Good morning everyone. I only have a few minutes, my husband and I have an appointment in a little while with Molly's surgeon. There are a few things that need to be addressed and I was too distraught on Wednesday to discuss them. Other than that it will be a typical day here. Trying to stay close to Maggie, she seems lost without Molly here. Just trying to give her extra attention and love. I'll try and pop back in this afternoon. Hope everyone is well.

You are the best (((hugs)))

Thank you so much ~
Hugs and prayers.

Thank you, you are too! [emoji169]

Good Morning, Excited Eve'ers.

But there's more to be excited about than just Weekend Eve.

Let's peruse the numbers:
Days to the Season: 154
Days to Christmas Day: 196

TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!
That's when we arrive at the fifty percent Milestone to Christmas Day 2015.
(Well, I would say that's plenty to be excited about for one day!)

Even more warm and humid as we approach 90 degrees for our afternoon highs, with mid-90's predicted for the days ahead.
(With no rain in the forecast, it won't be long before the grass will start crunching under foot again.)
We have started this last day of the work week at 76 degrees here in the capital city of North Carolina.

Have a Fantastically Fabulous Friday, Friends!

Good morning MMC! HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I'm not sure that I'll be able to catch up on here since I was off work yesterday & I only work a half day today, but I'm sure going to try!!

I had a great day with Mom yesterday. She was feeling pretty good. She said she felt a little shaky in the morning but she looked & acted fine. After her afternoon nap, she felt great. We snapped, blanched & froze green beans. I fried, crumbled, & froze a pkg of bacon. We made cut out cookies. We had homemade tomato soup, grilled cheese, asparagus from the garden & melon my sister had cut up for lunch. She crocheted. We went to the "beauty parlor" ~ a cut for me, & mom had her hair done. We went to the grocery store. She sat outside with me while I hung clothes on the line, but we decided it was TOO HOT to stay out there. We went out for Mexican for supper with some of the family. Gracie was in heaven having Grandma over all day! It was a fun day! Here was Moms ride from my sisters house to our house on Wednesday night! cheesy

Have a Merry Friday everyone!!

Thanks, Holiday!!! The next time you are down by Richmond, you should hop on 70 and head west about 6 miles to check out the candle store for yourself!!! It's really nice and they have all kinds of stuff!!!! Including a wine section!!!! LOL!!!!! There is a little garden store right next door too that I didn't get a chance to check out but it looks like it has some cool stuff too.

Hey! Thanks for the tip! My hubby's uncle owns a business in Richmond. I should hitch a ride with him to work some day & spend a day at those shops. Sounds like an awesome day!!

It sounds like the doctor is doing everything right! Hope taking her off the medication helps. Continued prayers for your mom!

Thanks sugar! I hope so too!!!

Well my connection seems to back even though it's still cutting out some. Fingers crossed that it holds on.

xx

Just started my new job yesterday and have my first day without orientation tomorrow...myself and another person in the same position are starting together and we're getting thrown right in!

I've been listening to Christmas music to keep my blood pressure nice and low :)

Has anyone else thought about the fact that June 15th means the year is halfway over? Just means we're over the hump or pines for Christmas!! Happy thought of the day.

Sorry to hear about Molly by the way. It's always hard to lose a pet.

I hope your 1st day with the wolves went well!!! Crazy that we are almost half way through the year. CRAZY!

Have a good night with your mother.

Please share that recipe for Twix cookies, I love Twix and cookies. Sounds like it could be promising.

Thanks xmas! The cookies were pretty darn tasty. I brought some in to work today! They really aren't as big of a pain as they sound ~ they cut out really nice & the chocolate glides right on ~ the worst part was the caramel, but it wasn't horrible either!

Twix-Cookies-200x300.jpg

Twix Cookies

Shortbread Cookies
1½ cups butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
¼ teaspoon salt

Caramel Layer
15 oz of caramel (I use Peter's caramel that comes in a 5 lb. block because I can simply just melt it down in the microwave as is and its ready to go, no evaporated milk required, but you can use Kraft caramels as well. Just follow package directions for melting)
2 Tablespoons evaporated milk

Chocolate layer
2 cups milk chocolate chips
2 teaspoons shortening

Instructions
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2.In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together. Add vanilla, flour and salt and mix until well combined.
3.Dump dough onto a lightly flour surface.
4.Roll dough out to ½ inch thick.
5.With a small biscuit cutter, cut out cookies and place on greased cookie sheet.
6.Bake at 350 degrees F 14-16 minutes.
7.Remove from oven and let cookies cool completely.
8.Melt caramel according to package directions. Spread over cooled cookies. Let caramel cool completely before spreading on the chocolate.
9.In a small microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and shortening in 30 second increments, stirring in between each increment until melted and smooth. Spread over the tops of cooled caramel.
10.Let chocolate set before eating and serving. I popped mine in the fridge/freezer to get the chocolate to set faster.

I'll try to remember. A photo probably won't do it justice, though! I was thumbing through my collection last night and saw some postcards that I forgot I had. It's also fun trying to read the 100+-year-old messages on the back! One of them says (remember, it's a July Fourth postcard): "Hope you don't blow to pieces." Another one says, "Hully gee it's hot!" Some things never change!

Sounds like a wonderful day! It's exhilarating to read about it!

Good evening everyone.
I can't thank you all enough for your prayers. I am completely devastated over the loss of Molly. She was the first dog I ever owned. We brought her home when my youngest started Kindergarten. I was lonely with the girls in school all day and Molly filled that void. She was a loving companion, incredibly sweet and made me smile every single day. My heart hurts and my arms are aching to hold her. I will miss her forever.
Thank you all again.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know that it's just as real as any blood-related family. I can't help, but I completely understand. take care.
