Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good Morning, MMC!!!! It's a windy morning here in central Indy but we should get up to near 70 today. Then tomorrow the rain starts and doesn't stop until the weekend. Mom's blood test went about how I expected it to go. She went from 1.3 to 1.4. So the doctor decided to up her to 10 milligrams of the blood thinner from the 7 milligrams on some days and 8 milligrams on other days. So hopefully that kind of kicks things in to a higher gear and gets her up between the 2 and 3 that they want her. Now I'm off to do some more cleaning and maybe some baking. The first thing that I am going to do though is pack up all of my Santa's and take them to goodwill. I've decided that they are just to creepy and I don't want them staring at me anymore. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is Gracie this past Sunday "playing" with our friends dog "Bud" ~ Bud was not a fan of Gracie either - he's 10 years old. She just has too much energy for them older dogs! : -)


Here she is yesterday when she crawled back in her cage when I was home for lunch. She likes it in there! And she really does have eyes! :smile:

Good afternoon everyone!

My internet connection has been miserable the last three days. The house is being renovated and so the internet has been disconnecting very frequently. Fortunately, the mess is going to an end and internet connection is much better now. I am glad to be back.

The only good thing about not having an internet was that I did quite a generous amount of work on my Christmas-themed story. ^^

There are too many posts for me to catch up so I just hope that everyone has been doing great these days.

Good morning!
I can't believe it's April 1st already, the months are just flying by!
It's going to be sunny here today but the temperatures will not get out of the 40's.
I need to run to the supermarket this morning for a few things. I also need to stop at the pet store. Just a typical day of errands and chores.
Today is also the day that I will attempt to exercise again. I really hate to exercise and I never stick with it. It would be nice to lose a few pounds but I really need to do it for the health of it. Lately it seems like I'm tired after walking up a flight of stairs and that is not good. I have an elliptical, a treadmill and a stair climber in my house. I have no excuses. I just need to force myself to do it!

I understand what you mean about "no excuses" ~ it's so much easier when you can go outside to exercise! My treadmill & exercise bike haven't seen much action, but last night I walked 5 miles with neighbor ladies & it was AWESOME! Good luck! Enjoy your day!

Carl wanted to spread the rumor that the Shispering Pines was going to close but he was talked out of it.
(I think we are lucky that the weekly 'Pines open house does not fall on April Fools day. No telling WHAT that camel might do. Of course, we'll find out next year, I suppose!)

But that aside, on with our count:
Days to the Season: 226
Days to Christmas Day: 268

Now barely over 3 1/2 weeks until our next Milestone, the 1/3 Christmas Day marker.
Add a day, and we will be at the grand opening of the 200-day Season Window.
Afterwards, we enter 100's territory and the fast track to Christmas Season 2014.
(Wow! This is all so sudden. Things are moving too fast!)


Well, at last.
At long last.
A BEAUTIFUL day with highs in the low 70's, no rain, plenty of sun and calm winds.
(What took you so long, Mother Nature?)
Right now, we have started out the 2nd day of the work week at a still chilly 42 degrees here in central NC.

Good morning, everyone!

A quick hello before I begin my drive to teach. It's a beautiful morning in Canada's Capital. Temperatures are currently below freezing, but the sun is shining and blue skies are still prevalent. If the snow is not yet melting, it certainly will in a couple hours. Highs today are suppose to be around 7c or mid 40s! Very exciting!!

As if getting my keys for the new apartment tonight wasn't exciting enough, I had a dream last night. It was a Christmas dream. It was November 22 and Crown was counting us through the magical dates of Christmas. I was traveling through stores, enjoying Christmas music and taking in all the excitement. Oh, what a dream. Unfortunately, I woke up to April 1s. Yes, even my mind played an April Fools trick on me. Oh well. At least we have a wonderful summer ahead of us!

Hi everyone.....second day of being sick for Kandice......we are watching the Lord of the Rings..........Boromir has just been killed by the Uruk-Hai...bad Uruks.......lol....love Lord of the Rings

Hope she is feeling better really soon!

