Jack Frost is on the war path today in Stratford, Perth and Huron Counties.
All Perth County roads and highways have been closed by the OPP and all schools in both local boards are closed for the day.
All city and all country schools are closed and all school buses cancelled.

Merry Morning! How is everyone? I hope you all had a restful night .

I was watching the news last night and the reporter threw a cup of hot water in the air to illustrate how cold it is. Yikes!!!! I hope you all are doing ok.

Not to much on for today. I need to take down some of the last decorations but I haven't got round to it yet and don't feel like it today.

We are pretty much back into our routine now and I am excited about the year ahead. I just remind myself of all the good things to come to keep those PCBs away like my mum's visit , summer trips and it's the World Cup this year too!!

Good Morning, First Tuesday Christmas Appreciators!
Our final "first day" of the new year.

And wow, has it out started cold!
We show 10.5 degrees on our digital back door thermometer, the coldest reading I have seen for ANY day in years.
And we are supposed to get no warmer than the mid 20's all day wiith the teens again tonight.
Fortunately, there was no precip last night and none predicted for today.
(I think the dog will have to walk himself this morning!)

Well, with that cold bit of news, we need something to warm us up.
How about this:
Days to the Season: 310
Days to Christmas Day: 352
Tomorrow, Folks -- single digits to Milestone number one, the 300-day Window to Christmas Season 2014.
(Hey! I almost feel toasty again!)

I haven't walked my dogs in days. It's way too cold!

the van reluctantly started, thank you Lord! I warmed it up for about 10 min before shutting it down again.
So cold !

Glad it started Star!!!!! I went out every 4 hours from yesterday morning until this morning and started my mom's car and let it warm for about 15 minutes. The first time it protested but after that, it did okay.

Hello my dear MMC friends!

My indoor Christmas decorations are still up and I am still watching Christmas shows and movies. Not as many as I was but enjoying at least one a day. I have to s-l-o-w-l-y wean myself off that. We cannot go cold turkey, can we?

It's a nice and chilly 22 degrees with wind chills in the teens! I finally feel like we have a winter for the first time in years. Now just bring on the snow! I hope all my friends who are going through the roughest part of the storm are staying safe and warm!

They did the water experiment here yesterday too. They also blew bubbles to watch them freeze right away and fall to the ground without popping.


Glad you got back into your routine and seem to be holding the PCB's at bay!!

Good morning!
I can't believe how much colder it is today than it was yesterday, we have record breaking low temperatures. A couple of more days of this and then we will be back in to the 40's by the end of the week.
I let my youngest drive in to school this morning. Thankfully, the roads do not look too icy. I expected it to be much worse after all of that rain and melting snow yesterday. I told her a million times to go easy. They have to get a feel for driving in this kind of weather.
Not too much going on for me. I need a few things from Target so I guess I will bundle up later and go.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's cold. REALLY COLD!!!!!! We are sitting at -14 right now with a -34 degree wind chill. They are saying that the roads are just a giant sheet of ice but since they lifted the travel ban, everyone has to go to work today. So there are wrecks everywhere. Mom just left here about 30 minutes ago and should be getting to work soon. The street her work is on has a DPW garage at the end of it so hopefully it's a little better than the rest of the streets out there. Thankfully we are going to get above 0 around lunch time so the chemicals and salt they have been putting on the roads should start to work. Not much on my agenda for today. I've only had about 2 hours of sleep so once I hear that mom made it to work, I'll probably just collapse. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!
