Christmas Countdown - 2014

Seeing a colorized version of "A Christmas Carol" is being released, at some point I will order the Alistair Sim version of "A Christmas Carol."
I will probably order the black & white version, but colorization looks so much better now than it use to.

This is just my opinion---I have both the colorized and black-and-white versions of the Sim "Carol" in one package, and to me, the black-and-white still rules. I know folks who grew up with all-color movies and television sometimes aren't comfortable with black-and-white. But for me, it is an integral part of the atmosphere.

"Cold" is the word. Of the two in his department, he had more age, experience, and ability---but the other guy is a party guy who isn't always reliable, but schmoozes with everybody in the building. And look at the choice they made. In some ways, that hurts more than anything: to know that 13 years of valuable, reliable, experienced work count for less than social connections. So he's feeling it on a personal level, and I'm hurting deeply for him. In some ways, he's probably better off cutting ties with that office.

*hugs MerryCarey* What a shocking situation! I'm so sorry to hear this. I'll pray that your husband will soon find a new (and better) job. Since he seems to be very experienced and hard working I'm sure he will find a great new job soon.

Oh Merry , I understand completely how awful you both must feel. I am so sorry that this has happened without any kind of warning or preparation. You both are in my prayers. I pray that Mister can find an even better opportunity right away. Again I am so sorry , this is so tough. Thinking of you - hang in there and keep courage.

It is always wrong when a company is unprofessional like that, and makes decisions on who is friends with whom. Experience & work ethic should always come first. I'm sorry that you guys are going through this. Continued prayers.

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Boy, it really rained here yesterday afternoon and last night, but today is clear as a bell and it's nice & cool! I just opened my office window and can feel the cool breeze. Nice!

Jacob & Elizabeth are still enjoying the ukulele. I had to tell them to stop singing & go to bed at 11pm last night!

I get Amazon, Netflix etc on our current tv through the blue-ray player. Our current tv connects to the internet, but there is no web browser. Weird. I haven't experimented with APPS or Netflix, etc on the new tv - other than the web browser. So much to learn. :lol:

I use our Blu-ray player for those, too. For some reason they're quicker and easier to navigate than versions in the TV.

We use our PS3 for Netflix upstairs, but our new smart tv is downstairs, and it's so nice to be able to watch Netflix down there now, too! Enjoy!

The interview went well, she'll we able to take a look at the team this friday. She likes the second nursing home better, as she would working in her "dream job". We will see if they like her as well. Beside her there is one other canditate.

@made & snowflake: I'm laughing at your comments. Not sure if its possible that the decorations really are as horrible as I picture them.

It appears to be a busy morning on here! Glad to see everyone is excited for our weekly visit to the 'Pines.

Nearly four weeks away from the Christmas Season certainly calls for a celebration!

I am back at Passport again today. I had a call last night but I missed it while I was training with a few friends/teammates. Hopefully another call will come tonight. I won't be away from my phone, that is for sure.

No real plans for after work. I will be going to the gym and then having dinner. Christmas-wise, I think I will see if Kim wants to go to Rideau either tomorrow or Friday evening to see if we can spot some Blossoms for the first time this calendar year.

Anyway, time to go back to work. Have a great Wednesday, everyone!
