I remember several years before I joined here I was on another site that had multiple subjects to discuss on it, not just Christmas, they had everything. I did join in on a Christmas thread and my jaw just dropped when this one lady said her husband does not allow her to watch Christmas movies until after Thanksgiving. He even hid all the Christmas DVD's in the basement and she was not ALLOWED to get into them. What???!!! Allowed??? She seemed to think this was just fine and would mention how she wanted to watch a Christmas movie in September and would ask for permission to watch one but he would say "no". I mean, come on! I can understand that he does not want to watch them or maybe ask her can she watch them when he is not around so he doesn't have to see or hear it but even if he was gone for the day at work she could not have access to them, ever! They were her movies and she didn't even know where he hid them.

No one would be ALLOWED to hide my Christmas movies!!! I would have to hit them with a candy cane! :lol:

I would have a very hard time with that - I think that would have been a deal breaker for me, before we even became married!

We've had customers in the plant for a couple days, but they're gone back home, so I have to catch up again.

It's so hot I think I'll jump in the pool this afternoon. Even that water is warm, but surely it's better than the 98° ambient temperature.

Good afternoon!
Welll, I had an interesting lunch! I got home & they were digging a hole in our back yard! YAY!!!! I talked to TR (the guy digging) & there were lines on the ground, so OUPS had been there! Double YAY!!! I'm in the house & all the sudden everything goes silent & dark in the house. Hmmmmm! I walked outside & asked him if he was cussin....YUP! Hit the main power line to the house! Where OUPS marked it & where it actually was, was off by better than 6'! WHOOPS! So we have no electric at home. Electric Co has been called, so hopefully they get there quick. I'm glad it wasn't TR's fault. I could tell he felt bad! I'm charging my cell phone & my portable cell charger at work - just in case! I hope this isn't a sign how the whole project is going to go! :-? Lol! Could be worse...

Love your attitude about it all! Anytime something like that goes wrong I immediately count my blessings because you are right, it could be worse! It's a temporary problem and life goes on! Still kind of a pain to deal with but hopefully your electricity will be back on soon - keep smiling!

Yay, Yay and YAY!!! I just went to Bath and Body Works website and they already have my favorite fall candle out - Pumpkin Cupcake!!! I saw a few more as well! Last year I was "bugging them" (in the nicest way of course!) in late August and they still didn't have them. So glad they have them now! Yipeeeee!!!!

That particular one I like is still full price but a few other fall ones are on sale. I will hold out for my favorite one when it goes on sale, they run sales constantly. In the meantime, I need to buy up the others!

Holiday, they have some pine ones on sale! I have bought them before and still have some, they smell great!

I know Yankee Candles tend to be a favorite but I like Bath and Body Works a little more. Just my preference is all. =)

Thanks Cetacea! I'm not looking for a job right now, it kind of just fell in to my lap. I was a little too enthusiastic while shopping there and the hiring manager told me to fill out an application. I also turned down an offer at Hallmark. If they let me choose my hours it may have worked but I couldn't do that. I'm just not ready to work outside of the house yet.

It's good to see you all again! I was slammed at work yesterday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. By the time I got home, rested a few minutes, and ate some supper, MMC was offline and I didn't get to check in before bedtime.

Today is shaping up to be one of those little-things-go-wrong days. I had to copy something in a hurry, and the copier went down. I needed a plastic teaspoon, and they were all gone. I came on the forum here, and saw a web banner running that I proofread last month! Vacation is surely over! I envy you who are still looking forward to yours.
