Christmas Countdown - 2014

Oh I forgot to add that I'm going to another craft fair this weekend. I'm really looking forward to this one, it's one of the biggest craft fairs held around here. Lots & lots of Fall/Thanksgiving & Christmas decor! :-D

LittleCS and I were just talking about going to some craft shows. The Christmas ones are going to start soon here.

What are your weekend plans?

My cousin is coming to visit, so we plan to do some shopping, hiking, and go out to dinner. If the weather allows, we may tour a local vineyard and visit their pumpkin patch too. Should be fun!

Our plans? Wayne and I want to do something fall related, even though the temps will be in the lower 90's. Blah! I still need to go sniff candles at Bath and Body Works before the sale ends!!! :lol: They have new pumpkin scents this year!

We are so excited! The pumpkin patch opens this weekend at the Arboretum. Since we are members of the Arboretum we are allowed to visit before they open to the general public at 9 am. For members we can come as early as 7 am. We hope to get up early to beat the crowd.


Not sure how it's displayed this year but here is a picture from the past.

wow, it is chilly here at only 2c (35f), I had the back door open but had to close it as it got to cold here.

off to work again, but only till 1. After that dropping boxes off at Monica's for her up coming move.

Wayne and I want to just jump on our bikes someday and do that. Where we are located is just impossible to go to places like eating or shopping. We have way too many congested roads between our house and local businesses. We don't feel real comfortable fighting traffic on our bikes. I know some that do but we just don't want to. It will make me too nervous and afraid I will get run over! lol

Well, it's Thursday night. Ahhhhhh, one more work day till the weekend~

As I was eating dinner tonight at the kitchen table, I can see all the way down to the end of my property (where I had planted about 60 trees this past spring). Well, something just didn't look right. So, after dinner, I got on the tractor and drove down there and there was a few of the plastic tubes that are around the young tree I planted, that were uprooted and on the ground. I was scratching my head until I picked up one of the tubes and saw who was the culprit. Yup, just as I thought, It was a buck deer. You can see all of the scrapes and penetrations thru the tube where his antlers went thru it.....

It's that time of the year, Fall is upon us and the bucks are getting themselves prepared for the Rut....Actually, I would have liked to have seen him down there.

Not going to do much of anything tonight, except spend some time here, maybe watch a little TV and call it a night early. Kids and the Lisa are all out right now, so I'd thought I'd jump on-line for a bit to see what you all are up to tonight~

Well I hope he comes back so you can see him again ~ but he doesn't have to be destructive! :lol: Have a good day xmas!

We had a nice bike ride last night to the restaurant - we sat outside to eat - it was pretty dark for our ride home, but most of us have lights on our bikes. It was a really nice night! Everybody made it except my hubby & 1 of my BIL's! Then when I got home, I had a sink full of tomatoes waiting for me! The tomato fairy never showed up! :-o So, I made tomato juice - still needs to be canned, but at least the worst part of the job is over ~ I'm just happy to have a kitchen to can in again! :smile:

Thank you for the prayers and well wishes for Mr Festive. He is still under the weather and off work today. It 's nothing to worry about though , just a virus but it's really knocked him flat.

Not much planned for weekend. Just staying in tomorrow and work on Sunday. But I am happy with a free and easy Saturday.

hi everyone.....Kandice is in school....today they are going to the theater to see something about interacting with other children and people....how to be respectfull and stuff like that....Not much to learn for Kandice then ....but she´s happy to go there.....then they walk back to school (yes....over here in Germany....especially in my city.....You can walk to pretty much everywhere in a short amount of time....lol) the kids have their first project group for the year....it will be every Friday and is intended to help the kids nurture their interests or find new ones......They could choose between computer, animals, arts, music, dance, soccer and other things.......Kandice has chosen soccer, animals and arts......Then they were chosen for one........So today she will be playing soccer...and every Friday until February until the new term of 3rd grade starts....she will then be appointed to another project group! I´m sure she was chosen for soccer, because she is a girl.....Over here in Germany and pretty much all over Europe.....Soccer known as Football....is a men´s sport........Women´s soccer is popular now as well....but only really since the early 2000s......whereas in the States....Soccer is more of a women´s sport ..........so she is there for the minority rate

Hope Kandice had fun!!!!!

I am going to vaccum and mop the floors now.....after making the beds...if the time is enough, I will then go to the gym....if not....I will just work out at home and might run a lap or two at the track around the Hockey pitch where Kandice will practise in the afternoon

Extremely comfortable weather continues to be the norm here for the last few days. I certainly hope it lasts!
Starting off today, we record 65.6 degrees on our handy-dandy back door digital thermometer with the promise of a sunny, rain-free day.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! Well the warmer air is going to return for this weekend. Boo!! I was hoping we weren't going to see anymore 80's. They will be here all weekend though and then again at the end of next week. Today shouldn't be to bad though. Only a high of 75. It's a little bit chilly right now at 55. Not to much going on today. I just need to do some work on the computer. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

Happy Friday, folks!

I have a day off from work and am going to putter around the house working on what I darn well please. Except for one "must do"---I have to update my iPad to iOS 8, and I'm not looking forward to it. I usually hit a snag or two during updates. But I'll make a cup of tea, take a deep breath, and begin.

Also waiting to hear the results of a photo contest at my office. The challenge was a group photo---any group of employees. No other rules, really, except that it has to be submitted before 3 p.m. today. Together the six people (and one dog) in my department came up with an idea: one of our guys is a photographer, and two of our guys use Photoshop professionally. The photog took full-figure pics of everyone; then the two guys will use Photoshop to scramble whose head goes on which body and which body on which legs, and create a mixed-up group photo. I haven't seen it, but it should be a scream! I'll logon later in the day to see which group won. There's a cash prize for the winning photo. (One girl in our group is participating in two photos. The rules, such as they are, don't say you can't, but I personally don't think it's kosher for her to have TWO chances at the prize…) Anyway, wish us luck!

P.S. Just saw the first draft---oh boy, it's good!
