Christmas Countdown - 2014

It's definitely getting colder!!!! :cold:

Yes it is!!!! Brr!!!!

Good afternoon everyone!

It's been a busy day teaching. A busy September day. Wait. No. It feels like September. Temperatures have reached a warm 18c here in Ottawa. That's the around 65f!

It was a busy weekend in Cornwall this weekend, too. Kim and I were busy with (her) family functions. Kim's sister's 30th birthday surprise party was a success. She had no idea! Yesterday was also enjoyable, thanks in large part to the Packers winning over the Vikings. The rest of the weekend was good. Simon (the cat) made the trip with us to Cornwall for his second adventure. He was fantastic. The traveling was tough. He doesn't like being in a confined area. Impressively, however, he has now somewhat overcome his fear of Kim's mom's dog Toby and is able to walk around almost all of the house. From time to time, he'll become a little weary of the dog and make sure he's away and safe from him, but Kim and I were both amazed.

Anyway, I should get searching for some teaching things. I hope you enjoyed your second weekend of the Christmas Season!

Glad Simon is doing a lot better and that you guys had a great trip!!!!

Well, I think I have the week covered;

Monday - work, leave early!
Tuesday - Call in sick
Wednesday - Vacation day
Thursday - Thanksgiving
Friday - Company paid day off/ Holiday

Sounds like a plan to me.....:!!

Now that sounds about perfect to me!!!!

I'm planning to stay in tonight & make the "Make Ahead Freezer Twice Baked Potatoes" for the party with the in-laws & I'll probably bake the bacon for the 7 layer salad tonight for my side of the family too! And I can't forget to get the turkey breast out of the freezer & move it to the fridge. So exciting!!!! :grin:

Well my niece was feeling better by the time my sister picked her up. So I had her dusting for me while I diced up all of the celery and onion. I got my eggs boiled too. Also got mom to do all of the tests online that she had to do before tomorrow. So it's been a pretty productive day. Going to rest a while before finishing dinner and cleaning out the fridge.

Work is going fine, on a break right now and went out to clean off my car again. Hope it's not as ice covered when I leave tonight.

We nearly reached 50 degrees yesterday, now we have a severe winter weather advisory going on through tomorrow. Snow, white out conditions, etc. Crazy weather!

Good morning, friends! Hope you all have a great start to your week!

Last afternoon/evening, I seemed to start coming down with what the kids had. I starting running a fever and just felt blah. Thank goodness DH was here - I had to work last night, so I went to bed. Work called around 9 pm and told me I had to take a mandatory on-call because it was slow - I was okay with that, since I wasn't feeling the best! Anyway, I got a good night of sleep and seem to be feeling somewhat better.

Both of the kids headed to school today. They just both have the lingering colds, but seem to be getting better. It's that time of the year!

I plan to just do some wash today and decorate a few more things. As of right now, we plan on decorating the tree Friday. Can't wait!

Good Monday morning all. We have finished our Christmas decorating and our son is coming home from college tonight. We don't decorate much outside since no one would see it but us. There are no fulltime residents past our house on the mountain and all the vacationers & part-timers are gone for the winter. We do quite a bit inside for ourselves though.

Nice weather Saturday but yesterday was rainy and too warm. Today will be sunny and much too warm with a high in the low 60s. However better weather is coming for the rest of the week and a chance of snow Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. Saw that the long range forecast is for above normal temps the first week of December. Not good news.

There's some talk of a few inches of snow Wednesday night ... I hope not. It would mess up Thanksgiving for SO many people. (We're okay, though, because Mr. and I just have Thanksgiving at home.)

It may be another crazy week at work, but at least it should be a short one. I hope we close early on Wednesday because I string the lights on our tree when I get home and set it up. Then I decorate it over the weekend. I may pop into the office over the weekend to decorate around my desk. I did that last year, and co-workers got a kick out of seeing the decorations when they came in the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Good Morning, MMC!!!! It's a warm morning here with a temp in the 50's. It's going to fall through out the day though until we hit the low 30's by tonight. I had planned on doing a lot of cleaning today but that is useless with my niece here. So I'm going to concentrate on getting my eggs boiled and my celery and onions all chopped up. Then I can throw my macaroni salad together quickly tomorrow. I also need to make mom get all of her stuff together for a orientation thing that she has to go to an the unemployment office tomorrow. First things first though. I've got to keep this girl from eating me out of house and home. She's had pop tarts, eggs, toast, and a banana yet she is still complaining she is hungry. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!

Hi! Well, It's Monday! Good morning~

Here we are, off to the start of another work week and for some reason, I had this really weird feeling this morning. You know what I mean, the kind like where you get this really weird feeling, but you can't exactly put your finger on it...

Well, I just found out what it is, my boss called me and his 2 other favorite / dependable guys into the executive conference room and he informed us that he is putting in his 2 week notice at lunch. Just great! He is just about the best thing that has ever happened to this company, he's a great boss, phenomenal engineer, good person and I consider him a friend as well...I sort of feel a little sick to my stomach at the moment.

I think I have a case of the Mondays.....

So sorry to hear about your boss xmastidings (((hugs)))
