Such a nice experience!

The agency I work for did a website for Franciscan nuns a few months back. Today three of the sisters brought us a lunch they made themselves: a hot dish, rice, and bread---even Franciscan wine. They gave us each a keychain with St. Francis on it. We've had clients send lunch in to us before as a thank-you---but we never had clients who personally MADE us lunch before and brought it to us. I enjoyed meeting the sisters.

That sure is a very nice way to say Thank you to someone~:-D

Good Afternoon, MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be hot here today. The hottest day of the year as a matter of fact. Yuck!!!! Bring back the Polar Vortex!!!! LOL!!! It looks like storms will move in tonight and then some strong storms tomorrow. Not a whole lot going on here today. I have a few projects that I need to work on along with my normal daily chores. I ran into office depot and office max with my sister this morning so she could get some of the school supplies they had on sale. They had a limit of 3 so she went through with 3 and I went through with 3. Then we stopped by Sams club and I picked up some chocolate chocolate chip muffins. YUM!!! I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Shhhh! I don't want to hear that "back to school" phrase!!! :lol: I hope the rest of your day can be in the AC!!! And hopefully the storms aren't too bad!! Stay cool! Hope the choc. chip muffins are yummy!!!

Thanks!!! Yep, we are going again this year! Our friends/neighbors actually have a suite this year they want us to come too. I'm hoping we can at least go check it out. I hear they are very nice!! :grin:

That's awesome Merry! I bet it was delicious too! I have a cookbook written by the sisters of the Shrine & there are some yummy things in there. And they bake this bread....oh my! They sell it every year at our town festival & that's the only time you can get it. I always get a loaf. It's wonderful!!!

Are you kidding? Next Thursday?? I bet our nephews go back soon then too. WOW! That seems crazy! Where did summer go?? Our school doesn't start till Aug. 23 or 24 I think.

Yep. They didn't even wait until August this year. They are starting on July 31st. It's crazy.

I just looked up our nephews school & yep - they start July 31st too! That just makes me say UGH!!!!

This last hour at work today is taking...forever! :-?

Oh no...sorry to hear that about the leak. I hope he is able to fix it pretty quick so he can get back to the kitchen! I am patiently waiting for pictures. LOL!!! ;-)
We have hit a snag with just about everything we are trying to do!! :lol: We have a plugged tile in the back yard - figuring it's tree roots - cheap plastic tile back there, so that is why the trencher is coming to put in new PVC tile - hopefully tomorrow! Also have a leak in the basement which is why the plumber is coming tomorrow. And when hubby tore out the soffit, found they ran plumbing right down inside the soffit. Which is where our new cabinet - with windows in the top - is going to go. Plumber is going to check that out tomorrow too. Geesh! Add on top the fact that they hit the power main when they dug the hole & DPL still has not been out to trench in the new electric wire, so that is laying bare on top of the grass...we have to watch Gracie pretty close so she doesn't chew on it. I am not asking what's next. LOL!

Here's a peek at the progress so far in the kitchen. I posted a similar picture a couple of weeks ago, not sure if you missed it or not. There hasn't been any progress in weeks. There's so much more to do!

Thanks Holiday! My hubby is almost finished spackling my daughters room, he should be able to paint soon and get back to the kitchen.
I know what you're going through, we've run in to so many unexpected problems along the way.

Thank you so much! My husband is addicted to Houzz, that's where he gets most of his ideas. The stone for the counter tops should be here next week. My husband still has to decide what he's going to do on the back splash. We're also trying to find a new chandelier. Oh and there is going to be a window seat under that window that you see. I promise I'll post pictures when it's finished.
