Christmas Countdown - 2015

Hello everyone. How was you day? I myself have been busy as usual (ahh you know me), The darn van started acting up last night, so this morning I drove to the local Toyota dealership at (you'll laugh at this), 5 mph with my blinkers flashing, riding on the shoulder all the way! Some crazy sensor went up where it was telling the computer that the van was sliding (and it wasn't) and because so, the ABS (anti lock braking system) kept applying the brakes every time that I would go over 5 miles per hour.

So, I had that replaced. Then I drove down to the next county and spent the afternoon running errands and then stopping and visiting my grandfather for a few hours. On my way back home, it started to snow and my darn windshield wipers stopped working, and I mean, stopped working.

I couldn't see nothing in front of me, more than 20 feet and I drove all the way home like that, about 25 mph or less, with my flasherson, for the next 20 miles... Whew, I made it, barely, sliding all over the place and driving off onto the shoulder a few times....That raised my blood pressure up ,like say, 200 points~LOL

I'm home now, safe, sound and I am not going anywhere for the rest of the night! I going to wait until it stops snowing, and then I have to go out there and plow and salt the driveway down because both Lisa and Zach are working right now, and neither one of them will get home till sometime around 11pm.

It's fun-fun this time of year....

Glad you made it safely to the dealer and then home!!! I've been in both of those situations before. The 5mph when my transmission went out and then the wipers stopping on 2 separate occasions.

Happy Valentines day everyone! We spent the whole day out at the slopes, the nearest ski resort had a lot of terrain open despite this being a really sucky year for snowfall, they have 100% snowmaking capabilities! We had a wonderful day and it's still suppose to have a rain snow mix tomorrow. Hope everyone has had a great night!

Ohhhh, what a miserable night it is going to be tonight! The wind is already starting to gust, and the wind chill is actually supposed to get to -25 degrees! I mean guys, look at it in this perspective, for us, we are located below the Mason Dixon line, and it never, and I mean, never, ever, gets that cold here.

-25, that is seriously insane...

Those poor people in new England, gosh, they are going to get clobbered again~

Stay safe!!! We've had that wind most of the day and it was miserable. I got stuck in white out conditions while out running my errands earlier. We are sitting at -10 for a wind chill right now and it's supposed to be even worse in the morning.

Tomorrow is my wife's birthday so we will be pretty busy. But, I am off Monday for Presidents' Day. Then I'll work Tuesday and that's it...Wednesday we will head to Texas. Not a bad week!

oh it was not fun blowing the snow in the driveway. Seriously, I had to stop and get off the tractor because, I swear, it felt like my eyes were starting to freeze. They were burning so bad, I had tears running down my cheeks.
My toes are still numb.. The fireplace never felt better!!!!

Sounds miserable!!! I hope you have thawed out by now!!!!!

Still not sure what we're going to do. A blizzard warning has just been issued for our county. I want to stay home but my husband still wants to go. He thinks we'll be home before the heaviest snow and high winds arrive. He's nuts!

We're in the blizzard warning here, with the worst expected tomorrow morning. It's snowing here now, but that's not the main event yet---the storm is supposed to intensify overnight. Thank heaven, our plow guy was able to come over yesterday and shovel off our roof. It was pricey, but not as bad as paying for roof damage or a leak would be.

We went out for lunch and picked up a few groceries, but we're inside snug and warm now. Feels good to be safe and warm indoors. I hope we'll be west of the worst of the wind.

I am glad you were able to get your roof shoveled. Stay safe tonight!

We're expecting "only" 8 to 10 inches this time. These days, anything under a foot sounds like a walk in the park!

The brunt of the storm isn't here yet and we already have 4 inches out there. That was the low end of the estimates.

Up to -35 wind chill values tonight. Sounds like everyone is getting a dose of cold, snow, or a combo of both. I just want these winds to stop. Makes it feel even worse.

Well, today was End of the World 3.0 at work today, it was extremely busy with panic shoppers again. Then the snow started.

We canceled our reservations, and had sandwiches. Kind of a disappointment compared to what we were to have.
Since we bought a Keurig last month we decided to keep it low key. I made my wife some chocolate covered strawberries for her gift, and she got me Cadbury mini eggs.

Shoveling will be tough tomorrow, we are expecting wind chill temps to be below -30*f brrrrrrrrrrrrr. I will be wearing layers for sure.
