Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

The County Commission has called a meeting for Tuesday to discuss the fire department, that is currently operated by another city here in the county. The county administrator is convinced that the county can operate the fire department much cheaper than the city, but the city disputes that. Each city, including Bellville, has an agreement with that city to provide fire department services, so each city has to decide whether to stay or go with the county.

That mayor just called me and talked to me for a half hour about the benefits of staying with them. The county admin wants to come to my office to explain the benefits of going with the county. Well see what happens next week.

Ugh. Why did I ever get into politics? LOL

because of all the closed roads there are staff that cannot make it in tonight, so I just got called in to work 5 to 9:30. Has been almost a year since I have worked that late.
Only 4 1/2 hours and I get to work with teenagers so I can stand around and do nothing all night just like they do ! LOL

well that was the quickest work day i ever had! They just called back, apparently they had it covered, just neglected to talk to each other before calling me.
Now i get to stay home and warm instead.

Quitting time! YAY!! Gracie is going on a field trip to the auto shop where my (other) sister works - they want to see her there! :lol: Then we are stopping at Gma/Gpa's. Then home to make stuffed shells, then our friends are coming over later. BIG night for Gracie. Ha ha!

Happy Thursday Christmas Friends,

Hope you are all having a great week. Work has been SO busy I have been having to put in some OT this week..our busy season has started early this year. (I work from home for a health insurance company in the sales area). It is so cold here in CT...ugh! And they are forecasting 6+ inches of snow starting Sunday night into Mon evening so I am sure my kids will have the day off. I am looking forward to one last storm to close out the winter season if it ever ends!

Can you believe tomorrow we are into the 200 day countdown...yay!! :gift:

Still raining..I think that will be the case all day. Still watching tv. and still feeling crummy. Although my brother in California just called and him and his wife are expecting their 3 rd child around Nov 5. So that is exciting news. Nothing else to report just waiting on my Dr to call in a rx so I can get hopefully some sleep and get de-cluttered so to speak.
@christmasstar glad you don't have to get out on the ice/snow...Is march a typically heavy snow month for you guys?

I would benign one heck of a beef bender right now if I were you!

I'm trying to lose weight and make healthier choices...I just want to see if I can give burgers up for one month. Then I'll go back in moderation but not once a week like I do now.

But all beef for Lent would be so hard. I wish you luck! It's days like this I'm glad I'm Baptist!

Good afternoon MMC! Happy Friday Eve! Woo Hoo! I've got another hour until quitting time! Ready to go home & crank up the furnace!!!
We had some "excitement" around here yesterday. There was an armed robbery about 5 miles from our house - it was at a friends of ours parents house. Someone knocked on their door & his Dad answered the door, a young guy pushed his way in, pulled a gun & told them he needed a vehicle. Our friend was there on the computer so Dad called for his son & the guy pulled a knife on him. He led them out into their building where the pick up truck was made them lay down, told them if they turn him in, he will be out of jail in 15 years or less & he would be back!
About a month ago our neighbors truck was stolen from the park across the street from our house. He had his truck running while he was walking his dog in the park (at night) & someone drove off with his truck. They found his truck 2 weeks later in Cincinnati, at a Walmart parking lot where the snow plow driver is the only person who noticed it had been sitting there for 2 weeks, the only things missing were his gum & change. surveillance cameras show the guy getting out of the truck, he went into Walmart, & someone picked him up 1 1/2 hours later. WEIRD! Stuff like this doesn't happen around here so everyone is FREAKED OUT! I made Jim go out with Gracie in the middle of the night cuz I was spooked! I hate it! Obviously the guy yesterday wasn't worried about them recognizing him (everybody knows everybody here) so where are these people coming from??? They need to go away! UGH! The Sheriff thinks the 2 incidents are related - hopefully they catch them soon!!!!!
My co-worker & his wife (who are also friends of ours & huge dog lovers) are coming over tonight to see Gracie. Looking forward to it! Hope you are all having a great Thursday!!!
