Hello all. Not much to report. Thankfully the severe weather was a bust! It rained hard this morning but that's it.

good morning everyone....hope this finds all of You happy and healthy.

my cold has not gotten worse.....not much better either....but I was able to sleep very well...hardly any coughing at night

hopefully that is as bad as it gets and you feel better soon!

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

Elizabeth and I got in the pool yesterday afternoon so I could done some vacuuming. Wow, it took a while before my teeth stopped chattering!

She has Oliver Twist auditions today, so we're going to grab a quick lunch and head out.

Found an Elvis movie on TCM "It happened at the worlds fair"

Still coughing a lot with not much energy, but feel like I am on the mend. Taking tomorrow off so it will be Wednesday before I go back. One good thing about being sick, I lost 7lbs this week.

Nice sunny day here but still chilly. It is so strange not going to church on a Sunday morning. At least I can listen to the sermon on line later.

Another gray, chilly, damp day here … oh, well. That means it's a good day for video!

Mr. calls it my "tea party"---on Sunday morning I like to make some tea, pour it into my genuine bone china mug, and watch an episode of "Downton Abbey." Amazon Instant Video has the first three seasons for free, so I got hooked and had to buy Season 4 to keep watching. When I finish those, I'll have to wait for Season 5 with everybody else! In the meantime, I can watch the original series of "Upstairs, Downstairs," which is very good.

Sounds like a great way to spend the morning!!!! Enjoy the rest of your day!!!

Good morning!
It is going to be partly sunny with a high of 55 today, we are currently at 41 degrees.
I will be working on daily chores this morning. I also need to finish a menu plan and grocery list for next week. I will probably go to the butcher this morning and do the rest of my food shopping over the weekend.
We picked up my daughters prom dress yesterday and we have a big problem. We were told they would be ordering her a size zero and they ended up getting her a size 4. The dress is huge on her. I'm not sure what we are going to do. I left the store in tears, the owner was beyond rude and abrasive. The dress will have to be reconstructed. The gown is heavily beaded and I'm afraid the alterations will have an impact on the pattern of the beading and the look of the dress. Not to mention the cost, it will be hundreds of dollars in alterations on top of what we paid for the dress. It was also a special order and final sale. I may head back there this afternoon with my husband but I know this women is not going to be accommodating. I feel bad for my daughter. She waited two months for this dress to come in, only to be disappointed. Wish us luck!

So sorry to hear about this, HMG. How did you make out? I hope you guys found out something? I know when I was younger and was ordering my dresses, they always ordered them bigger too, then the alterations would cost more - I think a lot of places truly do this on purpose.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Saturday..... I did, I spent all day hanging out with my grandfather (pop-pop). I drove over to the other county and picked him up this morning and brought him here to see our house for the first time. I wanted to wait until it was good weather until I brought him up here; he's 95.

I wanted him to see the house before construction starts on the back of our home in a week. This is phase 2 out of 3, of a planned renovation that is in order to be done before he can move in with us. Our hopes are to have him living with us by the Fall. Phase 3 is the conversion of our basement to a full size apartment just for him.

I also got the chance today to start bringing my outdoor Christmas decorations here, that I had stored in one of his out buildings. I have one more pick-up truck load to get and then I will have it all here....

So, what's happening with everyone else tonight?

Prom is in the books and it was a success. One of the better proms I remember in years. Going to check the weather and then head to bed. Rain is slated to start around noon and it's supposed to be an interesting day. We will see.

Probably going to look at a few Christmas sites before bed, so y'all be good! Got caught up for the most part today. I hate that I don't get to come everyday like I used to, but I guess that's part of having a little one.

(Scarcely seems possible!)


Fantastic day yesterday, with moderate temps, sunny skies, no rain, little pollen and no wind to speak of.
Mother Nature is spoiling me. I guess she forgave me for my earlier critical remarks. But beware - Ms. Nature can be quite fickle.
(OOPS! Oh, no. I'm doomed. NEVER accuse Mother Nature of being fickle!)
Our temp? Fifty-eight degrees here, currently.

Good Friday morning. ha, I have been having the most difficult time of trying to spend some time here...Work has been out of this world! I mean last year, I had all the time in the world to do whatever I wanted because we were slow, but so far this year: WOW, we got work beating our doors down to get done.

Now, I'm working on a project, where, when I conduct any field visits there, I cannot have any electronic devices on me at all, I have to be escorted everywhere and I cannot have any contact with anyone, sign a non-disclosure statement and once I enter thru their doors, I lose all contact with the outside world. The place has 3 letters and starts with the third letter in the alphabet; if you get my meaning here....

Can you believe that next week is the beginning of May already? Just think about this for a minute, in about more 7 weeks, it will be the longest day of the year and then we will start to loose time and the days will start getting shorter..... sure gives me pause to think, where is the year going???? before you know, we will be watching Christmas in July again on QVC.....Binger, Sugar, Made are you ready:

I'm sooo ready for CIJ! Can't wait for the commentary, spending the time with you guys, and all the gifts to buy! So exciting!

The problem is that the size zero was not written on the receipt. It was verbally said, so it's basically our word against theirs. They are going to tell me they ordered the size 4 according to her measurements. My daughter is swimming in the dress so she clearly needed the zero.
The dress was paid for in full two months ago at the time it was ordered. My husband is going to call our credit card company this morning and see if they can be of any help. I feel like I'm going to throw up! I'll keep you posted.

That's what they always did to me too - then I would be swimming in too. I never agreed with the size they ordered.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a warm day here with a high in the mid 70's. Then the rain moves in this evening and sticks around the rest of the week. Not to much going on here today. Just dealing with 2 wild and crazy girls running around here. I do have to run a couple of errands but I'm hoping their mother will be here to pick them up before then.
