Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's snowing!!!!! We are not expecting a lot, just a dusting to an inch. It's definitely cold out and windy out there though. Lots of running to do again today. My sister in Seattle is taking the kids to Disneyland for a week. They leave next wednesday and she just realized that my nephew has no shorts that fit him or thin pants for when it gets colder at night there. She looked at her walmart yesterday and couldn't find any so she has me running all over town to try and find him some and get them shipped to her. Fun. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Good morning,
Work beckons in about a half an hour, guess who doesn't want to go?
I will hopefully get home by 8:30 tonight, go back tomorrow morning, and then go to an AHL hockey game tomorrow night.
My wife won the tickets yesterday, so we get to see the Springfield Falcons play the Adirondack Phantoms. The boys, and myself are very excited about the game. The Falcons are one of the best teams in the AHL this year and it has been 5 years since we have gone to a game.
I must start to get ready for work, I hope you all have a good day.
See you all tonight!
Oooh, it's cold in the office today! I don't know what the contractors are messing with, but I hope it gets back to normal soon.
Still expecting snow overnight into tomorrow morning, but we shouldn't get more than a couple inches here. The wind will be fierce, though. Most everybody is hoping this will be the last snowstorm of this winter. Including me.
Good morning! Happy Rudolph Day! Anyone watching something Christmassy today? Maybe tonight I will get a chance - we'll see. They are calling for snow today, so would be a great day to watch Christmas!
Hope you all had a great weekend. Our soup sampling was a hit. Everything was so good! Saturday I made 6 pie crusts - made fresh strawberry pie with 2 of them & froze the other 4! Now I'm ready for fresh berry/pie season! We grilled out last night - green onion brats & baked taters on the grill. OMG - so good! Can you tell I'm getting spring fever?? Lol! Really bad spring fever!!
And here's Miss Grace - she went for a visit to my sisters yesterday afternoon.

(I just noticed it looks like she's been drinking Bud Light! LOLOL! She loves that cup! Has been playing with it since St. Paddy's Day! Notice all her other toys in the background that get drug out every single night as well! Dogs! : -)
Have a fantastic Rudolph Day everyone!
:Rudolph:
3 days in a row to make it on here and actually read and respond to a few post!
I am sitting here drinking coffee out of my Santa mug. I have yet to put my Christmas mugs away but it's all good, it's Rudolph Day!
I hope you all have a Merry Day!
Good morning!
I'm having my coffee, watching the latest weather report. It looks like this storm is going to be minor for my area, they are still only predicting about 3 inches of snow. It's cold out there, we have temperatures in the mid teens this morning which is a new record low for this time of the year. We should be up to the 50's by next weekend though, so I'm looking forward to that.
I have a list of things I need from the supermarket, I'm going to try and get there early and beat the crowd. I mentioned a while ago that one of our smaller local supermarkets closed down and now I have to go to a Super Stop & Shop. I really miss the store that closed and I especially miss the employees, they were all so kind. Stop & Shop is always very crowded, I can't stand it.
Anyway, not too much else going. I'll just be working on some chores around the house.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
Adorable! Are you going to try them? Melt that snow!
Good Morning, Everyone.
Tomorrow.
Banner Day.
Milestone Day.
But you must be present to ''win".
Days to the Season: 233
Days to Christmas Day: 275
And of course, by now you must be aware that the above-mentioned Milestone is none other than the one-quarter mark to Christmas Day 2014!
The weather has take a turn backwards and we are at 38 degrees right now with sub-freezing temps and possible frozen precipitation just ahead.
Winter's last gasp?
I hope so, as I'm quite ready for Spring!
Have a Terrific Tuesday, Folks!
Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!
My mom just called from her place in the NC Smoky Mountains (Pretty close to Mgramsey) and said they got 4" of snow last night. I'm so jealous I won't get to see any snow this year. I know some of you are tired of it by now, but I'd love to see just a little!
I have another meeting with the county commissioners tonight. I'll be glad when this Fire Dept. issue is finished. I had people stopping me in the restaurant yesterday asking about it. I even had folks stopping me Saturday while I was cutting grass. Calgon! Take me awayyyyyy!
Dinner with clients tomorrow night, though. Fancy supper!
I hope y'all have a great day!
Good afternoon everyone! Happy Rudolph day too! :# It's a perfect excuse to watch a Holiday movie and listen some Christmas music which is exactly what I am doing right now. ^^
Thanks to all for your kind words of support. They truly mean a world to me. <3
I've just had my viva (oral assessment discussing my essay with my tutor). I haven't received my grade yet but it seems to be the highest one I have received this semester. It surprised me actually because I find the subject to be the most complicated of all I'm doing. Strange, isn't it?
I hope everyone is having a nice day and will be able to enjoy something-Christmas too. :]
Sorry to hear your favorite store has closed down! The place I have worked for the past 11 years is a family ran business. Our customers love coming in. We really get to know them and I enjoy the customers as much as they enjoy us. There are just not as many small businesses these days and I know what you mean by going into a "Super" mart type stores. Just not as personal and it seems that some of the employees don't seem to thrilled to have to wait on you. Not ALL OF THEM but you have some that won't greet you or talk to you, just check out your merchandise with a frown and get you out of there. Our store we greet with a smile and small conversation. Of course we have been around for over 80 years and it's a tradition of personal service we offer! I love my job!