No more "exercising" then! You just get moving and do something you enjoy and suddenly you are getting a workout! Go biking, adventuring through trails, kayaking, play with the dogs outdoors and more. I had belonged to a gym for over 5 years at one time and at that time it was FUN! I loved every minute of it. They could tell and tried to hire me as a water aerobic instructor. I tried to join a gym over a year ago and suddenly it was BORING! If your bored, you don't want to work out. My husband and I bought bikes and it's a blast and we get a workout. I joined the Arboretum to take the kids out there and with 66 acres and lots of hills I am getting one heck of a workout! My husband and I love to rent kayaks at the lake and that gets your blood going rowing that boat around! We keep trying to come up with new ideas to get our workout in. For me, I am not trying to lose weight but just stay healthy and energized. Think about it and see what you come up with!

I have a treadmill too and use it but it get boring! I try to watch a movie while on it so helps... some.

Good morning MMC! Happy April Fools! So far it's a beautiful day in Ohio - sun is shining, but wind is picking up. Supposed to hit 62º but have 20-30 mph wind! Ah well, I'll take it! Going for a walk again with the neighbors tonight - it will be a good workout! :smile: Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous! Not looking forward to 3 days of rain starting tomorrow & then much colder on Saturday. Guess we better enjoy this while we have it! Planning to grill out for supper tonight! Other than that, I don't have many plans other than working...which, by the way...is it quitting time yet??

They aren't vicious (as far as I know), but there seems to be a lot of skunks in our area. Just when it gets warm enough to start opening the windows---pyewww! I haven't "met" one in person (yet), but you can tell when they're active.

And we often have bunnies in our yard. But they're not vicious either.

Occasionally you see a snapping turtle. They ARE vicious. I understand they can snap your finger off if you're not careful.

Snapping turtles!! Yikes!

There was a big one in the yard across the street last spring/summer (I forget just when). The neighbor there told me there's a swampy area nearby, and the turtles sometimes crawl into the neighborhood looking for places to dig holes to lay their eggs. He's the one who warned me not to let a turtle get ahold of your fingers. Every once in a while you see one of the babies---I guess they're trying to find their way to the swampy spot. Sometimes they're in the street, but I'm afraid to handle even the little ones to move them to safety. There isn't a lot of traffic there, so they're not in much danger.

Awe! She better get well real soon! Poor girl gets sick too easy!!! I will be praying for her and you too!

She will.....at least now she usually only gets regular colds...instead of bronchitis....it started when she was three weeks old......she was admitted to hospital because of a beginning pneumonia and RSV http://www.webmd.com/parenting/baby/rsv-in-babies......
she was in hospital for a week, she got extra oxygen through the nose, cos the oxygen level was too low and had to inhale...plus strong antibiotica.....the next few months she always had colds very quick....and at least three bronchitis....then when she was 10 or 11 months....she had the RSV again....but not as severe...but again we had to go to the hospital.........ever since then she was very easy to catch Bronchitis.....three or four times the year.....at the age of in 2010 her doctor advised us to apply for a Rehabilation for her.....and we did....it was granted and we were sent to the German Northern Sea Island called Amrum........many patients are sent up there because of the clean and salty air...there the doctors said she has Asthma Bronchiale....she never had any attacks or stuff like that....just every cold turned into this bronchitis...........and here comes the thing.....after being there in 2010....she only had like 2 or 3 bronchitis....if at all.........She still get sick very quick.....but the colds usually don´t turn into bronchitis no more......So I am very, very, very happy about that....
She has been coughing a lot during the night...but during the day it is okay....if she is coughing like that again tonight..we will go and see a doctor

I am sorry she has had such a difficult time with the bronchitis. I hope that it continues to stay away. It must have been awful going through all of that when she was a baby.

Okay guys! When you all prayed for energy to get me through my day at work yesterday you must have been real serious and prayed all day! Ha ha! I had so much energy yesterday, slept only 5 hours last night and have been up since 3:30 am and still bouncing off the walls with energy! Yay! I have only had 1 cup of coffee this morning and only 1/2 cup around noon so it can't be caffeine keeping me energized!

I sure hope I can keep up an energized week!

Wow, good for you! Hope it keeps up to! Maybe I should have you guys, do that for me too! Lol
