Thanks for all the kind words about my Aunt Betty, y'all. Her son is the pastor of a church in the GA mountains, and he presided over the service. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to do that, but his faith is so strong that he's truly happy that his mom is with his dad again. I have that faith, but I'd still be too sad for myself to speak to a congregation.

On a different note, a big ol' turkey ran out in the rode in front of me earlier. He started flying and barely missed my windshield. Freaked me out! the I saw another walking beside the road a couple miles further down. The turkeys are on the move!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I got a haircut yesterday afternoon, and I told the girl to cut it a little shorter than we usually do. She obviously took my request to heart. Everyone is commenting on how short my hair is...even Nancy! Well, my hair grows quickly, so in a week I'll be back to normal. I kinda like it short!

I have to go to a funeral this morning for my Great Aunt Betty. What a wonderful, selfless lady she was. Most families have that member who can drop everything to take care of another family member in need, and that was Aunt Betty. She and Uncle Charles actually moved in (from Jacksonville) with my grandparents when my grandma was to sick to take care of herself, and they stayed almost a year. Bless your heart, Aunt Betty. Thank you , and we love you!

Good Morning, MMC!!!! It's going to be another cool day here and it looks like it's going to be mostly cloudy with a chance of rain this afternoon. I've been busy trying to get some stuff done around here this morning. So far I've done dishes, taken out trash, I'm on my second load of laundry, and have meatball stew in the crockpot for dinner. Now to start getting ready for the job fair. Looking at the list of whose going to be there, I wonder if the army will let me enlist? LOL!!!! Maybe I can convince one of the 10 schools that they should pay me to come there instead of me paying them. We shall see. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon and Happy Wed my Christmas Loving Friends. Well we are in the final stretch of little league.. only 2 more weeks left.

Its hard to believe that today is opening day for the you-pick strawberry fields beacuse it feels more like a fall day today then a spring day. Not that I am complaining mind you I love this kind of weather! We are going early Saturday morning to pick a bunch of strawberries and then my daughter and I will spend the rest of the weekend making and canning strawberry jam. Most will be for our use but some will be used for Christmas gifts!

These cool temps are suppose to stick around for the next several days but then its going to heat up. Not looking forward to the elecric bill this summer.

Good Afternoon my friends. I could not get on-line last night from home, because my internet was/is still down. I don't know why, I has a suspicion that because we had some really wicked thunderstorms Monday night, may of had something to do with it. And those were wicked storms, the lightning was crashing all around the house and there was a lightening strike right by the house that created a huge power surge in the electric and telephone system. I think the router got fried...

I'm logging in from work so at least I can say hi....

Good morning everyone!
It is going to be a nice day, partly sunny with temperatures in the mid 60's. Not too much going on here today. I have to run to the doctor this morning for a B12 shot, I cancelled last week when I was sick. And I'm going to do some clothes shopping this afternoon, I need a few things for the warmer weather. Other than that I'll be working on my daily chores. That's about it for me. Hope everyone is well and has a great day!

Well, mid-week 'Pines Day has come around once again.
Cycling -- ever cycling.

And as those wheels turn, we again direct our attention to the daily numbers:
Days to the Season: 177
Days to Christmas Day: 219

Nineteen days.
That's all that is left until we reach the 200-day Christmas Day Window.
(Not really very far away, is it?)


Warm yesterday and rain threatened for a while, but I saw nothing beyond a very light sprinkle.
Today should be clear, with rain again possible tomorrow.
This morning has awakened us to 68 degrees here in the capital city.

Good morning MMC! Happy Hump/Pines Day!

Not much going on around here again today! I got more flowers planted at home last night. I cut a bunch of asparagus again in the garden ~ asparagus overload this year! :wink: I also got a visit from the US Census Bureau. Our address has been chosen to take part in a 30-45 minute survey. OH JOY! Hoping we can do it online, otherwise they will be back in a couple weeks to do it. Gracie's friend Lexi was over last night ~ they had a blast!! My neighbor got some good video of it! Other than that, it was a pretty uneventful night! cheesy

Thank goodness it's almost lunch time! Might be a little too chilly for walking Gracie...it's only 47º (feels like 44) & windy...and I don't feel like bundling up on May 20th! :lol: I guess I'll decide when I get home!

Good Afternoon, Minta!!! Have fun picking the strawberries this weekend. I remember doing it as a kid and get sad driving by the land that used to be the farm. A landscaping company now uses it as a parking lot.

Well the job fair seemed to go well. I talked to the 4 companies I wanted too and kind of browsed around all of the rest of the booths. I tried to talk the army guy into letting me enlist and skip that whole basic training thing but he said no. So I had to mark that off the list. LOL!!

Thanks Made, yes it sure is a thing that you miss, when you don't have it.... I called and the earliest I can get Comcast out there to take a look at it, is not until tomorrow at 9:30. Now, I have to find someone to meet them there or take off the morning from work and be there myself~
