Christmas Countdown - 2014

I hope this finds everyone well and happy!

I must say that coming here today has brightened my spirits enormously ~ thank you for the Christmas spirit and the love!

The sun is out and the forecast looks good for the Eta Aquarid meteor shower tonight. Yay! I will most definitely be watching the skies in the early am.

I have to start my pasta sauce soon ~ beef bacon takes a long time to cook just right, not to mention the tomatoes are still frozen. The sauce is for tomorrow as I won't have time to do a lot of cooking ~ reheating can be good at times!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's a nice morning here, but it's supposed to warm up to the low 90's...yikes! Have I mentioned lately how much I love my air-conditioned office?

I have a few things going on this morning, then the boss is going out of town for the week. That used to be a good thing, but these days it just means I have to keep up with his stuff, too...LOL.

I have a city council meeting tonight, and Jacob & Elizabeth have the spelling bee this Wednesday. Another busy week.

Thanks Sugar, I hope you have a good day today as well! One thing that I am going to do today is to plant about 7 Maple trees. They are offsprings, of a Maple tree that my grandfather planted with his dad back in 1940 at his house. I am going to plant them here at my new home today. I wanted my grandfather to see that in a lot of ways....

I have also planted another 58 trees since we moved here at the end of December on a bottom acre that I have and don't plan to use. I planted Pin Oaks, White Oaks, Birch, Hazelnuts and Dogwoods.... I thought that it would be nice to return the land back to it's original condition to help bring the deer, squirrels, rabbits, etc... back to my property...

That is great!!!!!! I also love to see when people let things go back to nature!!!!

Good morning!
It is going to be partly sunny today with a high of 63 degrees. We're only in the mid 40's right now. I just tried to open up the back door so the cats could look outside but it's still too chilly out there.
My youngest wasn't feeling well when she came home from work yesterday so I let her stay home today and sleep in. I'm hoping she'll feel better after getting some rest. I'm going to make her a big pot of chicken soup.
Not too much else going on for me, typical day of errands and chores.

another day is done. The lovely sunny day turned into a chilly grey one, but at least it did not rain!
Slowly working on ideas and designs for that cake competition, determined to win something this year! At least this time they have given us lots of time to plan.
Supper is almost done so I should go and check on it.

Your sauce sounds delicious! I freeze portions of my sauce after I make it. I just love the nights that all I have to do is reheat the sauce and boil water for pasta!
