American expression most often used by men. Refers to things your significant other has on their list of chores that they need you to do or help them with for one reason or another. "Honey, will you please do..." Now referred to as the Honey-Do list.

A honey dew, however, is a totally awesome melon that I could live on. That, and Christmas cookies of course. :-)

Love it! I'm going to start that here!

We just got word that our office is closed tomorrow. I don't know yet whether that means "work from home" or "snow day." I'm hoping for a snow day!

The timing of this storm is perfect, coming right after the holidays before everything has gotten back up to speed again, so it isn't very busy.

I'm hoping that Mr. can get out a little earlier to beat the heaviest snow, which is arriving later tonight. But his partner is out today, so he may have to stay until 7 p.m. to cover. Hoping that other people there will leave early so there won't be any work coming in to him.

Yea for a snow day!!! Hope he makes it home quickly. :-)

ROFL I tell my family that all the time. "One day... when I grow up... I'm going to be the head elf in charge of reindeer's care, health and fitness at the North Pole."

I'd like to work in Santa's kitchen or in sleigh packing or the wrapping station or naughty nice or this or that and everything!!!!!

One of my co-workers just informed me that another storm is supposed to come in sometime around Sunday-Tuesday??? I can't confirm that yet but it does look like on Accu-weather that something is brewing in the Midwest and heading East....

So far from what I've heard it is only suppose to be a rain event here, but who knows, weather changes in a blink of an eye in New England.

Okay, read through all of the posts, to tired to respond to all of them though.

So I'm glad that it sounds like most of you are having a good time. Praying for those that need it, and hoping that everyone stays safe!!!

Then in July you could just decide to keep them up until Christmas, it is only 5 months from that point. cheesy

I agree with Xmas - just leave them up all year around! :-D

EI am all caught up!!! For now. LOL. I'm sure in a few hours I'll be 10 pages behind again.

Good Morning MMC!! No real plans much for today. My husband goes back on tour on the 8th so other than some general business stuff we're trying to do nothing. LOL

Our tree is still up, because, like I said we celebrate Epiphany. All our lights are still up outside and lit till then too. I will be in a mad rush on the 7th to dismantle everything because I'm going with Bud when he leaves. First stop is in Colorado so long drive for us. Over the course of the week we'll see Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona. A friend who lives north of San Francisco is having to drive her FIL's RV to Atlanta, GA for him so she's picking me up in Phoenix and we're road tripping back.

I have to be back by the morning of the 23rd to go with Noah down to Miami for a competition. Ridiculous. The kid graduated HS when he was 15, teaches seminars to grown men, but he can't check into a hotel without his mommy present because he's a few months shy of 18. Again I say - Ridiculous. Note here he wouldn't be totally on his own in Miami LOL. I'm not crazy. He needs a hotel room though and I have to be present.

Big decisions for us over the next week. Have to decide how we want our business to go from here - with a partner or on our own. We started business in 2000. We took on a partner in 2010. That was such a blessing to me, so I'm a little leary of taking back over everything 100%. We've talked about taking on another partner but it's a daunting decision because it means being able to trust someone you don't really know all that well with a portion of your livelihood.

Oh well... it'll all work out. :-)

My son and nephew went to the store last night for some things for Noah's Jon boat. They had the presence of mind to buy me a new Wolf calendar. I love stuff like that. :-) When someone sees something small, and stops to get it for you, because it reminded them of you or knew you needed it. :-) That's just the best!

I agree with the feeling you get from those thoughtful spontaneous gifts. We are pretty strapped for cash so it's flowers from the side of the road or Cadbury chocolate!!
You sound do busy... and it's so lovely Noah needs you... it ends too soon... or I might just be too lazy. What's a Jon boat?

The school cancellations are now up to 32, but our town is still not on the list, yet.

I have to take my mother in law and her dog to the vet tomorrow, her dog is 16 years old and he hasn't eaten anything in a week. We have all wheel drive now, so I volunteered to bring them so she doesn't miss the appointment due to the weather. If you all could, please say a prayer or a thought for her dog Billy, he isn't doing too well.

Praying for Billy. Keep us updated on this condition. Stay safe on the roads.

Just got the call, school cancelled for tomorrow!!!!! No decision for Friday!!!

Wooohooo!!!!

Half of my wish has come true!!!

:???::???::???:

It's time to go, the wife just called and told me that it's starting to snow at home...I was hoping to get a jump on the weather before it actually started snowing.. Oh this is going to be fun....41 miles to home~

Take it slow & easy on your ride home.

No. LOL Our son is the musician around here. Please don't ask Bud to touch any of Noah's guitars. LOL

Bud is a strength coach, author, motivational speaker and professional performing strongman (think Ringling Bros old school, minus the animal print unitard and gladiator boots LOL). For the last three years he's been doing an anti-bullying assembly for kindergarten-12th grade. He tours the country leaving in September, flying home for a few days on Thanksgiving, drives home at Christmas usually here by Christmas Eve, then leaves again the 1st or 2nd week of January. Comes home again in June. He does between 10 and 15 shows per week and averages around 1000 miles per week.

On weekends he does strength seminars for professional athletes. It's a full schedule. LOL

Urk! Well, once a snowy pattern gets started, it's not too unusual to see a chain of snowstorms. I'm glad I bought a roof rake a few years ago!

I haven't been outside today, but I read online that the snow is incredibly dry and light. I'm glad to hear that, because I'll have to keep the driveway open so Mr. can get in. Still no sign of his office letting people go early.

I hope Mr. can get out early.

Thank you so so much. I truly appreciate that. :-)

What we find with most people is that determination is usually coming from the wrong place. Especially with Christmasites who generally are giving people who think of everyone else first, the mindset is wrong. Everyone phrases it as though it's something you do for yourself. For most people that's the last person you do something for in a normal given day.

You're asking your brain to change two pivotal things at one time and for some - three. That's a lot and at some point the psyche says, "Ta heck with you guys, I'm goin' home!!"

Most people who have the greatest success with this first phrase it - "I'm doing this for my kids.". Or if they don't have kids, then, "I'm doing this for my wife/husband/significant other." Who ever or whatever that thing or person is that makes you wake up in the morning and feel grateful you're alive - that's who you do it for.

I won't save a dime for myself to do anything, but you can bet that most everything my son needed or was interested in I found a way to save the money to make it happen. A commitment to health is the same way. Barring unforseen accidents - being smart about healthy choices is a commitment to your children and loved ones that you'll be here as long as you can within your own power.

And throw out words from your vocabulary like, "diet," "weight loss," and "fat." They're useless and will stop you in your tracks. Just pick one small thing every day to change. "Today I'm going to drink a glass of water in place of that 3rd soda." Each day, each week, change another small thing and give yourself time for your mind to adapt to the changes. That's really one of the keys to it.

I thankyou wholeheartedly for this. Although I do like the feeling better aspect of exercise (or just moving in my case) it sounds selfish doing it for myself; maybe if I told myself the benefits help me participate in my kids lives more and help with lashing the kayaks to the roof of the 4WD I will have more drive during my walking routine which is becoming a chore.

Okay, 6 cars have been shoveled out, now I'm just taking a break before i do another pass on the sidewalk.
Is your ankle already that much better?!
:o
