In all seriousness, I miss chatting with you all! I hope that you and your families are well! I've been so busy lately searching for jobs and interviewing. I was offered a position recently after going in for a couple of interviews. I did turn it down though because it was way less money than I was hoping for. I know that I am going to have to grow and climb up the ladder in any company, but it was unreasonable. Even though I would love to start working right now, I am not going to jump at the first offer that I get! I am trying to stay optimistic and hope that something will work out soon!



How have you guys been? Did I miss anything big in the past couple of weeks?



I'd try to catch up but that would be almost impossible at this point!

Good afternoon,



I finally sat down for the first time today, most of the Christmas decorations inside the house are down, including the tree. Just some knicky-knacky stuff remains, I think I will finish that up tomorrow. I just want some down time before I pick up the boys. I also cleaned up the house, and started dinner.



Please say a prayer or keep our cat Sidney in your thoughts. He isn't feeling well, I am keeping an eye on him. I think he ate something that didn't agree with him. He is very lethargic, quiet and throwing up . (I know, that is how most cats are.) cheesy He is usually outgoing and always around me, but he wants to be alone. He was his normal happy go lucky self yesterday.



I will be in throughout the day.

BRRRRRRRRRR!!!!



Good freezing afternoon!!!! I was going to try to catch up since Sunday, but it appears work isn't going to let me, so I'm going to jump in here & say hello! Hope you are all safe & warm. My thermometer said -22º this morning! What the heck??? My boss decided to do his part in helping out with the "propane shortage" & it's 60º in the office today!!! Can't I at least have 65º??? Brrrrr! I have my big fuzzy boots on & my toes are still like ice!!! I have cuddle duds, a long sleeve T & a sweat shirt on & gloves. LOL! The guys in the shop are warming their hands in warm water every once in awhile & they all have jackets & flannel shirts on. Geesh! BUT, we'll survive!! :lol:

Evening all, hope your day is going well. I have suddenly gone very lethargic and my throat feels scratchy. I better not be coming down with anything, no time for that. Fingers crossed a good nights sleep will improve how I feel tomorrow.

Same here snowflake...my day was fine, but feeling a little trapped! I kind of laid low and just puttered around home. It was relaxing, but after a while, it gets old. Schools closed tomorrow so no babysitting for me as my son-in-law is a teacher and can take care of the boys. I have a real good kink in my neck so that's probably a good thing! I hope you and family are well along with all my Christmas buddies!

The granola bars are rather yummy ~ they taste like peanut butter and vanilla. I put in a movie I had never seen before, "A Christmas without Snow". It is about choir members putting on Handel's "Messiah". It wasn't bad. Palmer snoozed on my lap for the 90 minutes or so the movie ran. Hugs back to you and Harlowe!

Eau Claire has already closed area schools for tomorrow.
The current temp is at -13, with a wind chill of -30. It's going to get down to -28 overnight (GULP!), and should be at -24 on my way to work. Up to -50 wind chills... UGH. The high is -5 degrees for tomorrow. Hoping for the best!

Something to keep in mind if you don't use a "soft" yarn: there are a lot of stitches in the pattern that are worked around posts, and that will really tire your hands out if you use a yarn with a degree of stiffness. You're probably okay with Bernat, but I wouldn't recommend something as stiff as Red Heart Super Saver. I made my first one with Red Heart, and I'm making this one with Red Heart Soft---and I'm finding it a little easier to handle the fancy stitches. A good lesson that I'll keep in mind for the future when I choose a pattern with Aran-type stitches.

Thank you for the tip, Merry! I've made several "Santa Hats" using FP and BP stitches and regular RH yarn and it is a bit tiring. The thing I have to remember when I start the afghan is to crochet in a different direction so the stitches will be easier to do.

Our weekend was very busy, and our afternoon was hectic, to say the least. Hubby was taking out some nails from the back part of the house to work on the pocket door area. When he got started, all the shelves in the hallway pantry came tumbling down, food and all! The shelves had been FULL of food, and some of the containers broke. Can you guess what broke open and landed up all over the floor? Flour did you say? Yes, indeedy. Did I hear you say Karo syrup and some molasses? Yes, indeedy again!!! What a mess I had to clean up! Hubby would have helped, but he had to take the shelves down the rest of the way and repair the doorway! It was funny in a way because we had LOTS of canned goods that we had forgotten about because the shelves are SO deep. Everything was outdated and some of the cans had "exploded" without our knowledge. Can you say big sloppy mess, boys and girls? Have you ever seen a can of partially opened Vienna sausages that has petrified? Totally unreal! I cannot believe that there were NO bad smells! Have you ever seen canned food that has rusted through and have the bottom lid stuck to the shelf and the whole thing disintegrate just by touching it? We did not even try to salvage anything except the small appliances--I even found another crockpot!!!--and some storage material (Ziplock bags, plastic wrap, etc.). I told Hubby that we cannot have any deep shelves anymore where we cannot see all the items. And all canned food has to be together in the big pantry and not scattered throughout the house! How gross! What a lot of extra work for us!!! Well, I am going to rest for a while and then it's off to bed. TTYT

Oh, my, that does sound very messy! I'm glad no one was hurt!

Good Tuesday morning everyone. We continue to have great weather here with single digit lows tonight and more snow. Looks like snowcream for supper.

A National Park service truck was going too fast around a curve on an icy road and hit us Saturday. Our car is a total loss. He hit us right on the drivers side door. The side airbags deployed. I'm bruised up but the rest of the family is ok. I hate car shopping but we will have to find another one soon.

:!!Good Tuesday morning (Better than a Monday morning; huh?)!!

We have a few Deer mice living in the attic, It's pretty typical for them to come inside during the winter months, well, last night, I decided to set a few mouse traps in the attic. Did great, didn't set anyone of them off on my fingers or anything, well, I set the last one, tried to get up back off the floor from lying on my belly, and I misjudged the distance from the roof and my head and bam; I skewered my head on a nail point; OUCH!!!!!

I shook it off and went downstairs, sat on the couch, Lisa was on the phone and when she walked by she looked at me and shouted "what did you do to your head?", you have to know me when I sheepishly say, "Hit it, why?" "Well your bleeding, bad"....

I couldn't get that thing to stop bleeding for the longest while and this morning, I have this knot on my head and that thing is really sore.... Didn't hurt much last night, but today, oh man, I have a headache. I guess that's really using my head; LOL!

Oh my goodness I haven't had any time to myself. No time to read any posts, I'm just sneaking on quick to say hello. My youngest still has mid year exams and has been in and out for that. My oldest is home sick again and my middle one quit her job at Aldi and is driving me crazy. I need her to find another job asap, before her father finds out. Grrrr!
