My first trip to New York was October 2011. We were up in Maryland visiting my husband's family and made a day trip to New York. It was nearly a 4 hour trip there and back so we didn't have a lot of time to spend there. We went to the 911 Memorial then to Central Park to see John Lennon's memorial Imagine. That is all we had time for but the city was impressive. I am wanting to go back to see the 911 museum now since that wasn't there when we first went.
We will be up in Maryland again and it looks like it was be another day trip there again so we got to make the most of it. I have to see that Rockefeller Tree!!
That sounds great! The 9/11 Museum is very powerful and beautifully designed and set up. If I may suggest something, look into the Bank of America Winter Village. It's an ice skating rink, Christmas shopping village, and restaurant set up in Bryant Park every year, a small park just a couple blocks from both Rockefeller Center and Times Square. The main branch of the New York Public Library is right next to the park too. It's really cool to walk around, and really gets you into the Christmas spirit!
