Sorry to hear about your glass dish & especially about having to throw away all that chicken! What a big bummer!!!

Thanks Holiday! I was more upset about dinner being ruined than I was about the glass dish. The chicken looked so good!

So glad Maggie had a better night!!! Sophia just wanted to PLAY!!!! :jump

Thank you!
Sophia is nuts. I think I might have to start keeping my bedroom door closed at night!

Prayers for you guys. How frustrating!

Thank you so much.
xx

I just added it to my recipe book, so here you go:

Hearty Ham and Potato Soup

5 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
1 10-3/4-oz. can cream of potato soup
1 10-3/4-oz. can cream of celery soup
6 cups milk, divided
1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1 stalk chopped celery
4 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. flour
1-1/4 cups diced ham
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 to 3/4 tsp. salt
1-1/4 tsp. dried parsley
Shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Boil potatoes in medium saucepan and cook just until fork tender; drain and set aside. In a medium bowl, combine the cream of potato and cream of celery soups with 4 cups milk; mix well and set aside. Using a large pan over medium-low heat, sauté carrots and onions in butter until tender. Remove vegetables, leaving butter in pan. Over medium-low heat, add flour to butter; mix well and allow to cook 1 to 2 minutes. Slowly add remaining 2 cups milk, stirring constantly until sauce becomes thick and bubbly; reduce heat to low. To the sauce, add the soup and milk mixture, potatoes, carrots, onions, ham, salt, pepper and dried parsley. Stirring often, simmer over low heat for 30 minutes or until soup is hot and ready to serve. Garnish with shredded cheese before serving if desired. Note: More milk can be added to taste if a thinner soup is
desired.
** I also added seasoning salt & garlic powder.

Thanks Holiday, I'm going to print it out right now! :)

I almost forgot I have to take Gracie to the groomer today! She's looking so fluffy & cute right now, I hate to have it cut off! But she does get matted, so .... off we go! See ya after lunch!

:gifty Peace To All, Ms Rose

Good afternoon/evening MsRose!
Hope you're having a happy Wednesday!!!

Evening everyone,
Just a quick visit tonight. I went to bed last night feverish and achy and haven't been feeling all that great today. It didn't help that it was a hectic day too.

I have barely had time to sit. Lovely day though. My youngest had his Harvest assembly :) He and his classmates sang harvest songs. So cute!! My other son's harvest day is on Friday at the local church. I always look forward to it.

Last day of September!! WOW!

Sorry I can't catch up but hope you are all well and ready to welcome October!

Good evening Festive, so sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Sending up prayers, hope you get well soon.

Hope you have a good night!

Have a good night Holiday!

Good morning and Happy Pines Day!
The soup sounds delicious, please share the recipe when you have the time!
Hope the rest of your day goes well!!!

I love homemade soup - bring it on, Holiday! I usually use a tomato base, but have tried a few chowders now and then. I tried a pea soup with diced ham and garden vegetables, but it didn't turn out like the stuff in the can - it was good, but it wasn't as thick. Lentil soup is good too.

Can't. Believe. It's. The. Last. PinesDay. Of. September!!!! Didn't we JUST have the 1st "Ber" Pines Day????
See ya tonight! Stay dry!

Sure feels like that doesn't it? Whew! Another month nearly off the clock and we greet one of my favourite months of the year. Yes, I love OCTOBER! Several birthday, our Anniversary and the leaves are beginning to turn to glorious shades and then of course there's the Canadian Thanksgiving and Ontario apples of every size and type - Mmmmmmmm. I make "apple-lanterns" when I eat apples (minus the candles), I bite faces into the apple to make them look like "jacks" something I've been doing since I was a kid.
My dad used to eat his apples with a steak knife, a shaker of salt and a slice of old cheddar cheese - perhaps I got my love of apples from him.
