Glad you get to spend so much time with the grandkids. Not a fan of August with kids starting back to school and off to college.

When we lived in Carrollton, we'd go to Joe T Gracia's in Fort Worth for Mexican food. Loved it.

I had to look up that restaurant because I was wondering if that is the one Wayne and I went to when we went to Fort Worth for the Christmas parade last year. It wasn't the same one but it sure has a pretty outdoor seating! We might have to go there sometime!

Glad you are feeling much better! Bonus that you spent quality time with your Mom & grandkids And Mexican, too! Lucky duck!!

I don't know how you do it! You are such a good daughter and grandma to put them first. I am not sure if I could do that. You always seem to have some fun "adventures" where you live!

I honestly don't know how I do it either! I get so dang tired sometimes and struggle to keep up with their energy. My mom, however, in her 70's can outrun the grandchildren. I know I brag way too much about my mom's energy but I am proud of her and I want to be just like her when I grow up. :lol: Most of these "adventures" we go on are her idea. You can't keep her still for one second!

I'm finally caught up to yesterday morning.... :lol: (darn boss won't go away today!) ;-)

I laugh when I read this about wanting your boss to go away. I know I have said it before but I HATE when my boss is not at work. I feel lost! I love having him around - well he is actually one of the owners. He is a good man and a great friend!

Thinking of you and lots of (((hugs))). DH especially is having this issue too. I sleep obviously during the day, so it's not going to be as hard for me, even I am having a hard time with the fact, that babies will be in Kindergarten and Preschool, but he said he is going to be so lonely on his days off now. Hugs all around!

Thanks! I am doing better than I was when the summer first started. At that time I was feeling sad that when the summer was over they were all going back to school and my youngest grandchild will be off to school for the first time. I dwelled on it for a couple of weeks and now feel more prepared. I had to focus on the fun one on one time I plan to have with each grandchild. They love when I do that. We take all 3 of them out together a lot and also schedule one on one time - it makes them feel so special to be alone with grandma and grandpa and they get to pick something to do that is of interest to them! When I take just one grandchild out we make a point to stop at the Dollar Tree on the way home. They get to pick out a toy for themselves and bring their brother and sister home a gift. That way whoever stays behind will be looking forward to a little something when their brother/sister comes home. It doesn't cost a fortune either! lol

The first big event will be for my oldest grandson will be an upcoming air show. My middle grandson was with us at the last air show. That is not that interesting to my granddaughter so we have another day planned for her.

I hope your hubby can adjust quickly to the change. I know how he feels!

Seawaters, I will contact my church about Joshua and add him to the prayer list. I am so sorry you got this kind of news but God is good! I pray there will be a miracle from Him!

He needs time to get ready for treatments and wants to concentrate on making arrangements and dealing with his own emotions. Tiff gets quite emotional, sometimes overly so. Joshua met with his oncologist today. Without chemo, he may have up to six months. With chemo, he may have up to 22 months. If you have a prayer list or prayer chain at your church or in your community, please put Joshua Zink's name (and Melissa's too) on it. I believe in prayer and in an all-powerful God. And I truly need physical, emotional, and mental strength.

Good Morning to all.... It's Friday - Yea!!!!!

Oh boy, I got a lot going on today. First off It's Lisa's Birthday today and were all going out this evening for dinner, because also, Zachary is coming home tonight from his active duty stint...
And we are also getting ready to take Victoria back to school tomorrow, yes, back to college already (man the summer sure did fly by....)!

We finally, just received, the signed contract from the people, who's house we just purchased; so now it's a done deal and we are the only ones that can break the contract now. So now we head into all the inspections of the home; the overall home inspection, pest, septic, well, radon, etc.... hoping that all goes well.

So, Wow, a lot going on with us right now! But, I have a smile on my face and happiness in my heart~

I am happy for you all on your new house. Now those offers from other houses that fell through don't really matter anymore - you ended up getting a house after all!!! It all worked out! Congratulations!

I believe about 10 years ago. We were blessed that Ethan got a full academic scholarship. It is a private school and we couldn't have afforded it otherwise.

Good morning MMC ~
Still no Internet in my house, maybe it will be fixed today. I'm heading out soon to run a few errands. I need to get back here because we have a repairman coming to the house later to look at our dishwasher, my husband realized its been leaking. This is a brand new dishwasher and the worst part is the wood floor has some damage from the leak. We can't catch a break lately. My hubby turned the radiant heat on, he's hoping it will help to dry it out. I have the heat & the A/C on right now. If this floor needs to be sanded down and refinished I am not going to be a happy camper. I already woke up weepy today because my daughter leaves for college one week from today! Anyway, I've got to run. I'll pop back in when I can. I hope everyone has a nice day!

Enjoy this week with her. I mourned for a month before our son went off to college. I wish I would've just enjoyed that time with him and saved the morning until we moved him in (we certainly were morning then). This first week with him gone and been tough.

GOOD MORNING MMC!!! HAPPY FRIDAY!!

I'm bummed to report that I haven't had a chance to catch up on posts from last night or this morning, but I hope this finds you all well!

It has been a busy morning here at work...and at home! Gracie & I stayed at the lake last night...after she got a bath! She was a muddy mess, so I cleaned her up & out the door we went...and thankfully we did. We got 4 1/2" of rain between yesterday morning & now. Our new crawlspace was flooded & so, so close to coming through our basement window (that they just cut out) & into the finished part of our basement. If we had checked it 20-30 minutes later, we would have had a big ol mess!!! We bailed some water out w/ 5 gallon buckets until our contractors showed up w/ a pump....then they left to get a bigger pump. GEESH! Wew! 1st time I ever had swimming pool at my house! :lol:

I get off work at noon today - heading home to pack up a few things, then off to the lake we go again! I'm going to do some baking out there this afternoon. YAY!!!! Several of us girls took off work Monday & we are staying Sunday night. Lots of snacky type food planned for the weekend. Mmmmm! AND bicycle riding! :- )

Hey Everyone....it has taken me ten(10) minutes to log on because the computers here are like 1996 slow today. sooo just wanted to say I miss you all and can't wait for another month to go by when I can stay here all day and chat!!! A distinct warm turn has occurred here and we broke 90 degrees yesterday.
On the positive side, that's only the 3rd 90+ day we've had all of August --
and that ain't bad!
We are at 73 degrees here right now.
