This afternoon I'm going to paint some more - hopefully FINISH! Tomorrow we have a party at friends at the lake. My hubby is getting my BIL's big cooker & making marinated pork chops & wings for them. YUM! Sunday we will probably be finishing up everything at the house before the flooring & cabinets come next week. Woo Hoo!! My hubby is on vaca all next week - lucky duck!

Morning all!! Well Im in the middle of making homemade cinnamon rolls!! Wanted to attempt making them for ages after hearing how good they are and Ive finally given it a go! cant wait to have one later with a cup of coffee!!

expecting thunder storms today, its really cloudy and drizzly at the mo but its going to rain heavier this afternoon!

Mmmmm - I hope they turn out awesome for you!! Now I want a cinnamon roll! Lol! I think that is the 1st thing I am going to bake in my new kitchen - I will actually have a nice big island to roll them out on! Enjoy!!! Stay safe in the storms! Have a great day!

No big plans here. My husband has more work to do in the kitchen. The stone for the counter tops is supposed to finally be here on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to that. And I'm still trying to chip away at this dorm shopping so that's what I plan on doing all weekend. I'm really hoping to wrap it up soon. I want the last couple of weeks before my daughter leaves to be a relaxing time for us.

TGIF, my Christmas friends!

Today was the first day of school. Ugh. The traffic in Bellville is always awful on the first day of school. Jacob had to decide at the end of last year if he wanted to take advanced placement chemistry this year. He wanted to, so he was given a packet with summer-break homework. He's had all summer. He finished it at 2AM this morning. Talk about procrastinating!

I was copied on a letter from the mayor of Claxton to the county commission chairman, informing the county that the city will not allow them to use city water to fill county fire trucks from hydrants without a metering device to keep track of how much water the county takes. They plan to charge the county for the water used to fight fires. What a bunch of children. I really am getting sick of local politics. And don't even get me started on national politics.

I have our regular Friday lunch with Jim & mom today. The kids have always gone with me during the summer, so I'll miss them.

This isn't my best Friday, but hey, it's Friday!

Wow.
These successive Weekend Eves seem to be coming and going as fast as Carl's fired twinkies!

Days to Christmas Day: 139

Now under a week until the THREE-QUARTER Milestone to the Season.
Gee whiz!


One last dry day was had yesterday and I took advantage of it to get the lawn mowed.
Sadly, it's supposed to be quite rainy for most all of our planned trip.
So it goes.
Right now, we are at 70 degrees here in central NC about ready to head for western SC and our family reunion.


No volunteers yet as guest counter for Saturday and Sunday.
Any takers? Last chance.
(It's bad luck to have a count gap, you know!)

Thanks for asking ... I don't know either just now. I e-mailed her yesterday and she said they were "well prepared." Where they are, they're expecting something like two feet of rain ... it'll probably be very windy up on the side of the mountain, too.

The storm just made landfall a short while ago. I tuned in to a Hilo radio station online, and they're waiting for an update to give them an idea of how long the rain will last. I expect they will lose their electricity and/or phone service for a while, so I won't hear anything more from Gloria until the storm is over.

I took a quick look at the Weather Channel this morning. Jim Cantore is in Hilo, and I recognized the hotel he's staying in as the same one we stay in.

My mother gave me $40 in Kohl's cash because she went back to Pennsylvania with my father and wasn't going to use it. I might as well get something.
My daughter is finally feeling better. She actually had some friends over last night. Her throat still hurts but it's much better than it was!

Glad your daughter is feeling better! Gotta love a free $40 to spend at Kohls. I have no doubt you'll find SOMETHING to spend it on. Lol! I have a 30% off (not sure when it starts) there - need new towels for the bathroom since I painted a new color in there! Have a great day HMG!

My mother gave me $40 in Kohl's cash because she went back to Pennsylvania with my father and wasn't going to use it. I might as well get something.
My daughter is finally feeling better. She actually had some friends over last night. Her throat still hurts but it's much better than it was!

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday!!!

Well, once I'm off work at noon, it's back to paining. Bathroom needs another coat & I ran out of paint for the utility room! :-? Hubby was impressed with my spackling/sanding job - darnit! Now he knows I can do that. What was I thinking??? :lol: At least it doesn't need to be re-done! We'll be heading to the lake later on this evening! Hopefully sooner rather than later. It's a beautiful morning - windows are open! Love it! Ready to go be outside in it!!!

Has anyone ever heard of the 127 garage sales?? Worlds longest yard sale from Michigan to Alabama.

It's going on right now & 127 runs very close to us - hubby takes it to work every day! It's a main traveled road around here. And it's a mess!! Total zoo! All the locals are cursing about the gawkers. Just makes me laugh! Glad I don't have to travel that way! Our back yard neighbors left Wednesday & they had a hotel in KY that night - working their way back - garage saling & they had a few other stops they were making along the way. Too funny!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a beautiful day here with a high in the low 70's and some scattered storms. I have some stuff I want to get done around the house today and then I may run to harbor freight later tonight. Also need to head to target sometime but may wait until tomorrow to do that. Other than that, not much else going on here. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!