I'm looking forward to warmer weather too HMG! Yesterday morning was 13º, we had 20º this morning, but tomorrow morning is back down to 14º! Enough already! I totally understand what you mean about the super stop & shop places. They make me crazy. We have a couple small IGA's I like to go too. I pay a little more, but it's much more enjoyable! I hope your trip is uneventful! Have a good day. Hope Maggie is doing well!
that is only because you have not gone through 6 months of it combined with temps that have remained below -20c (-4f) or colder for most of that time.I am probably about the only one on here that wants lots of snow!!!![]()
When I was younger and worked until after midnight, Super Stop & Shop was my best friend. I would go there often and pick up my dinner, which usually consisted of a frozen pizza and bag of salad. Now we rarely go there because it is too far away, and the most expensive grocery store around. cheesy I miss those late nights of frozen pizza and salad sometimes.
We got a few inches of snow also. The roads are mostly clear but the mountains are beautiful. I have really enjoyed this winter but would always like a little more snow.
Thanks! She goes to the vet tonight. Hoping her heart valve is closing all the way now! Fingers crossed!!!
Hope you are having a great day Snowflake!

Harley has a rough life!
He has his own room with his own tv. I'm not making it up...he likes to lay on the bed in the room when my aunt and uncle are gone (that's if they go somewhere he can't go...but he usually rides with them). They leave the tv on so he can watch Animal Planet.
Poor guy has a very hard life!
Thanks CAH! The place where you work sounds wonderful. That's how it was with this smaller supermarket that closed. I had been going there since I moved to this town, over 20 years ago. Everyone was so nice. I was especially close with the cashiers. They watched my kids grow up. I guess the bigger stores that have been popping up took too much business away from them. It was sad to see them go!

lowest we went this winter was -42c
Gosh, it's been over a week since I was here. Our new laptops and programs were delivered at work, and I have been a busy little bee. Hopefully now is all settled, and life can return to normal. Meanwhile, hello from new-computer land!

That's a shame about your supermarket. Fingers crossed you find somewhere else you feel more comfortable. I hope you get everything done today and get some down time later!

I know what you mean about watching kids grow up. I am watching children grow up where I work. We have one that was a little guy when I first started working there and now he works for us! It's really a cool thing to witness. You really become attached to the customers and make great friends. I love working in that type of environment. I know the customers love it here too. Another thing I love is when we have senior citizens come in and tell me stories of shopping at our store since they were children and shopping there for over 50 years! I love it! Our store recently became a landmark and got a landmark sign on placed outside our store! We work very hard but I have a lot of laughs and smiles on my face when I am at work. The employees, boss, owner and customers really make my day!

I texted my brother in Cape Cod last night - told him to get ready 8-12" coming his way! He said he hopes not - he put his snowblower away already. Lol! I hope none of you get as much as predicted! And that wind sounds so wicked! Stay safe & warm Merry!
