I also wanted to of wished you good luck for your first day at work, but sigh...

I could not get here to do so, because I have been assigned a new project and all of the field survey/ investigation work, it is all to be done in the evening/ overnight shift. I'm all screwed up, (my internal clock that is), so I will be here only when the opportunity allows for me to so over the remainder of the week.

Soooooo, here is my belated good luck, best wishes and wishing you great success with your new job. I hope that it turns out to be everything that you hoped that it would be....

Good morning MMC! We made it back! cheesy I have missed you all!! I'm probably not even going to try to catch up on everything I missed - I can only imagine how many pages of posts that is! :lol: But I do hope all is well with all of you!! xx

We had a great vacation, Gracie had a great vacation & of course ~ it's always good to be home. It didn't have to be THIS cold when we got home, but whatdayado??

Looks like you guys stayed at a swell place from the view. I hope you all had a nice vacation.

My Dad is back in the hospital. He has MRSA! He fell once while we were gone & by Sunday he was in so much pain they took him by squad b/c we couldn't transport him comfortably. From there they sent him to ICU at a bigger hospital, but Monday morning they transferred him to a regular, non ICU room. He was in quite a bit of pain yesterday. I was up there with Mom most of the day yesterday, until my brother came. Then my other sis took his spot staying until after 9pm last night. And yet another sis was up there by 6am this morning & she said he was looking a lot better, he had a good nights sleep, he didn't have pain & hadn't had morphine since 8pm last night. So hopefully he is on the right track now. Still waiting to see the surgeon. He should be in today! My SIL is taking Mom up this afternoon & my sis & I are heading up after work. They are looking to transfer him to rehab when he leaves the hospital so hopefully they can get him up & walking!!

I hope that your dad gets better soon. Well wishes are extended out to him...

I have to tell ya - Gracie was a hero while we were gone... at 2:30am on Wed she was barking & barking -for 45 minutes - wouldn’t stop until Mark got out of bed. Then he heard another dog barking & he thought “Where is that coming from” So he turned on the outside lights & opened his blinds, only to see 2 Coyotes had a lost dog trapped up by their house. The Coyotes were 4 ft. from the dog. When he turned on the lights it scared them away! So he went out & got the dog & brought it in & fed it & gave it some water. The owner was several miles away - he said the Coyotes had been running her for awhile - she was tired & scared. Poor thing!! It ended up being a veterinarians dog. Good girl Gracie! The dog she "saved" is the black & white dog in the collage of pictures.

Good afternoon friends, I just got caught up from reading the posts.

I'm about getting ready to grab some breakfast and get ready to leave for work in about an hour. I have to be on-site at 4pm. Hopefully, I will get home tonight before 3 am, but I'm not sure exactly what the schedule is going to be like tonight. One good thing, at least we are working indoors where it is warm...

I hope everyone has a good day and evening. I'll do a drive by in the early morning hours, before I go to bed, just to check in and see how all my Christmas buddies are doing....

I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go.....

Ya, Coyotes will go after dogs, I was surprised they would go after one that size. I know my brother on the Cape doesn't let their little Yorkie out by himself, but this was a pretty good size dog according to our friend. Poor thing! She could have had a different ending!! I'm so glad Mark got up!!

Heading to work soon, long day of getting ready for and then taking inventory.
I am watching a very interesting documentary called "Of Miracle and Men." It is from the view of the Soviet hockey team that lost to the USA in the 1980 Olympics. I won't be able to finish it before I leave but wow what a team they had, I see why it was called Miracle On Ice now.

Sorry to hear that Dad has had such a rough time. Glad he is feeling better today though. He continues to be in my prayers.

It looks and sounds like Gracie had quite the vacation!!! She is quite the hero!!! Hope she is getting lots of extra treats as a reward!!!

Funny how we now "wait until it hits 0" :lol: Crazy! For just a few minutes yesterday the thermometer on the car said 10º & we were celebrating...woo hoo double digits! But it didn't last long & it was down to 7º! Lol! Stay safe & have a great day!

Hello everyone. Well, area schools are closed because we got a whole inch of snow!!!! maybe more but it melts quick. Us Oklahomans shut down at a hint of ice. we just aren't used to it as our winters are pretty short. I found this chart that shows our seasons around these parts pretty accurately:
