I have been taking it easy all day, I did get up to finally make that chocolate covered bacon I talked about forever ago. I do have to say, dark chocolate on bacon is much better than milk chocolate. It tastes so much better, the flavors compliment each other. I can get used to having Saturdays off.

Ohhhhhh, you know what sounds good right about now, one of those soft serve ice creams, in an old fashioned cone....Vanilla~ :thumbsup: with chocolate sprinkles all over it!!!!!

My great grandma is not doing well and they called the family to be with her yesterday. She is 94 and has lived a great life. She has her family by her, her Bible beside her bed like she always has, and her framed hymn sheet music on the wall.
She woke up long enough yesterday to tell us she's "going home." We will miss her but are excited for her, if that makes any sense. She's been talking about Heaven for a while now and I think it's just her time to go.
My dad is happy for her but I know sad as it's his grandma. Plus with his own cancer battle I think he is down, so prayers are appreciated.

I decided another day off for my foot would be best, so I already called out of my shift tomorrow. So that will be 3 days in a row off, my foot needs it and my brain needs it. I need to take it easy I don't want it like last time where I missed 6 weeks of work.

That's' ironic, last night, I stepped on a board and had a nail run up thru the bottom of my work boot and about a quarter-inch up and into the sole of my foot. Oh boy, was that smart. I was hobbling around like someone had just given me a hot foot... I had to go upstairs and take the bloody sock off and bandage it. I had a tetanus shot a couple of years ago, so I should be ok, but I'm telling you, my foot's a hurting this morning...Ahhhh, I'm a big boy, slap a band-aid on it, give me a lollypop and I'm good to go....

Well mom's blood level hadn't really changed since the last time we where there a week and a half ago. So the doctor today left her on the same dose of blood thinner and said he would let her normal doc make the decision as to whether she thought it she be lowered or not since she is right at the highest number they want her to be at.

I've got all of my other running done too. So now I can just kick back and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

My grandfather is 95 and will be 96 (god willing) in September. As a lot of you know, I bought a house at the end of December, and I have been non-stop of renovating it. For my plans are to sell his house and have him move into our home. I have been in demo mode, for the past month and am getting ready to start the next phase of construction by building him an apartment out of my whole basement. I'm going to put in a stair lift and ada bathroom as well.

I really enjoy being around my grandfather, and he his a big important part of my life. In a lot of ways, he's my best friend, besides my grandfather...
His mom and dad lived to be in their 90's, his grandfather, 100 and he still has two siblings that he still see's; ones 93 and the other 91....I hope and pray that I have some of those genes inside of me.....

Your grandfather sounds so wonderful ~ I'm glad you have such a good relationship with him!

Sounds like a plan to me. After Pizza and wings, we can hit the carnival on the other side of town and get some Fried dough, covered in powered sugar...

My niece is holding strong. Not really getting better or worse. Just kind of staying steady.

Heading to bed shortly, just checking in beforehand.

It was a cold night up on the hill watching JP's baseball game, it is the end of May and we were wearing winter jackets and blankets watching the game. It also doesn't help that is the field the tornado went through and destroyed all the forest around it so the cold wind just whips right through. Brrrrrrrrrr!

I am having issues with the foot I ruptured the ligament in a few years ago, it is a little swollen and very sore. I am hoping being out in the cold has something to do with it.

Just have to get through tomorrow for my day off on Friday, I haven't looked forward to a day off this much in a while.
