Nothing surprises me anymore

We still have 22 inches on the ground, frozen, and lots of glare ice on the roads.

We have had the third coldest winter in the history of the city, and most consistent below zero temps.

I have cabin fever!

Yearning for a "normal" winter when you can still play outside! ️

Thankfully the warm up here last week melted most of the snow. All that is left is the huge piles everywhere. We set a record at 48 days with at least 6 inches of snow on the ground though before then.

We were sitting at the 3rd coldest winter here too up until then too. Now we have fallen down to the 7th with an average temp of 24. I'm not sure where we are as far as records go with below zero temps. We are close to 20 days now with lows below zero.

We had some "excitement" around here yesterday. There was an armed robbery about 5 miles from our house - it was at a friends of ours parents house. Someone knocked on their door & his Dad answered the door, a young guy pushed his way in, pulled a gun & told them he needed a vehicle. Our friend was there on the computer so Dad called for his son & the guy pulled a knife on him. He led them out into their building where the pick up truck was made them lay down, told them if they turn him in, he will be out of jail in 15 years or less & he would be back!
About a month ago our neighbors truck was stolen from the park across the street from our house. He had his truck running while he was walking his dog in the park (at night) & someone drove off with his truck. They found his truck 2 weeks later in Cincinnati, at a Walmart parking lot where the snow plow driver is the only person who noticed it had been sitting there for 2 weeks, the only things missing were his gum & change. surveillance cameras show the guy getting out of the truck, he went into Walmart, & someone picked him up 1 1/2 hours later. WEIRD! Stuff like this doesn't happen around here so everyone is FREAKED OUT! I made Jim go out with Gracie in the middle of the night cuz I was spooked! I hate it! Obviously the guy yesterday wasn't worried about them recognizing him (everybody knows everybody here) so where are these people coming from??? They need to go away! UGH! The Sheriff thinks the 2 incidents are related - hopefully they catch them soon!!!!!
My co-worker & his wife (who are also friends of ours & huge dog lovers) are coming over tonight to see Gracie. Looking forward to it! Hope you are all having a great Thursday!!!

Come out to Metro West. There's one in Natick and one in Framingham. A neighbor gave us a gift card for Christmas---her son works there.

They say there's a chance we'll get less if the storm tracks further east. That would drive the heaviest snow a little southward. We can only wait and see.
