Hope Harlowe feels better. My dog was sick this summer. He wound up having a slipped disc...could barely stand let alone walk. As we brought him to the emergency room my sister asked him if he was ok and he licked her face as if to say "don't worry about me." Dogs are amazing. I wish sometimes people were as amazing as dogs are!
I really hate when they are sick, it breaks my heart.
I picked up that pill gun yesterday for Maggie. She did not cooperate at all. I tried to force her mouth open but I'm so afraid of hurting the poor thing.
Please know that I'm praying hard for you guys.
Good Wednesday morning MMC. Ahh Wednesday just feels better than Monday/Tuesday doesn't it? It's currently 52 degrees under partly cloudy skies in the suburbs of NY. Should be another beautiful early Autumn Day with lots of sunshine and a high temp around 72 degrees. Can't beat that weather.
I studied some last night for my exam tomorrow. It's hard after work to go home and study. I tell ya...whoever said going back to school after you're a grown up and working for years was sure right. I am gonna try to give whatever I have left in me today once I get home from work since Thursday is the exam. The good news is Friday and the weekend I won't have any homework to do since that exam will be over and the Professor did not assign anything for after that. Gotta look at the positives there. Anyway, how's everyone feeling this mid-week?
Hope you all have a great hump day. These October days are nice. My Yankees lost last night in the wildcard game. Oh well the good thing is I think they have some young players and are finally rebuilding. It's long overdue. Talk to you all later!

Dogs are amazing-agreed about people.
Harlowe was very sick when she was younger, with liver problems. When she has troubles like this, my fear is that those serious liver function issues have returned.

I was at my wits end, and exhausted, so I tried to put it in the side of her mouth when she yawned, and then hold her muzzle shut. But she struggled & I didn't want to hurt her.

I'm heading to the library this morning, I need to make a few photocopies and I have to renew my card. Think I'll borrow some cookbooks while I'm there. I'm also going to take a ride to Target for a few things. Having lunch with my mother today too. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

You have probably already tried this bu have you tried grinding the pill into small bits or powder. Or if it's a capsule - empty the powder out onto her tongue or into something she may eat? Hold her head gently upward and massage her throat , this should cause her to swallow. Sorry if it you've already tried, just trying to think of someway to help. Used to do this with my cats and dogs.
Well hopefully that's not the case for her. Hopefully she feels better.
My dog needed surgery...it was either that or he was basically going to be crippled. 6K later yeah it did work...he gets around pretty good now. I wouldn't say he runs around as much as he did before he got hurt but he's 10 and he's happy and he is independent for the most part which is good.

Yes, I have tried that in the past. When she had many pills to take. She is so finicky that I can't get her to keep anything on her tongue, let alone in her mouth. She's not a food inspired girl, if you will. She has even turned her nose up at steak, beef, chicken, etc.
She usually is pretty good about taking her regular meds with peanut butter, she must really be feeling rough.

Wow the library. Honestly I think my library card expired about 15 years ago lol. I never renewed it. I guess when I was in high school and such we'd go to the library in the 90s. I go by mine all the time too just never in it. Now you made me curious to go in to mine to see how it is.
