Christmas Countdown - 2014

Well it turned out to be a rough night. We had learned last week that one of our family friend had his cancer return for the 3rd time. Tonight we got the call that he had passed away yesterday. They live in the southern part of Indiana now so we didn't get to see them as much lately but we spent a lot of time together when we were younger. So Saturday we will be headed down for the funeral. It's about a 2 hour drive so it will be an all day thing.

So with that, I'm going to call it a night and work on getting back some of my Christmas spirit before tomorrow.

We screened "It's a Wonderful Life" this evening---a very nice 16mm print. Really puts me in the mood! Also listened to some Kringle Radio. Looking forward to tomorrow, in spite of the pouring rain. Christmas Eve is about my favorite day of the year.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! I received the afghan today that I won at the World's Largest Christmas Party! It is truly beautiful and will be put to good use! Also, I spoke to my son when he called this evening and he sounded so much stronger and better! I hope all of you have the happiest Christmas ever!

Yesterday we had a small early Christmas....my bro and his fam won t be there for Christmas...going on a weeklong vacation to the South of Germany...so went for pre Xmas Dinner...my mom, dad, my grandma, my bro, his wife and their two kids....plus Kandice and I....we went to a local Italian Restaurant......and my grandmother are her First Pizza ever in her entire life!!! [emoji38]....She loved it....when we came back ....Christkindl and Santa put some presents under the tree already...just the ones from my bro s fam for Kandice and the parents and grandma...and our presents for the Kids.....so Kandice was treated to a Lego Friends Jungle hideout!!!!!


Now the potatoes are Cookinseln for the potatoes Salad we will have in the evening!!!!

Well folks another Christmas Eve has arrived. Had an unplanned dentist trip to fix a broken front tooth, now I'm back on schedule. My wife and I are heading out to get some lunch and soak up the atmosphere that only Christmas Eve can bring.

Sorry for your loss. We know all too well what it is like to lose family and friends during the holidays. We no longer let that dampen the holidays as we figure they would not want their death to bring us down during the season. It is tough though.

Good Morning MMC !!!

5c (41f), pouring rain, strong wind warnings and going up to 11c (52f), even a possible thunder storm... yup going to be a rare green Christmas here this year.

Off to work in an hour, then have some grocery shopping to do, After that I can go home and relax while doing the prep for Christmas dinner.
