We just got word that our office is closed tomorrow. I don't know yet whether that means "work from home" or "snow day." I'm hoping for a snow day!

The timing of this storm is perfect, coming right after the holidays before everything has gotten back up to speed again, so it isn't very busy.

I'm hoping that Mr. can get out a little earlier to beat the heaviest snow, which is arriving later tonight. But his partner is out today, so he may have to stay until 7 p.m. to cover. Hoping that other people there will leave early so there won't be any work coming in to him.

Here's the latest map from Accuweather for the East Coast starting tonight~

Hi everyone!

We were supposed to get up to 8 inches of snow here but so far it's been a bust - only an inch or so! I'm sure I will have plenty of more chances for snow this winter, though!

Where are you located? If you're in the East, your heaviest snow may be arriving later today or tonight. That's what's happening here---a few inches throughout the day, but heavy snow overnight and into Friday morning.

One of my co-workers just informed me that another storm is supposed to come in sometime around Sunday-Tuesday??? I can't confirm that yet but it does look like on Accu-weather that something is brewing in the Midwest and heading East....

They are talking a major storm here Saturday night into Sunday. 10+ inches.

Okay, 6 cars have been shoveled out, now I'm just taking a break before i do another pass on the sidewalk.

Hallmark Christmas movies ended today at 10, last year didn't they go through January 2. I hate when there is no more Christmas shows on TV.

(at least I have a pretty full DVR of Christmas) cheesy

I'm pretty sure - I thought I remember watching the movies all day on New Years last, since I wasn't interested in the teams too much, who were playing football.

Hope all had a great New Years eve and wonderful new years day today. looking forward to the countdown with you guys. sucked about the bulldogs just losing :(

Happy New Year!

Yuck!!!!!!!

You don't know what you're missing! It just may be one of the things I cook for you, when you come to visit! :-D

Good Morning, Folks!

Regular countdown duities resume for yours truly as we move boldly into yet another year of counting and anticipating here at the great site of MMC.

Straight to the count.......and to a sudden realization of just how close we are to Milestone # 1!
Days to the Season: 315
Days to Christmas Day: 357

And the statistics tell the tale and point the way to our first Milestone: the 300-day Season window.
It's just a mere 2 weeks from tomorrow, Guys!
(Is it too early to issue a "WOW!"?)

We have started out cold - but not too cold - here in January where it is clear and 41 degrees at this hour.
Should be a nice sunny day, though, with no precip in the immediate forecast.

OK.
You have a Thoroughly Thrilling Thursday, Everyone!
(And guess what? Weekend Eve tomorrow already!)

Friday morning here does that make me closer?

none what so ever, only thing different was half a glass of a fruit wine my daughter bought, but wine never bothered me before.
I did go back to sleep about an hour later.
Stomach still kind of queasy this morning, but better than when I woke.

I need to get back to regular diet and off the elf diet! (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002071/?ref_=tt_trv_quWe elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.)

Glad it's a little better and that you got back to sleep. Time for the reindeer diet grass and grains to prepare for the big ride in 357 days and counting?

I am not usually a fan of New Years Day but I must say this is one has been a nice one!

Snow-in-Texas first went to my job. We are closed today but we went in to feed the animals. From there we went to the lake to ride our bikes and feed the ducks. The weather has been very mild today but will get chilly tomorrow. Our tradition on New Years Day is to take down our outdoor Christmas lights and my son helps. We always go out to lunch together afterward. To our surprise, as we pulled up in the driveway, my son was taking down the last strand of lights off the house! He didn't even wait on us, he did it by himself. I was thrilled because it slightly depresses me to do it so he saved me from that! We unloaded the bikes, cleaned up and went out to lunch. Then headed over to Starbucks for coffee. We are just relaxing now.

The indoor decorations will stay up awhile longer. I will take it down when I am ready. Maybe just keep them up until Christmas in July! Does that sound like a plan? What do you think? cheesy

That was so nice of your son to do that! I'm glad you guys had a great day. I love your idea of keeping your decorations up until CIJ. I would do it if DH would let me!

It's time to go, the wife just called and told me that it's starting to snow at home...I was hoping to get a jump on the weather before it actually started snowing.. Oh this is going to be fun....41 miles to home~
