Well our plans for a trip down to Philadelphia today for Labor Day Weekend had to be cancelled because we couldn't find anyone to watch out dog. Instead we chose somewhere closer, and headed into Brooklyn and Queens. The rain stayed away and the temperature stayed low making for another perfect day! We started out at the Smorgasburg food festival in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. After eating some great food, we headed over to Flushing Meadows park and visited the Queens Museum and their exhibits on the Worlds Fairs that were held there. A great day all around!

YAY.....our yearly fair (carnival) The Backfischfest has started today!!!! Tomorrow is the big parade.....love our Backfischfest!!!

Also.....the grocery stores have started to put out Christmas chocolates, ginger bread and stollen......it´s that time of the year again........YAY

Enjoy the fair!

I may be a little late, but Happy Saturday!

Sunny and breezy today, nice temps … now the light is getting low. So quiet and nice just now! I'm enjoying my "library" sofa---had that for just about a year now. This time of year and this time of day is so pleasant here.

I went to the Christmas Tree Shop and Jo-Ann last week. At the office there's a brick wall next to my desk. For the summer, I put a brick clip on it and hung a sign I bought in Hawaii that says Aloha Spoken Here, and I have a welcome mat next to my desk with an aloha theme. I decided to get a fall sign and welcome mat. I couldn't find a sign I wanted but I found a pumpkin decoration to hang, a fall welcome mat with a "fallen leaves" design, and a "gobble gobble gobble" welcome mat for Thanksgiving. When I was at Christmas Tree Shop, one of the workers mentioned that the Christmas stuff will be coming out soon! I'll go back to get another sign or wall decoration and another welcome mat.

Well mom's appointment didn't go that well. Her blood is to thin again. So they changed her blood thinner dosage again and we get to go back next weekend. The doctor said she gives up and that she has never had anyone bounce around like this.

Sorry to hear. I hope it gets sorted out real soon!

I am glad you enjoyed your day.

When my husband and I went to New York a few years ago we missed our stop when we rode on the subway and ended up in Brooklyn. It made us a bit nervous because we felt a little lost since it was our first time riding on it. The guy at the ticket booth was really nice, let us back on and told us where we needed to go. We are hoping to make another trip back there this December!

It sounds like your office is very festive!
I think it's important to be surrounded by things that can make you smile. I find myself to be more productive, that way.

I agree! I also have a toy barn that was my dad's on the windowsill next to my desk. During the Christmas season I put the Rudolph characters inside and the Bumble Monster on top. And a small lighted tree on my desk.

I love that! Sounds very festive & cozy! I'm sure the barn brings back many wonderful memories.
