Xmas: just realized that the Bengals played the Steelers today. Glad Steelers won - no offense! When this time of the year rolls around, I usually don't watch too much football, so I didn't even realize who they were playing today.

Molly had a great night, slept right through. Maggie was up and down again. It's so strange. She gets restless and then she'll start rolling around like somethings bothering her but we can't figure out what it is. Yesterday during her exam the doctor said she thinks she might have a tender spot on her back so we started her on an anti-inflammatory to see if that might help. I don't think there is anything wrong with her back but I was willing to try the pills for a few days. She doesn't have an ear infection, no fleas. I don't know. This dog is going to drive me to drink!

My O'Malley still worries me a bit with his health - it seems to come and go. I understand your frustration when the VET can't quite figure things out.

Chilly but sunny morning here. Another cake done and waiting for pick up

My youngest granddaughters would go crazy over that cake.

Good afternoon!

Just put up some outdoor lights. I had been putting them on a yew hedge near our front door, but Mr. thinks they might detract from the Christmas tree visible through the front window. We have a cedar that's maybe 8 or 9 feet tall at the opposite corner of the house, so I put some C7 lights on that for the first time. Don't know how well I did---we'll have to wait for dark to see how they look. In front of the hedge I put a string of five pathway Santas. Each is lit from inside with white LEDs, and each holds a little lantern with a flickering yellow LED inside. It operates on batteries. Don't know how that will look until dark either! I'm a complete novice at outdoor deco. My attempts usually look pretty lame. No relation to the Griswolds at all.

Indoors I put up Santa's Quartet (Mr. Christmas) for the first time in several years. I decided I just had to find a spot for it and get it up and running again. Santa and three bears sing barbershop harmony when you switch it on. There are 15 different songs. I also have a Mr. Christmas music box with different song discs that I haven't set up in years, but I just don't have anyplace for it. Unless … hm … under the tree … ?

Rolling along and I am closer to being ready after picking up several gifts today. Whew!

We just braved the mall! Loved the hustle and bustle. The problem is I am done shopping and just saw Woody and Buzz from Toy Story at the Disney store for $15 a piece!! Can't beat it. Might send the hubby there on his way home from work one day! My children's Christmas grows larger each day lol!

Now I am making some cookie dough and freezing it. Yum!

Hello everyone. Thank you all for the prayers and support! Y'all are the best and I truly value this community.

Bradmac, I'm praying as I read your family is going through some tough things.

Well, my kids are upset with the loss of another grandpa. But some fun things still happened. First of all, with Saint Nicholas Day, Nicholas still left some chocolate coins in their shoes over night. Then, our elf on the shelf left lots of candy canes, and introduced them to her new pet reindeer. My daughter was so excited to see the new friend who will be with Peppermint Patty this year.
