In MS for a post Thanksgiving / pre Christmas visit to my parents' house! They've got all four trees up and Christmas music playing around the house pretty much at all times. Family friends I grew up with stopping by to say hello, eating Christmas fudge and cheese! My son saw his first Christmas tree and loves it! We are having a wonderful week. It's been warmer here but the overcast that has come with the rainy weather has made that wintry look outside. Looking and feeling like Christmas!

She is having a bit of a rough week, but not as bad as the past couple. She is done with the antibiotics, but her stomach has been upset. Having a tough time getting back in the winter routine, less outdoor exercise, etc.

Super foggy here this morning. It's just now clearing up enough that I can see the other side of our parking lot at work. I wish it would cool down a bit; it's supposed to be close to 80° today. But me and the other guy here in the engineering office put up our Christmas tree a few minutes ago, so it's feeling more Christmassy!

Elizabeth has dance and Jacob has band tonight, so it's another night on the road for Nancy.

Wow its getting busy around here, lots of posts on the forums. It seems the rest of the world is catching up with us. Almost finished the decorations. Tomorrow night should finish it, I've just one more garland to put up.

This is our tree complete. Hope everyone is doing well. I'll hopefully get caught up tonight on some posts.

I have concluded after 12 years of making merry that there are a large number of individuals suffering (or not) from the same Yule Oral Ability that I have discovered in myself.

The symptoms are:

~Reading Christmas books, novels, comics, letters, cards, etc. after January 31st and prior to Nov.1st.
~Re-reading those same books (etc.) year after year or month after month
~Keeping a festive journal of plans, gift & decorating ideas along with recipes
~Counting down the days until Christmas Day arrives (this includes, for many, a new countdown on Boxing Day)
~Talking about Christmas all year long
~Thinking about Christms in your head (dwelling in that Christmas closet afraid to tell those around you what you are thinking)
~Recalling Christmases of the past - brought about by someone else’s words or a sound or a smell you encounter
~Music - of a Yule nature - plays in your head or emits from your CD, MP3, iPod, turntable, etc. in the “off season”.
~Others see a pine tree, you see a tree transformed into a Christmas display of lights, ornaments, beads, garland, tinsel or cranberry and popcorn strings.
~You dream of a white Christmas in June and again in December (even if you live in a climate that never receives snow)
~You nod your head knowingly when you hear a child in a school yard yell “ouch!” after freeing his/her tongue from the frosty flagpole
~You wear Christmas socks or bells that jingle on your shoes - just because
~You crave eggnog, hot cocoa and wish you had a fire nearby to roast marshmallows or chestnuts (even if they don’t taste good - bleh)
~You start your letter to Santa early to avoid the Christmas rush
~The Merry jargon you use is not understood by the general public, family and co-workers.
~You have difficulty finding the humour in a joke if it isn’t followed by a jolly HoHoHo.
~You make up festive operas and perform at the Shispering Pines Playhouse
~You dream of going to the North Pole

Oh my goodness, I'm glad she's alright!!!
I caught the kitten chewing on a bulb earlier, I had to unplug the lights on the tree. Never a dull moment...

I agree, they look very lovely and well organized in placement.......I know I'm a perfectionist......I hate sloppy trees!!!!!!

Good Morning, MMC!!! It's going to be a chilly one here with a high of 35. We are also going to get some freezing rain here in about an hour. Boo!!! I did have plans to run some errands today but I won't be doing that now. I also have 2 little girls here with colds. So my main goal for today is to keep them out of my bedroom so they don't see anything. I'll be back to catch up after I get them settled. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bitter Apple Spray...at most pet superstores and some vets. Basically the bitter principal of apple seeds in alcohol. Spray it on and the alcohol evaporates leaving the bitter principal. Helped me tremendously with a dog (now passed) who was well behaved except that she loved to chew on old books. I also used it a preventative for a puppy who was teething as I'd heard horror stories from others about their furniture being damaged by another teething puppy.

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve! It could be a long day at work today! My friend & I are leaving for Brown County, IN after work today & I'm soooo excited!!! :???::???::???:

I have a few things to throw in the suit case yet, but I'm pretty much packed up & ready to roll. We won't arrive until probably 8:30-9:00 tonight, we'll grab a bite to eat & a drink & then we'll have all day there tomorrow! As long as made has the roads clear for us, (and the deer stay out of our way) we should have good travels! I'm going to miss this face though:
