Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good afternoon, MMC!

I'm sitting by the window in the kitchen, watching the snow fall. It is very pretty - reminds me of the night I stumbled across MMC. Hard to believe that was over 5 years ago now.

I finally finished the afghan I was crocheting. :???:

As I was laying it out on the bed in preparation for taking a picture, Palmer jumped right in the center of it. Her claws get caught in things fast so I shooed her off and put the afghan in a tote bag. I'll take a picture of it at my cousin's house - I promised her one a couple of years ago. The next item I am going to finish is the scarf I have been knitting - when that is done I just might have the first Christmas gift of 2014 made. cheesy

Good morning!
We have a blizzard warning issued for this evening in to tomorrow afternoon. The winds are picking up and the roads are already slippery. I just dropped my daughter off at work, I don't want the kids driving today. We could see up to 10 inches of snow, we'll see what happens. I ran to the supermarket last night and the butcher this morning so I'm all set.
My husband's vacation is over, he headed back in to work today. I thought he would get more done around the house this past week but it didn't happen. Oh well. Maybe my house will be finished next Christmas!
Not too much else going on here today. I will be cleaning. The girls rooms are a mess. They still have Christmas gifts all over the place. My two youngest are home today so I think its a good day to tackle their rooms.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
And I hope everyone dealing with this winter weather stays safe!

Cookies and candies, we have tons leftover!

We have chocolate chip, peanut butter blossoms, snickerdoodles just in cookies.
We have peppermint bark, Ghirardelli chocolates (2 bags), Iddy Buddy Santas (chocolates), M&M's peanut and plain, cotton candy, candy canes, and a bunch I don't remember. I think an elf would be very happy here. cheesy

This elf would be in heaven!!! I have nothing to tempt me here. I love food and I know I can have everything in moderation but it's not what I eat it's how much I eat and I cannot stop at one!!

I agree with the feeling you get from those thoughtful spontaneous gifts. We are pretty strapped for cash so it's flowers from the side of the road or Cadbury chocolate!!
You sound do busy... and it's so lovely Noah needs you... it ends too soon... or I might just be too lazy. What's a Jon boat?

A Jon boat is a simple two or three bench seat boat with an area to attach an outboard motor. They're really basic so very easy to customize. Generally between 8 and 24 feet in length, most commonly flat bottomed, but many are v-hulled as well. It was always my understanding that jon bottoms were flat bottomed and the v-hull ones were called something else, but I have since been told otherwise by fishing fanatics. LOL

Got 7 inches of snow instead of the 3 they were saying last night. So getting mom out here to the hospital for her heart monitor was fun. The side of the road heading back towards town didn't even have tracks. So going home should be interesting.

Well according to the doctor, I should be taking it easy for another 2 weeks. I've never been one to really pay attention to the directions though.

You really should or it will be longer than 2 weeks!!! This is your conscience speaking what you know to be true hooooooohooooo....

I thankyou wholeheartedly for this. Although I do like the feeling better aspect of exercise (or just moving in my case) it sounds selfish doing it for myself; maybe if I told myself the benefits help me participate in my kids lives more and help with lashing the kayaks to the roof of the 4WD I will have more drive during my walking routine which is becoming a chore.

Yeah definitely! If people start out doing it for someone else, they're more likely to stay committed to it long enough for the brain to make the transition to it being the new normal, or habit. The level of output also releases the endorphins which cause you to find joy in the doing and keep you going.

Kid you not... Bud enjoys working out like I like baking cookies or decorating the tree. LOL

We call them tinnies. Not sure what a wooden one is called. I sold my dad's old heavy guage fishing boat and outboard motor at the end of last year so I could put money into kayaks. Better upper body exercise.

My first post to this years Countdown tread! :-D
And you are already on page 61???? How is that possible?

School started here today.
And that's means that The Christmas vacation is over.

We did take down all the Christmas stuff today!
The Christmas tree was the last thing we took down....

Now, it feels good! Im so ready for a new year!
Full of motivation and inspiration!
