Christmas Countdown - 2015

Good afternoon, everyone!

Blue skies are currently above Cornwall. The weather, however, is quite deceiving as wind gusts are reaching highs of about 70km/h (around 45mph). I don't think that is much compared to last night. Kim's mom's house was shaking last night! I bet the winds were as strong as about 100km/h. It was crazy! I'm sure that others in this system felt something quite similar.

Kim and I will be driving back to Ottawa in a few hours. Prior, we will be enjoying a couple hours of visiting with her family and, hopefully, some delicious birthday cake.

I am about to upload a few photos to the Blossoms thread from yesterday. I hope you all enjoy them!

Wind is the most underrated dangerous weather condition. Everyone talks about rain, snow, ice, and fog but wind can cause damage and often it's the wind that accompanies the rain or snow that causes the bigger problems.

I agree. Kim's mom's house is more than 100 years old. It was shaking a lot. Hopefully the wind isn't too strong on the drive home. I'll have to be extra careful for the 70 minute drive.

Good afternoon MMC,

A chill has spread over the city today and the clouds have rolled in...it's quite possibly the first night the heat will kick in for us! Tomorrow's my birthday and the high is only 47!

Getting ready to go to work today for a few hours, unfortunately. This is our busy season. I can't wait for January and February in that regard. I hope I can enjoy the holidays...so much work is going on with both my husband and I that I'm afraid I'll get lost in it all!

I hope the opposite is true for all of you. I hope you enjoy your time today and can relax!

After a days of work i'll be relaxing with one of my favourite programs "strictly come dancing".
 
I hope folks are having a safe, warm, holiday-ish Sunday!

I had my annual walk-around at the garden center, which is huge and packed with Christmas. I bought a beautiful mug with cardinals and holly on it. I also stopped to buy some little things for office friends, and some more yarn for something I'm crocheting. We'll be having a nice cozy lunch here shortly. I was busy working on projects yesterday, so today I feel like being lazy, but I don't know if I can spare the time!

We've been reaching the teens overnight, with highs in the 20's.
