Christmas Countdown - 2014

Back home from my Niece's birthday party!!! I think she enjoyed it and she got lots of good stuff. Now I'm going to watch the race and then I'll be back after it's over to catch up!!! (I'll be catching the packer game while the race is in commercial hoping to catch Snowflake on tv)

Well it's not rare that it snows in Oklahoma, but it is rare that it snows in mid-November! This is the scene outside my house...

 

[Holiday]

Hello everyone! First congrats to all the folks getting snow...we are cold in the 20's but sunny and no snow in the forecast until tues the 25th! My baby sister and bro in law are coming to my house and Brandi's folks are coming in from Boston so I pray no snow storms are going to hinder their travels.

I have to admit friends, that I have been in no Christmas mood this year...I am trying I really am but so far no go. I guess it's a lot of things without turning this post into a therapy session, but turning 40 in 2 weeks has got me bummed...not a lot of ppl may not understand I and I get that, but just trust me it's an issue for me..but anyway I have enjoyed the Halloween fall season, and I get a little sad when the leaves are all gone from the trees. In the years I have been a member here I have always had the spirit and so I practically lived online here...so I just hope between now and December I will have the spirit!!! Hope everyone is hunkered down for this winter storms that is plowing through the Midwest,Ohio valley,Northeast today and tomorrow...and then the artic air that is following!!

(((Hugs))) Dawg! 40 'aint so bad! I was a little bummed by it too, but now I have to ask...am I 42 or 43??? :lol: My sister just informed me the other night I'm 43...swore I was 42! Darnit!!! We have to appreciate every birthday...we're not all guaranteed another!!

looking at this picture I realized I totally forgot to put the ornaments on the tree when I set it up!! I wondered why they said the topper was to plain, rrrrr

Thanks!! and yeah I have done that in my 30's...sometimes I had to actually think for a few minutes and then do the math by the year I was born! life is so funny sometimes....

That is actually amazing...the detail and I LOVE the pumpkins(jack-olanterns) I like how it intermingles the 2 holidays!

Looks really pretty..but what the heck! You still have leaves on your trees? Is that a Bradford Pear tree by chance? well if so those do fall late...when I lived in Ga we had some in our yard and some years they were still turning orange and red and falling the week of Christmas!

Hey, dawg--- not a therapist, just someone over 40... I know it's hard, but don't get hung up on age. 40 is just a number. Your wife, your family, your friends will love you just as much. It's not where you are on life's journey, it's what you get out of the journey. I know it's a solemn time. I had a milestone birthday in 2013; I found myself wondering if I'd done anything really worthwhile with my decades on earth. I haven't made much of a mark. Some days that gets me down; other days I'm just grateful for the blessings I enjoy every day, even when things aren't going well. As a member of the military, you've already done more for the world than I ever will. Don't overlook that. Age is just a number. It's what you do with your life that's important.

Good Sunday evening, my Christmas friends!

We just got home from an afternoon at mom's. She made lasagna good enough to make Garfield cry!

After dinner I went out to check the StealthCam, but something had messed up, and it didn't take any pictures all week. Oh, well. I made sure it was working and I re-set it. I got a few big bucks last week. I'll try to remember to post a couple.

All I can think of after I saw the promo for Northpole 2, is the scene from Spaceballs where they are talking about the sequel to Spaceballs while making the first one. Of course the title was Spaceballs 2: The Quest for more money, so I am thinking Northpole 2: The Quest for More Money. cheesy

Merry Sunday! I am leaving for work in a bit. It is going to be a very busy day!! I can't wait to be back home with a hot chocolate and a Christmas movie. I plan on watching Angels and Ornaments tonight, I have never seen it.

I am curious about Northpole after reading your posts about it. Hopefully we will get it here at some point.

you are still young, I am going to be 60 in a couple of years and have learned to stop worrying about numbers, it is a waste of precious time.
I am sorry it is an issue for you and hope you can work through it as you celebrate the amazing life you have had so far !! ((((HUGS))))
