Christmas Countdown - 2014

TGIF everyone. Great weather news this morning. We are now under a winter storm warning with 4-6 inches of snow expected. Starts as rain then turns to snow later tonight then snow most of the day Saturday. We are also supposed to have 20-30 MPH winds so we could lose power. Even losing power would be fun. I will fill a bathtub with water tonight to flush the toilets (we have a well so no power = no water). Use the fireplace to heat the house. Eating snow creme on Saturday. It should be a wonderful weekend.

I honestly can't believe we have got to this day! Tomorrow is the start of November! I had a look at the Christmas24 schedule and there seems to be quite a few movies I haven't seen before so I am very excited about that! I am going to love having Christmas on in the background from tomorrow!!! But until then , it's all about candy, costumes, scary tales and pumpkins!!

Trick or Treat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like a kid today, looking forward to spending time with my grandkids, daughter and son-in-law this evening! We plan to have lots of fun!

On the Today Show each Halloween they go all out and they dress up for the occasion. They usually have a big revealing of the theme of costumes they wear at the beginning of the show - I am assuming they still do that? It's fun to watch! They have many Halloween segments throughout the show. I missed it last year but plan to watch it this morning.

I hope you all have a Spooky Fun Day/Night!!!

By the way, I never got any of my Christmas village out yesterday. It was a busy day then I just got way too tired to mess with it. I plan to start next week!

Well, it's turned cooler but we still managed to get well into the 60's yesterday.
This could all change by the weekend, however!
Right now, we record 45 degrees here in our sector of MMC.

Happy Halloween! 47 degrees and raining and supposed to change over to snow this evening. It's not going to be a great evening for the kids to be out. If they can brave the weather, we have plenty of candy for them!

Happy Halloween!!! It's chilly this am and my husband is off, yay!!! Got up early to workout and clean up and now I'm having breakfast. Enjoy the day and eat lots of candy!

Happy Halloween, MMC!!!!! It's a rainy chilly morning here in central Indy where we have already reached our high of 44 for today. It looks like the kids may get lucky though and the rain might move out before tonight. It's still going to be extremely windy and cold though. We may get a dusting of snow at some point during the day too. No big plans for me today. Just going to hang out here at home doing laundry and trying to get some cleaning done. Need to hit the job sites again too. Never got a chance to look at them yesterday. Then tonight, hopefully we will get some kids to hand out candy too while watching Hallmark. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a call from the window/door company today & they are supposed to install our blinds & trim work today. It's a good day for indoor work! He wants me to see the trim & the blinds 1st to make sure I think they match. Makes me a little nervous. He said they can re-order if I don't like it. Hmmmm! It sounded like he was coming over right away (to where I work) but that was an hour ago. Hopefully he will be here soon. It would be nice to have blinds since it's going to be getting dark an hour earlier next week. UGH!

Sad news this morning - my bosses Mom passed away at 5:30 this morning. it was a blessing, really - but still so sad!

We are going out for dinner with our lake neighbors tonight. Hopefully the restaurant will be toasty & warm!!! Tomorrow we are supposed to have a chili dump at the lake - it will be cold, but it must go on! We'll be watching the Buckeyes INSIDE tomorrow night - not on the big screen. Sunday we will be closing up at the lake & then we have a funeral viewing to go too (our neighbors Dad) & then I'll be going to the Christmas open house/ladies night at the hardware. I guess Sunday will be a busy day!

Good morning, everyone!

Two days in a row, I have received a call to teach at (somewhat) unconventional hours. I woke up this morning in preparation for my final shift at Passport. My alarm went off at 6:20am, as opposed to my 7am alarm for teaching. As soon as I jumped out of the shower, my phone rang. Perfect timing. I left a message at Passport. I have to go in sometime next week to sign my end of contract form and hand-in my badge. I would not have minded going in today, but I'd much rather be teaching.

Today is perfect for teaching. I have a nice mix of Science and Senior Math, both of which I cannot teach. The classes are very easy, however. Great students. In fact, one of the classes is writing a mid-term as I type! At least for me, it is a great way to end the workweek.

In terms of Halloween, a fair amount of students are here dressed in costume. There are some pretty good ones, too! I'm pretty sure that we all share the same sentiment... Halloween is already here?! With that said, I hope everyone in your area is safe and happy as well as getting more treats than tricks!

Our forecast here calls for a bit of rain this evening with it turning into mixed precipataion overnight and into Saturday morning. Temperatures should be hovering just above the feezing mark. It's going to be a chilly Halloween night.

Once again, I hope everyone has a great end to their workweek and final day of October. Flipping the calendars tomorrow morning will be a magical feeling. We're so close to our favourite Season. I am willing to bet it is so close that we can hear Bing, Andy, Perry, and so many other Christmas classic singers singing their famous songs in the distance. With each passing day, our smiles will only get brighter as the volume increases on those magical sounds.

Until then, Happy Halloween! Make sure that you and yours stay safe this evening!

Wow, you live in the place I can only dream of living in! Me and mom joked about packing up and going back to the mountains last night, so we could enjoy the snow. But we don't have a fireplace, so it would be too cold if the power went out.

Still, it might be worth it. :wink:
