Christmas Countdown - 2014

Hi everyone!

Been really busy today taking down the tree and decorations and getting things ready to go back to work tomorrow. Ugh!

You've just described my day so far!

Thinking about all of you dealing with the heavy snow, black ice, and dangerously cold temps. Keep safe and warm!

We're going to be getting some of that rollercoaster weather some of you have mentioned: up to nearly 50F tomorrow with rain and melting, then later in the day the temps take a nosedive. Makes me nervous about driving home tomorrow, because that rainfall and snowmelt could freeze on the roadways pretty quickly. There's a freezing rain advisory for today, too, from 3 p.m. until midnight.

I took the last of the decorations and the tree down and packed them away today. I still have five seasonal mugs on the kitchen shelf, though. And I was able to take down the lights on our hedge, but the candy canes and the electrical spike are going to have to stay there until some of the snow melts away and the ground thaws a little.

Gotta go get the laundry into the dryer, and think about getting some lunch. I hope you can relax and enjoy yourselves some this Sunday!

Good morning everyone. Cold and windy here in Texas! Planning on working on remodeling My wife's and my bathroom today. We can never seem to leave anything as is for long. While we were at home depot picking up supplies I noticed they had their outdoor mini Christmas lights on sale for $2.00 per box! Before the season they are $16.00 so we bought 23 boxes LOL! All set for next season!

Hi Slim, You're going to be busy with remodelling. What a bargain with the lights! How do you plug them all in or do you rewire them in one long string?

I'm hanging back until tomorrow to de-Christmas our house...guys are watching football in the living room and I don't want to keep walking in front of them.
Arctic blast moving in so I don't mind the glow of the lights one last dark winter afternoon!

Good Morning MMC!!

Noah is going fishing in a bit and I will get to finish up his Epiphany gift. *sigh* Everything comes down around here the day after that.

Still playing catch up with posts since Friday. LOL We had our last Christmas get together last night, but didn't seem much like it because we brought our gifts in to put them... on the kitchen table. They'd already dismantled everything. :-(

Last night I was watching A Very Merry Mixup from the Hallmark Channel in front of our tree and it was a really beautiful tree this year - made me sad thinking of taking it down.

Having a serious case of the PCBs today.

I missed that one this year, we really didn't have a good year watching Christmas movies, just wasn't enough time it seemed like.

cleared off the van and moved it as the plows are attempting to clear the parking lot. Would be nice if the other tenants would move their vehicles.
There is about 2 inches of snow on my van..should say was, it cleaned it off.

When I take mom to the airport later, there is snow for about half the trip and where the airport is it is all clear!!

Have a safe trip to the airport and back.

The snow is just starting here. Ir's coming down pretty heavy right now and they say it's only going to get worse as the afternoon goes on.

I'm at the office for a few hours, had some time to make up from the snow event earlier this week. Almost didn't make it in though, due to an unexpected surprise...I walked outside the house, (thought it was raining), but it was actually freezing rain. My first step out of the house and onto the front porch was like a scene from out of swan lake...

I slid down the porch, twirled around but never fell! It was funny looking but it really got my heart a racing... When I stopped, I just stood there like a deer in the headlights~ Didn't expect that!

I drove into work and the car slid a couple of times, but the closer I got to Baltimore, the warmer the temperature became and the roads safer. It's about a 6 degree (typical) difference in the temperature from where I live and Baltimore MD, which is about 50 miles away.

I'm going to be here for a little while and by the time I leave, the temps are supposed to be in the mid 40's. I heard on the radio while driving into work, that by Tuesday here, the temps are only supposed to be around 15-20 degrees F, as a high....Oh that's chilly~ :cold:

Sounds so dangerous even walking!!! Be careful esp when there's others around 'cause they might slide right into you

Good Morning MMC!!!!! Well it's not to bad out there yet. Still hovering around 30 degree's and the snow is just starting. That's not going to last long though. They snow is going to come down at about an inch an hour this morning and then 2 to 3 inches an hour this afternoon. The temperatures will also crash as the day goes along. The high for tomorrow is now predicted to be -11. BRRRRR!!!! I'm going to kinda play the shoveling thing by ear today. If the wind is as bad as they are saying it will be, it's going to be a losing battle. So I'll probably just try to keep a path between my door and mom's car and not worry about the rest of the sidewalk and everyone else's cars. No One else works so, they don't need to get out. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

How much snow are you to supposed to get?
