We have a theme park in Orlando called Universal Studios. A few years after it was open, they started having Halloween Horror nights. I went to the very first one and never went again. My idea of Halloween is It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and Boris Carloff, Vincent Price type stuff. LOL I do not like gore or psychotically disturbing things.

I went with two friends. I agreed to do the Jaws ride where they take you through "Amittyville Harbor," on a boat. The animetronic shark does attack the boat. I KNEW it was animated. Fake through and through and I still was horrified. ROFL

I like the fun part of Halloween, I hate the gore too.

Haha...love the story...and your idea for date night. If it works, give me the info about how I can install one of these fireplaces! :)
Me, too! Me, too!
:???:

A companion dog sounds like a great idea!

You can count on that! The radio is warning people not to stay out more than 20 or 30 minutes, even if you're bundled up, because of possible frostbite. We're just staying put inside for the time being---Mr. is busy coordinating work from his office via email and phone, and I'm fighting off a headache. We don't need to be anywhere, so we'll deal with the shoveling later.

I went out in layers, long johns, jeans, snow pants, long sleeve wicking t-shirt, heavy sweatshirt, heavy jacket, full ski mask and thick gloves, and two pairs of socks. I could still feel the cold through all my layers. It was absolutely brutal out there.

Keep warm, the worst is coming tonight.

oi....somewhere in Nordrhein-Westfalen - the biggest State in Germany.....a World War II Bomb exploded and killed the man who operated the power shovel that was digging on a building lot....of course noone knew there was one of those bombs that never exploded.....it´s a big tragedy........

a few weeks after Kandice was born one of those bombs was found on the playground of her current school.......so the people surrounding it were evacuated and the bomb was deactivated.....unfortunately the bomb up there did not know of it when the shovel hit it....:(

Now that was really cool yesterday and today! I was able to get out of here and get home in the nick of time, before the roads became bad.

The weather forecasters really was off track on this storm for my area. They originally said that the event was going to start as rain, and then slowly change over to snow around 6pm and then we will get 1-3" of snow. Oh no, we got all snow and it started before 3pm. We ended up getting between 6-8" of snow at my house and with the winds this morning around 40 mph, I had drifts at the house 18-20" deep.

Last night, however, for some dumb reason, my son's girlfriend decided she was going to drive from Baltimore to Westminster (in the snow) to visit. Needless to say, she got stuck, her phone battery died, and she ended up walking a mile to get to our house in the storm. She shows up, cold, wet shivering and we all had no idea she was coming. I asked her what was going thru her mind to do something that dumb, and she goes; "I thought it would be fun!". Hmmmm, I believe now she has a change of heart about that now....

I am glad to hear your son's girlfriend was safe.

I'm glad you and Mr. are safe and warm at home! Be careful when shoveling!!

Shoveling wasn't too bad, because our plow guy came by during the night, so we only had a couple inches to deal with. After being housebound yesterday, the exercise actually felt kinda good to me! But after I came in I found a job from work that had been sitting in my email for 45 minutes, so I had to jump on that right away … then got showered, and now JUST getting lunch!

MerryCarey, I hope that headache goes away! Stay warm!

Thank you, it's gone thanks to some Aleve and a couple mugs of tea.

That would be great for him to have a buddy like that.

The kids in town here are still dealing with the after affects of the June 2011 tornado that hit here. My wife has to calm a lot of them down if there is a thunderstorm or strange noises, the traumatic experience really hits kids hard.

I really feel for everyone affected in all types of tragedies, knowing that it affects people differently. I know it must be hard for you and Ryan as the anniversaries will be coming up in these coming months. I can't even imagine what, especially for the kids.

Okay, decided while I was at it, that everything should come down and to just get the blues out of the way all at once. So the tree just went back in it's box. Now I just have a few things to pack up in the bathroom and it will all be down.

Ahhh, the cold turkey method, I learned the hard way on that one. I did that two years ago and after I finished I tore the ligament in my foot. Never again will take all my Christmas stuff down in one day. cheesy

Such a sad tragedy, Prayers for his family.

The scariest I'll get is the Disney version of the Legend Of Sleepy Hollow, with Bing Crosby doing the narrating. cheesy

I bought that on DVD a few years ago- one of my favorites!

He is a love - so glad my brother found him in the woods when he was a puppy!
