ring. LOL

I also learned today that my dogs associate Burl Ives' voice with cookies or treats. LOL The Pandora channel I choose ends up having a number of Burl Ives renditions and much of the speaking portions of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (Rankin/Bass version). It played today and suddenly they were all there at my feet, tails wagging. I thought, "What in the world are they doing?"

About an hour later it happened again with a different song and verbal piece, still Burl Ives. When it happened yet again a bit later, I deliberately put the movie on to see if they would do it again. Sure enough - Burl Ives' voice came on and there they were, happy as could be. Too cute! My dogs are Christmas-ites.

Hope you all have a great evening! If I don't pop in again this evening and get caught up - I'll catch up tomorrow. If nothing else, surely on the long drive on Colorado when Bud's in the driver's seat.

Good evening! Wow - I am finally caught up! We are the talkative bunch here! I stayed up for a little while - I finally got to watching "Let It Snow", one of the new movies that was on Hallmark from this year. I loved it! I work tonight though, so I am going to try and lay down for a quick nap.

What are you all up tonight? Hope you're all having a great evening and staying warm. I am off tomorrow and looking forward to it, as I always do! I can't wait! We have to go grocery shopping, but other than that, I plan to just stay in, spend time with DH and the kids.

Hello all. I can't catch up on the posts now but wanted to say hello. Just got done playing with the Barbie dream house with my daughter...her favorite Christmas present from this year.

My birthday day is winding down, my wife surprised me by picking up some stuffed chicken breasts because I have been saying I have been craving chicken croquettes. Only one place around here sells them and they are nearly 30 minutes away. So she tried to get the closest thing she could find, she is awesome. She also picked up a whoopee pie and a small cake for me.
Her and the boys also got me a new Santa Claus for my birthday present, she picked up for me on Black Friday from Kohl's.
It has been a great birthday, especially for my last one in my 30's.

I will post a picture of him after the one I won Ebay gets here.

Glad to hear you all had a fun time!! Some of my decorations are still up to, I'm not stressing over it. Our Christmas movies channel started in nov last year to. I always feel like it's the start of the season after Halloween anyway so I was very pleased!

Walking my son to school this morning, I was reminded of late September when the seasons were only just changing and we were all excited about the arrival of Fall.
I always look forward to the turn of the seasons. Each one brings rejuvenation and a variety of things to look forward to.

The weather here continues to be unusual. Severe storms and flooding in some parts. However, mild weather here these days which makes feel like something is brewing! *goosebumps*

I hope that things are getting better for all of you experiencing severe weather. Atleast we can all escape to the warmth of the Pines tonight!! I look forward to sitting by the roaring fire and sipping on one of Carl's blends..........
