Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good morning MMC! Happy, Happy Friday!

We had a nice bike ride last night to the restaurant - we sat outside to eat - it was pretty dark for our ride home, but most of us have lights on our bikes. It was a really nice night! Everybody made it except my hubby & 1 of my BIL's! Then when I got home, I had a sink full of tomatoes waiting for me! The tomato fairy never showed up! So, I made tomato juice - still needs to be canned, but at least the worst part of the job is over ~ I'm just happy to have a kitchen to can in again!

I have to get a bike again, love hearing about your bike trips. I loved riding and used to do it often. Sounds like an absolutely wonderful evening for you all.

Merry Friday! Another week over! Next week is the last full week of September - incredible how fast this month is going! I am not wishing away September but I am super excited for October.

Thank you for the prayers and well wishes for Mr Festive. He is still under the weather and off work today. It 's nothing to worry about though , just a virus but it's really knocked him flat.

Not much planned for weekend. Just staying in tomorrow and work on Sunday. But I am happy with a free and easy Saturday.

Yes this month has really flown by, only 3 weeks till Thanksgiving, we are having family in from Calgary Alberta and Vermont this year. Going to be a nice get together !
I have to work on Saturday but have Sunday off. Sunday is the walk for autism and me and my son are going in that.

Happy Friday, folks!

I have a day off from work and am going to putter around the house working on what I darn well please. Except for one "must do"---I have to update my iPad to iOS 8, and I'm not looking forward to it. I usually hit a snag or two during updates. But I'll make a cup of tea, take a deep breath, and begin.

Also waiting to hear the results of a photo contest at my office. The challenge was a group photo---any group of employees. No other rules, really, except that it has to be submitted before 3 p.m. today. Together the six people (and one dog) in my department came up with an idea: one of our guys is a photographer, and two of our guys use Photoshop professionally. The photog took full-figure pics of everyone; then the two guys will use Photoshop to scramble whose head goes on which body and which body on which legs, and create a mixed-up group photo. I haven't seen it, but it should be a scream! I'll logon later in the day to see which group won. There's a cash prize for the winning photo. (One girl in our group is participating in two photos. The rules, such as they are, don't say you can't, but I personally don't think it's kosher for her to have TWO chances at the prize…) Anyway, wish us luck!

P.S. Just saw the first draft---oh boy, it's good!
(Apologies for not posting it, but I have to consider the privacy of my co-workers.)

It is going to be a nice day, sunny with a high of 65 degrees.
I straightened up the house, started laundry and got dinner started in the crock pot so far. I have a few more chores I want to get out of the way before I head in to the preschool. I'll be back later this afternoon.

I heard we came in second---no prize. Too bad, it was a fun picture! I don't feel like I should post it because I don't have the permission of the others in the picture. So just trust me that it was good! cheesy

Yeah, the update didn't work. I ultimately had to reset to factory settings and then restore from a backup, but I still had to re-download my apps and re-synch my music. But at least I'm up and running again.

Ahhh, Friday night and the weekend ahead!

First of all: Our family computers are down so I am am stuck using my crappy phone so if you thought I had errors before just you wait!! I am tyring I promise!

I got home yesterday and I want to thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers while I was gone, to be honest It was hard while I was gone and I hardly had time to do anything but work...the military is not the same as it was 20 years ago when I joined, but I guess you could say that about any corp these days. Anywho... I am waiting for fall to arrive...it's still mild and everythin is till green. Usually the changes occur in eearly to mid October! I missed yall so much but I am back and I have 2 weeks until I go back to service. Brandi has gone back to teaching in early august and loves it, I will change the hours I work to I can stay home with my boys and work in the afternoon and night!!! can't wait to meet the new members here and talk to my old pals..it's been 4 years this month since I joined! TTYL!

Good evening,

I finished catching up tonight, after I couldn't get back on the site last night.

I had a day off yesterday, but I have also come down with a nasty cold that is just zapping any energy I have. I bought some cold medicine yesterday and took it, it was right next to the Dayquil, it had the same color label but it was the generic version. I took it when I got home and it knocked me out. It didn't say anywhere on the front of the label about drowsiness, but I was in a coma from this stuff. I was on MMC when I fell asleep, laptop on my lap ready to peruse the posts. I woke up 90 minutes later to the bus outside blaring it's horn. We have to be outside when the kids get dropped off for safety reasons, I must have looked like a drunk walking out to get the kids, swaying and stumbling down the stairs. I felt so embarrassed.

When I got home from work today, the book I ordered came in. It is called "The Christmas Vault" From what I have looked at it so far it is a real fun book, very interactive. It has a lot of vintage pictures, postcards, even some magnets with vintage pictures on them. I have enjoyed looking at it so far, but I really can't wait to fully dive into it.

I am going to bed soon, I am debating whether or not I should take the coma juice. cheesy

The finest man I ever knew died yesterday. In my 56 years I was always secure in knowing that whenever I needed him, he would be there. Throughout my life he modeled God's by loving me unconditionally while expecting nothing in return. I love you and will miss you terribly dad.
