Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

Jacob and I went to see a live performance of The School of Rock, the band that Jacob's guitar instructor sponsors. they needed a little work, but they are HS kids, after all. Jacob is planning to audition for the group next month, and I think he's pretty excited about it.

Today is the official last day of school, and although Jacob had to go for a test, Elizabeth was able to stay home since all her testing is over. Summertime is here!

I talked to my brother who also has a pool, they used netting , draped it about 6 feet over the pool on poles and no ducks came anymore. He says it is not esthetically pleasing, but does the job.

Thank you both. We found some beautiful flowers and we asked to write some words on the ribbon. At the end, the composition turned out nicely. The Mass was hosted at the honour of our course mate at the church in the campus by the priest who came all the way from Glasgow. We also had a chat with the headmaster and the priest who stayed at the campus until
7 p.m. for anyone who desired a talk with him to come and do that. I think it was very touching of him to stay and offer a personal emotional talk to anyone who needed that.

Good afternoon MMC! It's a lovely day in Ohio! Go figure - back to work Monday & the weather turns awesome! :lol: Looking forward to quitting time so I can get outside!
Weekend was good. Too fast as always. 4 graduations down, 4 to go! By Sunday night I am going to be sooo burned out of graduation parties - heck, I'm burned out already! Lol! It's nice to be invited but it's not really my 1st choice of things to do on Memorial weekend. HA! We'll get through it! ;-)

it is nice day here for a change too! all the way up to 21c (68f). I had the day off, Victoria day here, store was closed. Fireworks tonight at the park. Some places had them yesterday night.
Have fun with the graduations, I used to drive busloads of grads to those events.

They go back August 15. Shoot, it's pretty warm here. We were swimming last Saturday.

the pools around here do not open till June 1. My brother has not even started getting his ready to open yet. It is nice today and should start getting warmer now.

I'm worried. Mr. went home from the office mid-morning because of something going on with one of his eyes. From his description I'm scared it could be a detached retina. He has an appointment with our eye doctor (a very good one) at 4:30 to have it checked out, and I've been distracted all day while trying to look normal at the office. We're both proofreaders, so our eyes are our livelihood. Prayers, please.

There are storms on the way here. I'm so thankful that the water receded in the basement because it looks like there is a lot of rain on the way. Hopefully the storms lose their staying power once they pass over the lake! Chores are waiting for me and then I will be working on some stuff for the store. If time permits, I will either read or watch some episodes of The Lucy Show. I bought a DVD set at a garage sale a few years ago and finally got around to watching one of the discs on Saturday. Some of the episodes were quite funny!

So excited for Autumn- We haven't even hit summer yet, and I really enjoy all seasons! I just love the change of seasons- In reality, this is a countdown to the 'bers, which is Fall in my mind!! =]

plus you have to be concerned for the ducks, those pool chemicals cannot be very good for them
