Good afternoon!
Well this turned out to be a hectic day for me. Not a bad day, just super busy. I've been on the run all day. I'm at the hair salon right now with my daughter, she's having her hair cut. I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I thought I would run through the posts quick while I was sitting here. I'll be heading back home after this to catch up with my chores and start dinner. I'll pop back in later!

Christmasstar - I hope your moms appointment went well and that you are feeling better.
CAH - can't believe it's going to be in the 90's already. That's too hot, I hope you stay cool!
Brad - The 100th anniversary celebration sounds like fun! I hope everything goes smoothly!

My daughters doctor appointment went well. She had fluid in her ears but it has cleared up. And he still thinks we should hold off on taking her tonsils out. So we really don't have to follow up with him again. For now!
Thankfully my youngest found prom shoes today, she also picked up a little purse to match.

We are getting rain! The western half of the state, where I posted the pics from Saturday, needs this. Our farmers and ranchers are desperate, so this is a blessing.

I finished mowing the yard just in time. Highs in the high 70s to mid-80s all week.

Thanks!!! I just spent about an hour and a half on the porch talking to the neighbors and getting rained on!! It was a great way to unwind.

"The Lost Boys" isn't all that scary and it has a good soundtrack, but there is a scene in it you would find quite disturbing.
That does sound like a lovely way to unwind, rain and all! cheesy

I did more organizing ~ it was fun, though!

I am tired, not feeling good and my feet hurt. Did I say I am tired? I would go to bed but dancing with the stars is on. .
I was around to many Easter lilies on the weekend, I am allergic to them. I tired real hard to avoid them, but they were everywhere!!!

Ok, enough feeling sorry for myself, back to the show!

It was a crazy day! LOL!! Just got caught up at work, and now I'm home relaxing a bit before bed.

My Mom just called me and unfortunately, she lost her balance last night and injured her left knee now. She is in even more pain, and went to urgent care- Torn ligaments
I feel so bad for her. She can't catch a break lately! Two steps forward, two steps back. I appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers, and messages. Can you please continue to pray for her?

Work is going really well, and I'm still loving it! The doctor I work for is showing me more things each week, and being a CA for him is so much more in depth than being one in Vegas. Very interesting & challenging!

Well, better go spend time with my little peanut, she wants some attention =]

Yeah, I know. My devious mind would realize that if I ACCIDENTALLY made a mess out of the yard, my dad wouldn't want me to cut the grass anymore.

Sounds like a great day too! Ella comes out with me a good bit, as she did today. She was acting already today like it was too hot - I told her, it's only going to get hotter!

Poor Ella! Shaggy suffers when the temperature rises over 60. He is loving this cooler weather we are having today.

Hey everyone. I had a really enjoyable evening with my family. My parents took us out for dinner for my birthday, then we went to Sweet Frog for dessert. The kids love it there, which I'm not going to lie, I like it too!

Tomorrow is the big 28...can't wait. I'm going to spring clean.

I woke up this morning feeling a little glum. My eldest is back at school today and hubby is back at work. The weather has also turned so it is dismal and raining. But I am already feeling better in spirits. I am so glad I have you all here for company

I have a ton of work to get through so it looks like a day in front of the PC. Fingers crossed my youngest will let me!!!

Ok well I will probably pop in again later. I am sorry if I missed any important news, I couldn't read/reply to all the posts.

mornings come to early sometimes, it is still dark out...and its raining. I have to pick up mom at my brothers this morning, she has a routine appointment at Dr. at 8:30am. So I have to leave here at 7:30.

So for now I am enjoying a cup of lemon honey tea, watching cake boss and trying to feel better.

Ahhh!!! Summer is coming way too early here. It will be almost 90 degrees this Saturday! The low in the morning will be in the 70's. Triple digits will be here soon. I need a summer home up north!

Oh, my that is hot ~ stay cool! The temps here have taken a dive again ~ below freezing for the next few nights and highs during the days are going to be in the 50s.

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I had to do some work on my after-hours business yesterday, but I really needed to be on the lawn mower. My yard looks terrible! Nancy says I should put Jacob on the mower, but I have a specific way I like the lawn cut (45° to the street), and I can't trust him to do it correctly. LOL

I think I mentioned that this year is the 100th anniversary of our county, and each city in the county has a designated week of celebrations at different times during the year. I wanted Christmas, but the centennial committee didn't plan for a Christmas celebration.

Anyway, our week is the first week in June, and we're hosting passenger train rides from our historic depot, along with other displays, vendors, etc. It should be lot of fun!

We were remodeling city hall in anticipation of all the people, and our contractor just quit to take a full-time just in Atlanta. Now I have to meet with a new contractor at lunch, so no rest for the weary.

Last night was a productive night. I got things cleaned up that didn't get done after the party Sunday night. I met Jim at the garden & we planted 3 types of lettuce, radish, sugar peas, 3 types of carrots, kohlrabi, candy onions, german butterball potatoes & red beets! So glad to be that far along with the garden - FINALLY! We got home around 9:00 & I took off on a 3 mile walk with my neighbor. It was so nice outside, I just didn't want to go in! So I had supper at 10:00! LOL! Today is not going to be as nice with a high of 58º & crazy wind! Sun was out earlier but it's pretty dreary looking now!

I'll say you had a productive day ~ that is a huge garden. I'd love to have a garden that big, but I'll be lucky if my little ones do good this year as it seems there is a mole problem. My goodness, you always seem to do a lot ~ I really wish I had your energy! I hope you are having a good day!

You're missing a treat, then! I prefer the okra to be cut in little nuggets and deep-fried, but my current diet doesn't allow for fried stuff. I also like it boiled, but it's usually too slimy for other folks with weaker constitutions. Pickled is super!

I'd try out fried or pickled okra, but no way would I try boiled. My dad liked it boiled and the one and only time I cooked it for him, someone else had to do the dishes. cheesy

Okay, Okay. I will make you a peanut butter cheesecake instead of bringing you a piece of cake.

Yummy!

I love it!!! Everyone else says I make it to rich. I don't know how you can have to much peanut butter though.

Rich is good at times, but I always use the 1/3 less fat cream cheese and I put less sugar in when I make one at home. Zehnder's makes a great peanut butter cheesecake ~ very rich w/chocolate. Yummy! I bet yours is better!!!

I got home and look what came in the mail! I am just waiting for one more Yule Log DVD - Elvis Christmas!
