We went to look at Christmas lights last night and this is one of my favorite houses. The picture doesn't do it justice - you have to be there to really appreciate it. Also there are way more details and I could not get it all in once picture.

Merawll! That means, "363 jolly days to go".
Malleybanner252x188-1.jpg

As the years stroll along, I find myself looking to experience Christmas as a child again. I know I can never really go back, except through memories, to those glorious times with family, neighbours, relatives, pets, etc. That could be part of my disappointment when Christmas rolls around. I wake up on Christmas morning expecting to be back in my bedroom with the hand-painted 100-Acre Wood on my wall in my bedroom and I'm seven again.

Yet, I find at times I feel that special joy when I visit Christmas forums or when I see children in a line-up waiting to share their secret wish with Santa or Church Bells ringing on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day calling across the city "come let us adore Him".

I recall with great fondness plodding off into the snowy woods to pick the best tree that would be transformed into a twelve-foot beautiful Christmas Tree standing tall in the corner nearly touching our Cathedral ceiling. My mom decorated the house while my brothers and I went to fetch the tree with our dad. We had an artificial "kiddie tree" in the family room that we decorated ourselves with plastic Disney ornaments and school crafts along with garland instead of tinsel. (My dad was the Tinsel King, he placed tinsel on our twelve-foot tree one strand at a time - no clumps allowed.)

Christmas at our house was perfect with the tree, the music, the company and the special food and gifts; the family togetherness was the best part for me.

Stumbling onto my first Christmas forum paved the way here and although I haven't been visiting as much the last few years as I have in the past, I think of you all dearly and keep you in my heart just like I do with those special Christmas memories.

So from my house to yours, I wish you peace, joy and fond reflections of Christmas past while planning for Christmas future and wish you well in the New Year!

Really nice post, Auntie. VERY special post series-worthy!

For me, it's primarily the music that takes me back. Certain Christmas songs of the past really remind me of those misty days of yore. No responsibility or worries. Life was all about fun.

I think we don't really covet going back in time. What we really want is to recapture the feel -- the mindset we experienced back then. A time of optimism. A time when we felt life and happy experiences were forever. A time when our future was much longer than our past.

But, I don't want to sound like a downer. Later life has its benefits, too.
Primarily seeing the next generation grow and develop -- including the continuation of the miracle season of Christmas!

Beautiful!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas Day. I continue on to Epiphany. Goodnight all.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Graywolf!!!!!

Hey everyone. I tried so hard to get on the site yesterday but not sure what was happening. The day was a good one for us but so very hectic! I am glad to have today to just relax and do nothing. I kept thinking about you guys from time to time during the day. I really hope you all had a fabulous time I look forward to counting down the next year with you all.

But ... we still have celebrating to do. So lets not rush the final few days of merriment. Continue to enjoy the rest of the season.

Best wishes!

Glad you had a great Christmas, Festive!!!! Enjoy your day relaxing!!!!!

Thank you buddy!

I wish the same for you! (((Hugs)))

Good morning!
I can't believe it's over. All of that preparing and then it goes by so quickly. It was a fabulous day, as always. I'm looking forward to counting down to Christmas 2015 with all of you. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas.
My house looks like it's been ransacked. It's definitely going to take me a few days to straighten up. I'll start that later today. I plan on going to Hallmark this morning to see what kind of bargains I can find. Other than that, I need to work on a menu plan and grocery list for next week. That's about it for me today.
Have a great day everyone!!!

I know!!! I hate that it passes by so quickly!!!! This year especially!!!

Hope you find some great deals at Hallmark and that it doesn't take as long as you fear to get everything straightened up. Have a good day, HMG!!!!!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be a beautiful day out today with a high near 50 and the sun is already shining!!!! My aunt said the roads were terrible this morning though with a thin layer of ice on them. They should be better now though. That's good because I have a lot to do today!!! I need to go find me a new shirt to wear to the funeral tomorrow and then I will probably look for a couple of new Santa's. Need to pick up some cards for next year's exchange as well!! Then it will be back home to clean up around here. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!
