I leave my window candles up until the first day of spring, I started that tradition a couple of years ago to ease my way out of all my other Christmas lights.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
As you know I wasn't on much. You know, family stuff and running around like a gingerbread man without his head haha. But everything has died down and I'm back! Wanted to share a few pictures with you from Christmas!
First 2 is Christmas morning. Note the middle of the tree, the lights went out! 2 days before Christmas! haha.

Ill be posting some more later on! Everyone have a good Christmas?
I do that too! Last year I left a winking Santa mug on my kitchen shelf all year, and a little Christmas pillow on my "library" sofa. I think I'll leave my Christmas mugs on the shelf for a while longer this year.
At the office, I keep a candy cane pen in my pen cup year-round. I made a reputation for myself this year as the office Christmas person, so I may sneak in another seasonal reminder or two!
I think that sounds like a great idea!!!!
There is a house up the street that does a mixture of white lights and multi lights. After Christmas the multi lights come down and red lights go up for Valentines day. Then they swap the red for green, for St. Patrick's day.
For me, it's the QUALITY of the posts here rather than the quantity that brings me back every day. We rack up nearly 60,000 posts not just to artificially inflate the count, but because we care so genuinely about each other that we're constantly checking in, sharing our thoughts, and keeping in touch.
If it were strictly about the number of posts, I wouldn't come here. It's about the people, not the stats. As long as it stays that way, I'll be here every day I'm able!
Happy 2014 to all and here we go again !!!!
I always leave at least one Santa out in my bedroom.
I leave a brass JOY trivet on the wall in my bedroom year-round as well as some of my cardinal collection, including the one I received from Head Elf when we did the gift exchange on here a few years back. There are Christmas and winter-themed wood pencils in my pencil glass year-round, too, that I use, esp. in the summer. I didn't find any to add to my collection this year so I may actually use every one of them when I do the Sunday newspaper puzzles.
MerryCarey, where do you find the candy cane pens? I haven't found any in the stores around here for years and am not sure if it would be a good idea to buy them online. I want the ones that smell like peppermint. cheesy
I'm off to work now. Walking home for the first time in about 3 weeks hope I can make it!!!
Went to the grocery store this morning an they already have an aisle for Valentines Day.
My son has a Crosby system. It looks old school 1940s, but plays 33s, 45s, CDs, mp3s and has a line in for anything else you might have. Burns any of the inputs to CD.
For Christmas, I found an original 45 of the first song my grandfather ever played for my father on which my grandfather was a back up musician. He told me about the song for years. It took me years but I found that 45 in the jacket in immaculate condition. I burned both sides of the record to a CD so my dad could listen, but preserve the record. That system did it wonderfully.
I know there are many out there, but I'm partial to the old time look of the Crosby.

Happy New Year, MMC! I wish you and your families all a safe, happy, healthy, and prosperous 2014! May God bless you all!
One of my resolutions is to try to post at least once on MMC every single day. Why? I love this place and to me, it's not about just being here around Christmas-time. I like to keep in touch with you all because we've grown to be good friends. I like to see how everyone is doing, how everyone is feeling, and what's new with you and your families.
I am going to try my absolute best to keep my resolution. There are 1,440 minutes in a day - there is no excuse as to why I can't spend at least 5-10 minutes on here every day! ♥
I have been applying for jobs like crazy the past week or so. It's so nervewracking! I have received a lot of emails for positions that I am not interested in. I guess it's going to take some time and patience, that's for sure! I applied for two I am really interested in at the end of last week. I don't think I will hear back until late this week or next week (if at all) because of New Years Eve/New Years Day.
You all have been chatty! Off to catch up on 27 pages - lol!
Can you get ahold of a digital recorder? I bought one a few years ago when I was doing some recording for Librivox. We have a combined turntable/cassette/CD/radio unit, and I use a patch cord to connect the headphone jack to the line-in of my digital recorder. (I can't listen in, though, unless I connect an mini-speaker to the recorder.) Then I download the files to my computer, separate the songs (you need software that allows you to edit audio files; I like Audacity, which is free and has a lot of features), fill in the MP3 tags, and I'm in business.
If you don't have a digital recorder, there is hardware out there that allows you to connect a turntable or cassette player to a computer so you can record directly in the computer with recording software (Audacity is good for this, too). They also make turntables and cassette players that connect directly to a computer.
But any of these solutions runs into money. Something to ask Santa for next year ...
Just sneaking in again while I wait for my lift to work... How does a member show work?
Jeff posted last year for volunteers to do a radio show for airing during the final hours of Santa tracking on Kringle Radio. Some of us volunteered and he later posted the details of what we needed to do. It was a lot of fun!
Hope all had a great New Years eve and wonderful new years day today. looking forward to the countdown with you guys. sucked about the bulldogs just losing![]()

I decided to go to work today and not a soul was here but me. So, I turned on my computer and did a full virus scan on it (which took a little over 2 hours) and while the computer was doing that, I kicked back, propped my feet up and took a nap for those 2 hours as well..... Not to bad working on a holiday!:???:
Well, I guess I'm going to get out of here and head home, go home and make a fire in the fireplace, have some steamed shrimp, cut up some cheese and smoked salmon, kick back and put on the Polar Express~:rudolph:
Hallmark Christmas movies ended today at 10, last year didn't they go through January 2. I hate when there is no more Christmas shows on TV.
(at least I have a pretty full DVR of Christmas) cheesy
